Lovely, Quiet Apartment in the Middle of Aix
My husband and I stayed for almost 3 weeks at this beautiful walk-up apartment (65-ish steps, no elevator) in the heart of Aix. A 5-minute walk from the Cours Mirabeau, it is in a wonderfully walkable part of town, but because it's on a side street with double-paned windows, it feels perfectly secluded. The kitchen is a chef's dream, with induction stove, high-quality appliances, a surprising number of useful tools (mini food processor, juicer, nice chef knives, Nespresso machine, etc.) and a spacious dining table. My husband very much enjoyed his quick walks to the daily market at Place Richelme, where he got fresh produce to make delicious lunches and dinners. The air-conditioning worked great (very important in July!), as did the washer-dryer. Our check-in and check-out process was quick and easy-- Caroline's son came by to let us in on day 1, and he stopped by the night before we left to make sure everything was in order. A few small things to be aware of: the only available parking is paid, either at the edge of town (for relatively cheap) or in one of the nearby garages (for approximately 20€ per day). Caroline was extremely responsive and helpful when we messaged her about the check-in procedure, parking, Wifi access, and the trash policy, but it would be nice to have that information readily available online or in a document. Regarding the wifi: it was okay, not great. I took many video calls for work during our stay, and the quality was a little too low (average 3-13 mbps upload speed, high ping), resulting in some disruptions. For streaming/web browsing, it was totally fine. All in all, this apartment was amazing! Caroline and Tristan worked to make our stay in Aix as seamless and relaxing as possible, and we look forward to returning.
