This was the perfect house to get away with our friends for a trip to Gunstock in January! There is so much space where we could all have room to hangout and not be on top of eachother. It rained one day of our weekend so we were able to visit a local brewery and then bring the kids to Funspot. Gunstock was great and so close to the house. Would love to visit the house again in the summer time to enjoy the lake. We had a great time!
Charming old New England farmhouse with lots of space and thoughtful touches. The kitchen is huge and well furnished, as is the dining room. The living room has a large wrap around sofa that was comfortable for all nine of us and there is a game room with plenty of activities. Four large bedrooms were furnished to accommodate parents and kids, and all had comfortable beds with cozy linens. The house is located on a somewhat busy road, but the traffic settles down quite a bit in the evening and did not bother us. All in all, a great place to stay!
We had a group of 11 that were looking for a one-last getaway before fall. Davids's house was the perfect location to host our group. We could all easily sit around the kitchen table and TV. It was only a 15-minute drive from our boat rental and Weirs beach. I would definitely recommend this home!
Nice big house with very comfortable beds and lots of space for our large group to hang out. Large selection of games for adults and children - including a Pac Man machine that inspired competition between my 2 adult sons. Great house, but we were a little disappointed in the limited choice of public beach access locations- though we did enjoy Ellacoya State Park and Weirs Beach.
We had a great 6 nights. By day, we were able to explore the Mt. Major area and go to the lake (note, this location you must drive a minimum of 5 minutes to get to the lake). It's a perfect location if you want to do hiking, ziplining @ Gunstock as the trails and mountain are a very short drive. The kitchen was well-stocked and spacious. David was easy to communicate with as well. Two families went on this trip and we always felt there was plenty of room. The beds were very comfortable as well. LOVED the huge sectional to watch movies. Overall, I highly recommend this property!
3 generations of our family enjoyed a wonderful week here for our first Lake Winnipesaukee vacation. We loved the spacious living areas and massive sectional where we could all spread out while the children played in the game room with the endless supply of toys and games. The kitchen is huge making meal prep easy with multiple family members at the same time…and the dining table…wow! We ALL fit around it! The bedrooms were set up for family groups which suited us perfectly. In the evenings we enjoyed the making s’mores around the fire, stargazing and just chilling on the deck. We had plenty of parking for our group plus 2 boats. We can only offer a couple of minor suggestions…a window shade for upstairs bathroom and one of the bedrooms and a few more bowls in kitchen. We had a wonderful time making memories that will last a lifetime at your very comfortable home! We would not hesitate to stay here again! Thank you so much David and Sarah!
We brought together 3 families to vacation in the region. The house is great, the kitchen is large as is the dining room table, so it was great to eat there, and the couch and tv room easily fit all 9 of us. Every room has AC, and it was comfortable. We swam several days at Ellacoya State Park, which is a 5 min drive from the house. The owner is extremely responsive and helpful. We are already thinking about how to get back here for next summer.
What a great place for a family vacation. We had our 5 year old granddaughter and 3 year old grandson with us along with our daughter and son-in-law. Place was spotless. Kitchen perfect for making family meals and memories—and yes there was a working grill. Toys in the home were amazing—giant dollhouse that totally enchanted our granddaughter. David was easy to communicate with and easily accommodated our request to check in earlier than advertised. Can’t recommend this home enough!
We had a wonderful time staying in the house. It was spacious and allowed our family to be really comfortable while we explored the area. Thanks for the hospitality!
Lovely stay with my blended family of 9. We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor spaces very much (though we weren't home that much since we were there to be on the lake!). The location is fabulous. I was pleased that the air conditioners helped dull the ever-present motorcycles from the nearby road. A small issue but not one that would prevent me/us from coming back again. Thank you so much for sharing your home.
Couldn’t have picked a better spot for a weekend away with our family. Very clean and tidy. Hosts were very helpful with check in and check out instructions. Perfect space for a big group of people to feel comfortable. Would definitely book again!
The home is a wonderful place to gather with family and friends. The large kitchen and adjoining large dining area makes cooking in a pleasure. The location near the lake and Gunstock made it perfect for what we needed.
We had a great stay at Mount Major Manor! The house was clean, well equipped with all the bathroom and kitchen essentials, and communication with hosts was great. Thanks for making our weekend getaway such a nice one.
The house was perfect for our girls getaway! The beds were so comfy and the big couch fit everyone for hanging out. The host was easy to communicate with and check in and out couldn’t have been easier. Thank you!
The house was perfect for the kids as it had a great open space for them to run and play in the swing set in the back. It’s a great location to the lake, beach and food
We really enjoyed staying at your home. It was beautiful and had a very central location. The house had everything we needed and the beds were so comfortable! We will definitely be renting again
We had a great weekend - 10 of us had plenty of space and were very comfortable. The living areas of the house are a lot bigger than it looks in pictures, which was great because we encountered quite a bit of rain during our stay. Communication and check in process was great.
This property exceeded our expectations! The layout was perfect for a large party. The pictures do not do it justice! If you are looking for a house to sleep a lot of friends/family, look no further!
Let's start with the area, very nice area. For being on a "main road" it was not such a busy street thankfully. The lake was pretty much right across the street with a very short walk that we did each day, we walked down to the public dock and hung out for a bit and enjoyed the lake from the shore(we didn't have the oppertunity to rent and be on the lake). Up the street(north) one way just a few miles there was a town market, and a handful of eaterys. A few more miles up was dunkin, gas, supermarket, lowes, etc...heading south past the house a few miles put you into "downtown" alton and the very touristy vibe of the the lake(shops,, bars, rentals,, etc). The house was big, and had plenty of space for everyone to spread out. We utilized the side porch with the big picnic table with the tiki torches and brand new grille, just off the deck was the firepit where we spent the 2nd most time while at the house. Plenty of parking available, plenty of room for the kids to play if you come with kids. The wood working and workmanship inside the house (doll houses, pallet wall, the ceiling) were all very nice. The games in the parlor were good, a couple of us enjoyed the bumper pool and dart board, others played the Paxman arcade game. The couch is massive and was barely used(by us) the kitchen nice and big plenty of room to move around. The whole house was very light, bright, and airy. For the most part the house was very clean.
