Renter beware - rude host, dirty home, old pics on site, broken appliances, & maintenance required.
I am a regular user of VRBO as a host and as a traveler/guest.
Unfortunately this trip only went sideways when we reached the unit. Very important note the images on the site are about 10yrs old and the property is very run down. More specific details below:
1) the listing provides one address and the unit is in another address (one building over). Spent 40 min waiting for the host to reply to figure the difference in location upon arrival to the wrong address.
2) various doors do not close correctly because handles are broken and/or taped. Include the main door.
3) there is a camera recording on the entry way of the property that was not advertised
4) the refrigerator did not work upon arrival and they brought a portable one that was 2ft x 2ft for my whole stay (for a family of 8 during thanksgiving).
5) the built in kitchen stove did not work upon arrival so they brought a portable hot plate as an alternative.
6) the showers have products and soap that to the owner (or a person staying prior) and was not clean. Looks like someone was using the property that same morning.
7) the second bathroom shower curtain is full of black mold.
8) various room door handles came off when trying to access the rooms so we could not close them post that.
The worst part is that the host was notified (the morning post checkin late evening) and nothing happened. Maintenance was sent (we never saw) and nothing was fixed and of course neither the refrigerator and/or stove could be repaired prior or during the length of my stay.
If anyone wants pictures and videos I will be more than happy to provide as they were all supplied to VRBO and the host. The host on the site show Camille but we only had access to a gentleman names Franck.
In summary the title says it all.
