About this property

Stately home conveniently located in the city with a riverfront view!

This is a charming home with a riverfront view! It has easy access to the interstate and located approximately 7 minutes drive from Yeager Airport and the WV State Capitol Complex. It is only one mile from Charleston Civic Center, Charleston Town Center Mall and close proximity to all major hospitals in Charleston, WV. Magic Island and Haddad Parks are within walking distance, as well as, the Clay Center. In front of the house and on the opposite side of the street are running and bike tracks. Don’t forget to try the many restaurants nearby! You will love staying in this spacious nearly 3,200 square foot home! You can sit on the front porch drinking your coffee with a riverfront view or you can kick back in a recliner in the living room and watch the 70” flat screen tv. The kitchen was completely remodeled with high end Jenn-Air double oven and electric stove. Feel free to stay in and use the kitchen to cook the family a good meal or visit one of the many nice restaurants nearby. When you want to rest you can escape to the spacious master bedroom for a nap or head to the third floor recreation room to relax and watch tv. Don’t forget about the newly remodeled bathroom with marble and custom walk in shower.

Highly Recommend, Would Book Again

Perfect house for a family-the kitchen was awesome (and stocked with all the housewares you need) and the bedrooms are huge. Best of all, the location is convenient. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch looking out at the river. The owner is very friendly and takes very good care of the property. We absolutely would stay here again.

Great property

The property was wonderful. Very convenient. Clean safe, quiet neighborhood. The owner was unbelievably quick to respond. The home was very nice, well kept. Price was a bargain. Gorgeous Home for your family!

The property was well kept and the house was large enough to hold our large family! The kitchen was well stocked to be able to cook meals for the family. The beds were comfy and plenty of air mattresses! We enjoyed our stay and if we come back to Charleston we will stay here again!

Second stay here and still a majestic riverfront home! Love the location and the charm of this historic property. Huge fan of the number of sleeping spaces and bathrooms! Our group of five stayed with plenty of space for privacy. Love the third floor… it was actually my favorite place to sleep. The A/C works great!

Stately home review

The space was everything we needed and more. It was more than we expected. The air mattresses would not stay inflated, we were fortunate to find this out before we needed them and the host promptly purchased new ones and brought them to the house. Everything worked out well for us.

Beautiful

This historic home is absolutely beautiful! Our 5 year old had a blast playing hide and go seek with having THREE floors to play on. The view of the river and mansions across the river is relaxing and peaceful. Kroger and Tudors is a 2 minute drive which is a big bonus!

Lovely home close to town

We stayed at this lovely (large) house for 3 nights and found it perfectly located for our needs. We could easily walk to town and once back "home" we were so comfortable sitting on the front "porch" watching the interesting river traffic. Rodger was quick to answer a couple of questions and we found everything spotless, comfortable, and easy to use. Definitely a super property!

Rodger's Stately Home

Communication with Rodger was excellent, he responded promptly to questions and kept us updated. The home was well appointed; spacious, but cozy; close to restaurants and shops; the parking area easily accommodated our five vehicles. The massage chair was a hit for those of us who ran the Frozen Sasquatch 25K. And, amazingly there was sufficient hot water for six of us to bathe/shower after returning from our very muddy, rainy run. My biggest complaint is that we did not spend enough time enjoying all that the house had to offer. If we return to Charleston for Frozen Sasquatch next year, we will be checking availability. Jane

Christmas tradition

We had 6 adults and 4 kids stay together to celebrate Christmas. The large kitchen made homemade meals a great opportunity for everyone to help. The third floor was perfect for the older kids. Two bedrooms on second floor along with full laundry facilities. Bedroom on first floor. We were pleasantly surprised to see two full and two half baths throughout. The park across the street was great for the kids to run off some energy. Several convenient stores close by. Property Manager responded quickly. Great overall experience.

Charming & Elegant

The house is so beautiful and stately, very charming with all the original fireplaces throughout. My parents loved sitting and talking about who may have raised their family there decades ago, it was good to have them reminiscing about when they grew up. The check-in experience could not have gone more smooth, Rodger was the perfect host. If we ever get to visit Charleston again, we will definitely be contacting Rodger!
