Cute place highly recommend

Cute place, would recommend it if you are looking for a place near downtown Napa. One bedroom and one bath, and a nice sized kitchen so you can actually cook when you are not eating out. Near Napa Wine Train, and other places. Property manager is very friendly and accommodating. We also were able to met her in person. An added plus is that she is genuinely a nice person.

I loved everything about this property from the location, safety, the interior and exterior of the house and the owner!! I’m a cook and the kitchen is well equipped! It was a great selection.

Good location for foodies, festival go-ers, Napa explorers

Fetching and with a cottage-like feel, this a well-tended home perfect for longer-term stays. Walking distance to Oxbow, fairgrounds, and downtown Napa. Well-appointed kitchen for the cooks out there (and I like to cook!). Backyard was filled with camellias while I visited, and I did bring those blossoms into every room. Bedroom is comfortable and cozy; bath and bedroom have ample storage space. While on the Wine Train tracks, it’s not a bother… runs during the day and finishes in the early evening. Balloons in the early morning, river walks nearby, and fantastic dining options. A great place to stay!

Best place to stay in Napa!

This property and experience was *the best* i've ever had! The location is just magical. Super walkable to downtown, the library, Model Bakery, Farmers Market, restaurants, etc... The Wine Train comes by a couple times a day with a friendly reminder that you're living your best life! there is plenty of sun in the home, and even a clothesline to sun-dry your clothes! The yard is impeccable and well maintained. great for dinners, cocktails, lounging, or even if you brought a pet. The property manager and next door maintenance man were so kind, friendly, helpful, responsive, quick, and generous! Plenty of dishes to make meals, easy electronic door lock, mail comes right in to the table through a mail slot, great water pressure and temperature, plenty of indoor and outdoor space. will only recommend this place to my friends and family who come!

Lovely house and yard, great location and host

This is just an excellent property right in the heart of Napa that allows you to walk anywhere downtown and take advantage of good restaurants, the trail and couldn't be closer to the fair grounds. The host Barbara is a sweetie and the handyman lives next door if anything is needed. We had a dog and cat which made it very difficult to find a place too. Not only were they welcome, there was a cat tree and bowls, etc. to accommodate. Thank you Barbara and Francisco!

Incredibly Special Experience

Words cannot describe the amazing experience we had at this special train house and its special property owner Barbara. This experience for us was amazing. From the moment we booked we could see how sweet, kind and caring Barbara was. It was my husband and I and our two elderly wienie dogs that stayed at this property. I was on a hospital assignment for work and needed a place for a few months. The house was bright and welcoming and the back yard was a little piece of heaven for us and our dogs. We were in a prime location just steps away from one of the coolest downtown areas we have ever been. Close to great bars and restaurants with even better views. We went running on the vine trail quite often and over to Model Bakery for breakfast a little too often :) We rarely had to use our car except for going to the beautiful wineries around Napa and Sonoma area all within 20 minutes. If any issues came up or questions we had Barbara and her property manager would respond within 5 minutes and fix whatever we needed within the hour. The house was complete with everything we could ever need and more cookware than we could use! We lacked nothing. The care we felt and attention to detail was beyond any VRBO stay we had every experienced. I would highly recommend this oasis to anyone who needs to take a breather. You will leave refreshed and relaxed! Thank you again Barbara to you and your team!

Incredible Location

My wife and I stayed for a month and had a fantastic time. Barbara's communication was excellent and Francisco helped us with everything during our stay. The location was incredible - walking distance to lots of great restaurants which we took frequent advantage of. Also we really appreciated that we could have our dogs with us - they loved sunning themselves in the backyard. Thanks again!

I cannot say enough nice things about Barbara and the Train House

Have you ever been to one of those places that just feels happy? This is one of those places! It’s big and light and airy. It’s so close to town and to all your amenities. It is near the train tracks but it is the wine train and only goes out 3-4 times a week and is actually pretty cool and old world looking. And remember it’s a wine train, no one is heading out early or coming back late. There is a really cool backyard, a grill, there are all new appliances and the layout is fantastic. I really loved staying here!! Barbara is wonderful and the caretaker is on site and can help with any issues. I highly recommend staying here!!

Great Stay!

The house was close to many of the spots we wanted to see. Fun to watch the wine train go by daily across the street. House was well equipped for my wife ,I and 2 dogs. The back yard was just right for the dogs.

Very comfortable for my 5 week work-relocation

My two dogs and I were very comfortable at the property, mostly loving the fenced in and sunny yard. The property was well furnished and had ample linens and kitchen supplies. The location is very close to the Transit Center which made traveling throughout the County very easy and accessible. Being so close to downtown Napa and Oxbow was a great advantage to when dining or taking an easy walk to grab a drink or eat.

Outstanding Napa Location!!

We loved this charming home! It is adorable, comfortable, and has a great back yard with grill. The location can't be beat - it is walking distance to downtown Napa with all its restaurants and shops. It is convenient to the wine train (what a fun thing to do!) and the Oxbow Market. The owner and caretaker are warm, wonderful people. They made us feel welcome, and we even enjoyed a fabulous barbeque with them and their friends, along with great wine! It is also under a mile to Exertec gym. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives!

A wonderful place in downtown Napa

My wife and I along with our 6 month old Golden Retriever puppy stayed for 3 months in this centrally located home in Napa. The listing and photos were accurate and we found it to be very clean, comfortable, and a perfect base to explore Napa and the surrounding areas. The house is unique with much charm. The kitchen is well appointed with many windows which make it light and airy. The window air conditioning units worked well during hot summer days and were surprisingly quiet when used at night. The backyard is perfect for a pet and to enjoy outdoor cooking and dining. The neighborhood at first sight may seem somewhat old with some commercial enterprises but we found it very safe and with many friendly neighbors. The county fair grounds are within a block or two and there are often weekend events which are interesting and enjoyable. The Napa Valley Wine Train does come by twice a day but we looked forward to each passing. Oxbow Market is one of the best places to find a wide variety of places to each and it is just a few blocks away from this house. You can walk from this home across the Napa river bridge and be in a waterfront development as well as downtown Napa where you will find excellent restaurants and shops. The owner of this property was very friendly and helpful and made sure that our stay was pleasureable. If we ever return to Napa for an extended stay, we hope that Barbara will allow us to stay at her home again.

Sweet house with cozy garden in Napa

Beautiful home, private with great yard for the puppies or kids. Wonderful modern kitchen, great for entertaining guests and having dinner parties. A stroll across the street gets you to Downtown Napa for shopping and wine tasting with the wine train just steps from your door.

Great neighborhood for strolling and shopping.

Location location location . . . I enjoyed this property because it's right by the river and behind it are nice neighborhoods, both nice for strolling and walking the dogs. Across the river are nice restaurants and stores for shopping. All in the heart of the wine country, what could be better?

So Convenient!

I would like to share how clean and well-maintaned this property is. It's amazing that it's so close to everything in downtown Napa, including right by the wine train, but sitting out in the backyard is so quiet and peaceful. What a charming property with its vintage feel, but modernly upgraded. I would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat.

Recent June Stay

My husband and i spent the month of June here. The location is within easy walking distance of downtown Napa but is across the river facing an industrial area and railroad tracks. There was construction going on most of the time we were there which should be completed by now. The location and area surrounding the house are a bit rundown but it is a good base for exploring the Napa valley. The owner was very nice and responsive to our needs. We had issues with the airconditioning wall units and some of the furniture needed to be replaced and that was handled quickly. There is a nice private yard and BBQ and the kitchen is great. We made the best of it but I would choose to spend more money to be in a better location and higher quality furnishings. But if you are looking for something clean, centrally located and budget friendly this could be a good option for you.

We stayed here for 4 nights during July and found the duplex to be very clean and comfortable, with lovely furnishings. The kitchen is wonderfully modern and had everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed spending our evenings cooking on the outdoor grill and relaxing on the vine covered patio. We would love to stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here...

My wife and I stayed here in June and just couldn't have been happier! Charming, beautiful, spacious... highly recommended! The interior is modern, clean, has all new amenities, and also has beautiful antique furniture throughout which really enhances the overall charm. The property is on a quiet street, full privacy, and yet is literally a stones throw from downtown. The large backyard of the property is so nice -- with all there is to do in and around Napa, we chose to spend many a night barbecuing on the (wonderful) gas grill, enjoying the spoils of our winery visits, under the canopy of stars and cozy vine-draped patio -- the perfect setting for a romantic dinner. It's a true gem of a place... we will definitely be back and staying here again!

I spent 3 months in the summer 2008 here with 2 other foreign roomates who worked with me as winemakers close to this Napa based comfortable house. I especially appreciated the huge clean bedroom and the backyard where a lot of BBQ's parties are etched in my memory forever.

We loved staying at this ...

We loved staying at this cozy home away from home. To rent at other homes or hotels would have been far more costly with this proximity to all the wonderful shops and restaurants within walking distance. The bed was especially a hit for me with the optimal comfort of the memeory foam and get linens and pillows. Everything was very clean and well kept. Having a nice back yard was a real plus to relax in at the end of the busy wine tasting days. I was also excited to have the Napa Wine Train go by close to the home which added additional atmosphere.

Why they chose this property

The home sits inside of a beautiful and old garden, so you feel like you are in the country; however, shopping, transportation, exercising, and dining are close by and convenient. Oxbow Market, Taqueria Maria, Napa Fairgrounds are all within walking distance.

You have all the creature comforts of home. Each room serves its purpose and the energy flow within the house is magical. The kitchen has many utensil, cookware, and space for the discerning cook.

What makes this property unique

The size of the backyard is impressive for being in downtown Napa. Many of the trees and plants are over one hundred years old. The craftsmanship of the hardwood floors, high ceilings, wrap around porch, and modern upgrades make this a perfect combination of old and new. This house is a rare gem!
