About this property

Cozy Cabin in the national forest

We're located 11 miles north of Pagosa Springs along a scenic mountain road that leads to a secluded spot surrounded by the San Juan National Forest. This 1,400 sq ft, two-story cabin offers one private bedroom with an outdoor balcony plus a loft with multiple beds. A fully stocked kitchen, dishwasher, washer and dryer, gas stove & wood-burning stove, and electric heat are available for your convenience. Relax outside on the deck that overlooks a valley with 2 ponds and northern peak views. The cabin sits on 2 wooded acres at 9,000 ft elevation surrounded by aspens, spruce, and fir trees, that's home to mule deer, elk, fox, chipmunks, and an assortment of birds.
This cabin is located in a small settlement named Lost Valley of the San Juans. There are few friendly neighbors, but they are spread out among the valley.
The Weminuche Wilderness and Fourmile trailhead are very close. They offer breathtaking views of waterfalls, creeks, rivers, and high mountain lakes.

We are 30 minutes from Pagosa Springs, 1 hour and 45 minutes from downtown Creede, and 1 hour and 40 minutes from Durango.

Pagosa Springs is surrounded by more than 3 million acres of national forest that offer ample opportunity to keep you entertained. Drive down for dinner, soothe your muscles in the hot springs, float/kayak/hike down the San Juan River, golf, balloon rides, horseback riding, or just take a stroll down the streets to shop.
There are places to rent mountain bikes, fishing supplies, and more outdoor equipment. The San Juan river runs through town and offers world-class trout fishing.
*hunters welcome!*

Long term renters- if you’re interested in renting the cabin during the winter months please message me and we can work this out. 2 week- Month long minimum stay and must have a snowmobile for access.

Lovely cabin deep in the woods.
Was a lovely stay with little issues. The toilet was a little temperamental at times, you have to make sure to pull the handle up for it to refil properly. The only real issue we had was the internet. There was no wifi password and absolutely no cell service. We had to go into town (30-45 minute drive) to call and recieve the password, which I needed for work. That being said, once contacted she sent the password within a few minutes. All and all I would highly recommend this cabin for you or your family! Very beautiful.

Fall Foliage
Arrived after dark and the road is winding and very dark, but the directions were great. The valley is beautiful and only a mile from Four Mile trailhead and the trail to the falls. Very friendly people living in the valley.

Peaceful place to stay!
We loved the peace and quiet. We made friends with the squirrel on the backporch. We named him Taz and had him on our lap by the end of our stay, so bring some Cheez-Its.

Family Unplugged
This little cabin in the woods was exactly what we were looking for in a getaway for our family! Our 3 kids (ages 7-11) chose it because of the loft, which was perfectly comfortable with the 3 beds and plenty of cozy space. Kitchen was fully stocked with all the basics, essential spices and even condiments, which is so rare! The little extra surprises topped it off, like basket of toys, extra fishing poles, dvds and cupboard of games. Although there is Wi-Fi, we were delighted to see our kids remain completely unplugged and enjoy the beautiful surroundings!

Very secluded and peaceful
Wonderful property. Owner assisted promptly with any concerns. Beautiful valley. Road a little rough to cabin so plan on 30 minute drive up into forest. This is all worth the solitude you will experience while staying at this cabin. Great hike, 4 mile trail, just a little over a mile up road. Really enjoyed the stay.

Very secluded and relaxing
We really enjoyed the location and seclusion. The house had everything we needed and was comfortable. With the cleaning fee that is charged to each guest I didn't expect to find all the cobwebs and dead flowers in rotten water.

Wonderful Cabin
WE very much enjoyed out stay. The location was great, perhaps a bit far out for some but this is exactly what we wanted. The cabin is well set up and very functional. One little issue we had and the property manager addressed it immediately! We will definitely stay here again

A quiet cab in the woods
overall we had an enjoyable experience. A couple of drawbacks were dirty dishes left in the dishwasher when we arrived. It is a two bedroom with both bedrooms upstairs and the bathroom downstairs and if you need to use the bathroom it will require one of the parties to walk through one of the bedrooms to get to the bathroom and down the stairs. The stairs are wooden and loud enough to ensure you awaken those who are sleeping in the other bedroom. Overall we enjoyed our visit, but the downstairs carpet needs to be replaced and the the overall cleanliness wasn't the best. But if you have kids and dogs it won't bother you very much at all. The location is a little remote so you should expect about a 20 to 30 minute drive to and from Pagosa depending on your driving habits. We really enjoyed the quiet and beauty of the area and Fourmile trail is a must if you stay there, but most of the trails in the area require a little bit or a lot of driving to get to them depending on what you are looking for.

Rustic getaway
This place is great if you're looking for a secluded rustic setting. One thing I did not expect were all the cows standing in the road as you drive in. If you come to hike, fourmile and Anderson trail are just a 6 minute drive. However all other trails in the area are 40+ to drive to. The cabin is cozy but a little junky. The bathroom is downstairs from the bedrooms which can be challenging at night. The host is very responsive and helpful.

Beautiful property
We had an amazing time at this cabin. It had all of the comforts of home. The property is about 30 minutes from Pagosa but the location was absolutely stunning. It was very private, a great get away from the city. My dogs and kid had so much fun walking around the property. There is also an amazing hike just up the road called four mile and the views were spectacular on the hike. We loved it so much we are thinking this may be an annual summer trip for us.

Mountain side
Great communication with Sarah and she made sure everything was great during our stay. No problems checking in and the property was well stocked with everything we needed that was stated. It’s a remote cabin with just the small neighborhood around so you have to know that going in. Perfect to get away for a bit but you really have to enjoy nature and the outdoors! Overall a wonderful stay. It was a little cooler at night but the wood stove easily kept it warm. Great stay!
