We really enjoyed our time here has a beautiful view of the ocean. Had all the things needed to kayak and go out on the water. Nice and secluded. Had a fire pit, which was lovely to turn on In the evening. Would recommend this place and stay again
Ideal location overlooking the bay with nice attached deck and additional deck, and float for swimming and water access.
Cottage is clean and comfortable.
My husband and I visited from North Carolina in August, so the weather and open windows were glorious. Our son and granddaughters live in Harpswell and he brought his little runabout over to the dock. We had a blast exploring the islands and collecting washed-up buoys, picking wild blackberries, and hiking the.trails.numeroutrails,ancooling local sea
Great house on a quiet bay…lots of eagles, osprey, cormorants, and even a seal. Used the kayaks for a nice paddle around the area. Clean, comfortable house in a nice area. Lots of hiking nearby.
We had an absolutely fantastic stay. Mike and Connie were perfect hosts. The sunrises and sunsets were breathtaking. Very peaceful and calming week. We can’t soak up enough of this place.
My son, his partner, my 2 dogs had a wonderful time. We swam and kayaked as well as enjoyed making one of the house puzzles. The property has 2 bedrooms with 2 queen beds - the description states 1 bedroom which is incorrect.

Ok property
Property so-so, neighborhood isn’t desirable, junky and unkept. The home itself was clean….although pots/pans, eating utensils was old, stained or in bad shape. Otherwise the water view is amazing.
We take our annual family trip to Maine and this listing seemed good since it was dock access, but the ad was not informative, this bungalow is in a campsite style with other bungalow, we had plumbing issues on the first night,no water pressure, and we had to manually remove waste materials. I notified owner husband and Mr.Mike was very compassionate, but ultimate decisions would fall on the wife for any refund. Well she understood the issues and at first refused to refund the 5 days, but at the end she decided to make the right decisions and comply to dissatisfied clients. Overall if you like the campsite bungalow style ,you decide but the ad was not accurate,it seemed it was a single private home.
The cottage was better than description or the pictures and must bee seen to appreciateit. I must have looked at pictures and reviews for a week before booking, yet when we arrived we were simply shocked at the view and the equaly great cottage. Amazing sunrises and night-time star viewing. The hosts do a great job making sure everything you could need is available.
Such a great place. Beautiful view, quiet, very clean, loved the kayaks. You could nit pick some minor things but there’s so much positive it’s not worth doing that. My only real complaint would be the neighbor we got in another cabin on day 4. They decided to tie up their two large dogs outside starting early in the morning. These dogs would bark at everything and kind of ruined the setting… and sleep. Outside of that this place was worth every penny.

Home on the Water
The location of the home was beautiful. We were just feet from the water and property had a dock and kayaks. We didn't have much time to enjoy it as we had only planned an overnight stay. We hadn't heard from the owners with the entry code info so we reached out a couple hours before check-in time. (Possibly they would have sent it before check-time so I need to give them the benefit of the doubt, but typically when we stay at a VRBO we get the info the day before or morning of our stay.) When we arrived at the home, every window was open and the house was freezing inside (51 degrees). It was a windy, chilly day. We couldn't get the gas fireplace to start so I messaged the owner to inquire how to get the fireplace or some other heat source going, but never heard back. We were able to warm the bedrooms with space heaters so we slept fairly comfortably with the bedroom doors closed. The next morning I messaged the owner again with a question about the trash and also let them know we survived the night in the freezing house. They did not acknowledge the issue we had with the heat, just wished us safe travels. We did stay only one night, and we arrived pretty late, so I get that the owners probably weren't that concerned about issues/comfort for us, but the final cost was about $475, so I would have liked to have heard back on the temperature issue. Aside from communication/responsiveness, it's a beautiful location and probably would have been a fun place to spend a few days.
Connie and Mike have done so much to make Lofty amazing!
We spent most of the week just floating in the float watches the seals and the ospreys and the fish.
The kayaks were fun too.
The very quiet neighborhood made for some great sleeping.
We are already counting down the days til our 3rd vacation at Lofty.
This cottage was perfect and beautiful! We loved the location, the place is big, it has everything you need! Great access to the water! We will definitely be back next year!
We had the best time!! The house was very clean. Host Mike and Connie were welcoming and helpful. Our family of 6 plus the dog fit comfortably, and the kids and adults all had a blast kayaking, swimming, relaxing, and seeing some of the local sites. Brunswick (nearby) was very convenient for quick grocery runs and takeout when needed. We’d stay again in a heartbeat.
This property is in a very quiet peaceful location. The wildlife is wonderful. The camp is comfortable. The dock is shared - something to note as it’s in front of the camp. It’s a lovely spot. I would stay again.

Nice coastal property, with a few caveats
2. The road: The property itself is located down a very rough twisty dirt road with big hills. It would be easy to drive in an SUV or 4-wheel drive. I wish the property highlighted this. You're also surrounded closely by other houses, included some rough trailers. Drive very slow (<5 mph) and beware deer and kids. Limited privacy.
Connie and Mike have a beautiful location conveniently located to MidCoast Region attractions. Quiet sport with incredible views and having the Kayaks was a huge bonus. House was accurate to the listing and just what we needed for our stay.
Enjoyed having plenty of space and loved the large deck and dock area.
