About this property

Relax and Unwind at the Creekside Cottage! Near wineries & dog friendly.

Enjoy relaxing to the sounds of the babbling creek while sipping wine in the hot tub or sitting around the fire pit! Just 10 minutes from the Bavarian Alps replica town of Helen, Georgia. Dog friendly & convenient to local wineries! Huge yard perfect for letting the kids explore.

Whether you're visiting the North Georgia mountains for a wedding, winery tours, one of our many festivals like Oktoberfest, admiring the fall leaves, a college graduation, a family vacation, or in hopes of striking it rich while panning for gold, we're certain that our home will be a place of rest and relaxation during your stay.

Visit the Bavarian Alps replica town of Helen, Georgia nestled in the Appalachian mountains of North Georgia. This area was once home to the mighty Cherokee. When settled by Europeans in the 1800's it became the site of the first U.S. gold rush. Then later became the quaint little German town it is today.

Come during late September through the end of October to not only enjoy the changing leaves, but also experience the Oktoberfest celebrations!

Our home is also an excellent place of respite for the adventurer! There are countless hiking trails, excellent roads for mountain biking, exceptional trout fishing waters, and more waterfalls than you can see on one trip.

Fun for the whole family too, with a waterpark, zip line adventures, horseback riding, river tubing, mini-golf, gold & gem mining, award-winning vineyards, a local brewery, unique shops, amish bakeries, antiquing, great local & German cuisine, and much more!

Our mountain cabin was built in 1997. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large living area, and a kitchen and dining area. Nearly 1000 sq. ft. of wrap around screened in porches to take in the fresh mountain air and sounds of running water. When you're ready to relax after a long day of exploring all the area has to offer, slip into the hot tub with a glass of wine or make s'mores by the camp fire out back.

There is a smart doorbell installed by the front door with audio and video recording capabilities for security purposes.

Great Place

This property was even better than the description. Clean, roomy, nice beds, and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The location was very convenient and the surroundings with the sound of the water from the creek was very peaceful. The owners made check in and check out easy. So thankful they are willing to share this cabin with us visitors. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Fun Get Away for Friends & Family Weekend at Truett Mcconnell University

The property was exactly as described. We enjoyed using the grill both nights, loved the creek area, and the hot tub. We enjoyed nearby Dukes Creek Falls, Anna Ruby Falls, Helen, GA, and the activities at Truett Mcconnell University in Cleveland. We will stay here again when in this area.

An Amazing Getaway for Families and Their Four-Legged Friends!

We recently stayed at this fantastic cabin and had an incredible time! The location was ideal, with paved roads leading directly to the property—no 4WD necessary. Both Helen and Cleveland are a short drive away, offering plenty of dining and shopping options. However, we found the kitchen in the cabin to be so well-equipped that we enjoyed cooking most of our meals at home. Our furry friends had a blast exploring the spacious surroundings, playing in the creek, and catching frisbees. The fully screened, wraparound porch was perfect for them to dry off before coming back inside. As for us, the beds and furniture were exceptionally comfortable, making it easy to relax after a day of adventures. The hot tub was a highlight—clean, well-maintained, and perfect for unwinding.Mitch, the owner, has truly thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. From s'mores supplies and firewood to dog toys and bug spray, we felt incredibly well taken care of. He was also very responsive and super nice whenever we had any questions. We can't wait to return and will definitely recommend this cabin to our friends. It's a perfect getaway spot for both humans and their four-legged companions!

Excellent Cabin Getaway!

There really isn’t enough nice things I can say about this place or the host! The location was perfect. The creek behind the cabin was so relaxing, especially sitting on the back porch. The entire porch was screened in and had toys inside and outside for kids to play with. Both bathrooms has tub/shower combo. Pack and plays were in closets for use for little ones. Each room had a tv with cable box. Beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked, even had a high chair. Very close to both Cleveland and Helen. Not even a five minute drive probably to both locations. The host was very accommodating and checked on us frequently. There were clear check in and check out instructions. I highly recommend this cabin for your next stay!!!!!!!!!

Christmas/Winter Getaway

Property is absolutely amazing with the backyard taking the prize. The fire pit, swing area by the stream, screened in porch and hot tub are very well taken care of and create a relaxing environment. We were there with our four children - 14, 13 and twins that are 12 and they loved it! The house is incredibly clean (the cleanest VRBO property I have ever stayed in) and cozy. Even if your children are younger this is a great property to stay at because they have toys and books to use. Excellent property!! Definitely book this one!!

Great and relaxing

We enjoyed our stay there at this cabin. It was very relaxing and in a very quiet neighborhood. The hot tub was a plus and relaxing. Our little dog enjoyed the privacy of the screen in porch. Also, behind the house was a stream with a swing that we loved to listen to with the water flowing. Great place to stay and we will be back.

Great Mountain Getaway

Our stay at the Creekside Cottage for Thanksgiving was great. Check-in was easy & the cabin is well appointed with comfy beds and linens, plenty of seating in the living area and a fully functional kitchen. We loved relaxing on the Adirondak chairs and swing down by the creek listening to the water. The fire pit was great for chilly evenings and making s'mores. Creekside Cottage is centrally located and convenient to many of our favorite hiking spots as well as to grocery stores and restaurants. The cabin is in the woods, but not in the middle of nowhere which was perfect for our family. The host Mitch was very responsive to questions and made the check in & check out process a breeze. We would happily stay at Creekside Cottage when we visit the area again!

Excellent Stay in Helen Area

We had booked this in order to visit the Helen area for the first time. Host was beyond accommodating and the communication was excellent. The property is well cared for and all the amenities were as advertised including the nice hot tub. Being able to sit down by the creek and relax was also a highlight. We had a baby and wish we had read the description better as we brought a lot of equipment like a portable crib and high chair that were not necessary! Well suited for kids. The location is wonderful as you are a short drive to Helen and grocery shopping is not too far away. We also enjoyed the proximity to hikes nearby and caught some great fall weather. Just be advised that you will have to pay some State Park Fees so if you do go visit plan your day accordingly.

Everything

This place was everything they said it was. All the streets are dead end so there was no thru traffic. The cabin was neat and clean and very well organized. Porch was screened in, so no bugs got in with ample rocking chairs to sit and just relax. Helen is only 4 miles away and on some of the most gorgeous roads in Georgia. If I had one bad thing to say is we didn't schedule enough time to really enjoy the cabin!

Great getaway location for an extended weekend

This is a great place to stay. It's centrally located, and it's a short drive to Helen or to the local Walmart. We were traveling with both toddlers and pets and had no issues. The creek was great, along with all the other amenities. If this is your first time going to the area, I recommend Stopping at the cheese shop and the JFG grocery. Both can be a bit crowded on weekends, but we have some of the best-aged steaks there for the grill at the property. The only negative is that a few of the younger women in the group were convinced they saw the yeti late in the evening. I did not personally see this but was told they heard something large moving in the woods, saw glowing eyes, etc. It did not help that one of the toddlers would stare off into the woods after dark and point. It was most likely a large raccoon or bear. Regardless, it would not prevent me from renting the house again.

End of summer getaway!

The Creekside Cottage was even more than we expected! The girls had a blast panning for gold (phyllite & mica) in the beautiful creek. The sand, pebbles, and silt glisten as the sun peeps through the trees. Very beautiful. Unfortunately, we had a couple of rainy days during our visit. The 3/4 wrap around screened in porch provided lots of space and laid back enjoyment! The cottage was well equipped, comfortable, spacious, clean and beautiful. Our hosts were very responsive. We really only reached out to thank them and let them know when we had arrived & checked out. The information binder answered any questions we had. There was a s’mores kit waiting for us, which the girls LOVED!!! That was such a thoughtful touch! The hot tub was very nice & clean. The grounds are beautifully landscaped; yet lots of natural plants and trees are along the perimeter, which add to the privacy. Our girls downloaded a plant ID app & had fun getting acquainted with new species. We came to the area to visit Helen, GA, but didn’t want to stay in town. We were about 15 minutes to the center of Helen. We plan to come back in the fall! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Quiet natural retreat

This really was our ideal stay. There were no issues whatsoever. The wraparound porch, hot tub, seating area at creek let us enjoy the evening sounds after long days at the nearby parks, waterfalls, tubing, etc. The house is incredibly clean and well stocked, we wanted for nothing! We will definitely return.

Our Family Vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Creekside Cottage. It was a wonderful retreat. Our hosts the Lathem’s were so kind and accommodating. They quickly answered any of our questions. The retreat was clean and very well stocked. It is a quiet and peaceful place. We loved that there were toys for our little ones. It was so close to all our activities and yet seemed secluded. Our family had so much fun. We definitely we recommend this retreat for families.
