Our son got married at Pine Hills Lodge in Julian on Sept. 8, 2022, and we needed a large home for out-of-town family and friends to stay in with us. John and Leslie's bungalow worked out very well for us. It is very close to the venue which made it super convenient. John was an extremely responsive host, even prior to our booking. The house was very clean, and very well appointed with just about everything we needed for the 13 people who stayed there. **Important note: although the house says it sleeps 14, 3 spots are on couches (not sofa beds), and 1 on a twin mattress that can be pulled out to use. We brought air mattresses and bedding to use, as we are all too old to sleep on couches lol. It was a minor inconvenience, but listing should be updated to make this clear, as bedding is not provided for these spots.** From all reports, the beds were comfortable (hubby and I were on an Aerobed). Bathrooms worked out fine; one has just a bathtub so showers must be shared with the other two. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to make meals. The great room was fabulous and had plenty of room for our large group to sit around and visit, as well as eat together. There are books, games and even a record player. There is a large screen TV in the smaller family room that looked great; however we never had time to use it. The grounds were beautiful, and we were visited by some deer and turkeys before Hurricane/Tropical Storm Kay made her presence known. We never did use the jacuzzi due to the wind and rain. We very much appreciated being able to go in the back door rather than up all the front stairs during the stormy weather. The house worked out very well for our large group, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.
