Fantastic place: so cute, right on the lake, great views. On top of that, the host, Anjanette, could not have been more attentive, without being intrusive. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get away.
We wanted a getaway after the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. The hosts were incredibly accomadating and friendly. Any questions I had she answered in a timely manner, even down to where they got the luscious blankets by the fireside and helpful updates on inclement weather. The neighborhood going in put us on gaurd but opened up to a nice quiet cove with no issues. I suggest supervision with kids under 5 around the barrel stairs. We blocked the stairs and railway at night and our little ones were fine. Definitely best vrbo we've ever had. Private yard was big enough to let the kids play, hot tub was clean. Beautiful clean house, decorated for Christmas with fireplace was a perfect scene for the snow we had.

Location was nice
Good stay for a few days. Had one incident the second night we were there. Two cars pulled into the driveway later in the evening. The talked for 10 minutes or so before I went out to see what was going on. They were at the wrong house. There house was next door but owned by the same person that we rented from. The owner ended up calling to tell us that a housekeeper would be coming to the house we were in to get the key for the house next door. It was right by the hot tub so after all that we were done with the hot tub for the night. Unfortunate situation that put a bit of a damper on our stay. Other than that we were happy with the setting, house and time spent.
Had a short weekend stay here with friends. House is very cute with nice back porch over looking a stunning lake. Great above ground pool(although we did not use) and house was clean and felt
Homey. Some things that made this not 5 stars (which are pretty much out of owners control)
Cons-- the house was a bit dark inside, and the winding staircase going to the loft/ bedroom area was very tight and we didn't even try to get suitcases up there. Another thing is the road/ homes leading to the house were a bit sketchy to say the least.
Overall we Enjoyed our stay and the 2 homes at the end of the road were nice next to the rental. If you enjoy being away from any restaurants/hustle and bustle and want just some nice quiet time of kayaking, and porch sitting you'll enjoy it.
My spouse and I had a awesome vacation at the lake house. We docked our boat at our own dock. Just feet from backdoor. House was super clean and very nice and cozy. We will book again!
Plenty of privacy lots of great amenities a second bathroom would be the only thing but we made it work just fine. Beautiful property well maintained. Would definitely recommend and may visit again myself.
We made some great memories in this home. It was perfect for our family of 6. The house was very clean and more than inviting when we first walked in. It was where we needed to be to get away and disconnect from the world. The kayaks were great, even for my 6'6" husband and 6'4" teenagers. My daughter lived in the pool! LOL One of our teenagers caught a monster catfish the last night we were there. It ended up being the highlight of our trip!! Could not have asked for a better host, She was phenomenal! Great place and we highly recommend it!!
We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Raines Retreat! It was cozy & all around a sweet treat to stay at! Super clean! The personal touches throughout the house made it feel just like home. Mrs. Anjanette is a precious soul & was so wonderful to communicate with. Our kids loved the lake & the kayaks. Our grand-babies loved the pool & hot tub. We are typically beach going people, but we didn’t miss it one bit! That’s how much we enjoyed our stay!! Thanks so much Raines family! We hope to come and visit again! :)
The property is very clean and complete. The lakeside view is wonderful. The proximity to the highway is somewhat a distraction while outside but soon forgotten when enjoying the lakeside activities. The hosts are excellent and very responsive.
Nice home and property. Owners were very responsive to communication. Lake setting was very nice with the exception of busy interstate noise always in background. Close to Ark Encounter.
We loved our stay. The property was beautiful, and the accommodations were very comfortable and cozy. The master bedroom bed was comfortable and the view out to the lake made it even better. We loved sitting by the fireplace every evening, especially since the nights got a little chilly while we were there. The entire property was clean and well equipped. The added touch of tasteful seasonal decorations (fall) only added to the ambience.
While it wasn't troublesome to me, some might find the location unnerving as you have to drive past some rather delipidated and questionable properties to arrive at the location. But again, the property itself and the view certainly makes up for it. I am looking forward to another stay here!
Absolutely loved our stay here. Owner checked on us every day & was so sweet. Can’t say enough good things about how nice the place was. Very clean & lots of space. Would have liked different stairs to upstairs bed’s because I wasn’t going to try to get my suitcase up the spiral staircase but I made it work. Loved the hot tub & outdoor patio
We needed somewhere to stay for our large family near my sister's house in Sadieville. This little Lakehouse cabin was ideal for our family! The owner was very communicative and so kind to leave little "extras" at the cabin to make us feel welcomed. Yes, the surrounding area to get to the cabin has trailers and you can hear and see the highway while at the cabin, but it truly is peaceful and cozy overall. I only wish we had more time to spend there and enjoy the lake as well as visit The Ark nearby! Maybe next time.
Anjanette was so helpful. Sleeping spaces upstairs are not as spacious as they look on the listing, but that wasn’t a big deal to us. Also the stairs that lead to the upstairs beds are very steep and scary so be warned of that.
Anjanette helped us with everything we needed. The property was beautiful. We would definitely stay again.
The property is located on a beautiful lake with an above ground pool and hot tub on the deck overlooking the lake. Very nice to watch sunrise and sunsets.
The inside of the home is nicely decorated, clean and contains everything you will need to cook for your family.
We really enjoyed our stay! We visited the Ark Encounter, spent lots of time swimming, hot tubbing, fishing, and kayaking. This is a quiet, dead-end road. It was perfect for our family. The beds/pillows/bedding/towels/AC were top-notch! There are a lot of spiders (outside!) in Kentucky-who knew?! And we couldn’t find a place to pull a tube behind a boat, but we enjoyed swimming in Williamstown Lake-not far away.
Great kitchen/living room/deck spaces. The laundry was so handy and useful, since we were there so long.
Life jackets were provided.
Communication with the owners was quick and easy!
Highly recommend!
