Spacious home

Beautiful home. Well stocked kitchen. Bedrooms nice sized. Loved the wraparound porch. Beach about 1/4 mile away- we walked or drove to it every day, especially for sunrise and sunset. Pool is about 2 miles away- kids loved playing in pool and I loved relaxing in the lounge chairs and walking down to the beach from the pool. Our cell service was not great-AT&T. Local grocery store about 15 minutes away. The oven wasn't working while we were there but I'm sure that will be fixed quickly. We used the grill a lot which was nice. There's a small local aquarium nearby that several of us went to and enjoyed. Also, enjoyed going to several different beaches and seeing starfish, hermit crabs, etc! Would definitely stay again if we were going to be in the area.

This could be a really great stay but...

The house is spacious, with plenty of bathrooms. The porch was wonderful, although we did not try out the outdoor fireplace. I had difficulty getting the correct gate code, and the refrigerator did not work and appeared to have not worked for a while. There were several other items needing repair but these didn't significantly impact our stay. The host refunded us two of the three nights.

Great stay

Great property and area. Short and easy walk to the beach or you can drive and park. We never found the pool. It’s not in the area. We think it was in the adjoining area down the road but never found it. The area is under construction so there was construction noise during the day but it wasn’t bad.

Lovely spot on the coast

The property was just as described—lovely and perfectly situated. Most of the beds are quite soft, but there are so many you’ll have options. There were a few miscommunications with the property manager (the prior tenant must have had washer/dryer issues, and we didn’t get arrival instructions til we requested them en route), but they were so responsive and helpful that it was never a problem. Definitely recommend this spot for a big group looking for a beautiful and quiet beach vacation.

Second year at this property, very roomy place. It is secluded, and the water front is a short drive. Having a pool is excellent.

Nice location for a great vacation

House was close enough for many activities but far enough away for a relaxing vacation. Community beach is relaxing and private. If you walk towards Turkey Point it is beautiful. Nice community to take walks, there are 5 homes being built nearby and work being done on them all day long but not too noisy. During week the family caught well over a dozen types of fish. We had fresh caught fish a couple nights. Fishing was great at Alligator Point, St George and St Vincent islands. Bald Point park was nice to visit. We saw deer, a bear, alligator, turtle, dolphins, and many other animals during our daily activities. At the community beach, especially low tide we saw fish, birds, starfish, multiple types of crabs, and many types of seashells but almost all were live or had hermit crabs in them, even when it looks empty it's most likely has a hermit crab inside. We had a great family time even though it rained a lot more than expected. Water was murky 1st few days due to many storms but cleared up midweek. Water was clear at both St George island park and St Vincent Island - both are very nice and quiet family beaches. If you like God's creation, peace, tranquility and great beaches consider this rental and the wonderful "Forgotten Coast" of Florida which we will not forget!

Nice

2nd year staying here. Nice house, plenty of room for everyone. Beach area very secluded about a mile from house but we were able to park closer since there were no other people around when we were there. House could use a few little things like more seating (love seat and 2 chairs downstairs). Unable to use grill either time we stayed but we only mentioned it the last time and only right before we left so it may have been taken care of now. I would note...believe the signs about the bears. They are around! Overall it was a nice place to stay for the money!

Summer Camp Beach

Overall, the house was in great condition and everything worked as expected; it has an amazing screened in porch which beautifully captures the early morning sunrise - perfect for sipping coffee and pondering the day's plan. An extremely quiet neighborhood, walking distance to the private beach at Turkey Point; lively with Eagles, Osprey, Dolphins and even an occasional Black Bear sighting... nature's immersion

Secluded Getaway

We stayed at this property with our family of 4 and another family of 5 and had more than enough space to spread out and sleep. Kids loved having their own area upstairs at night and us adults could enjoy the main floor. The screened in porch was amazing for all of our outside gear and not having to track all the sand indoors! It was also a nice spot to sit in the morning to enjoy a cup of coffee or if it was raining. Most of all we enjoy the secluded feeling the location of this property offered, with not many other houses in this development we felt like we were staying in the woods with access to beautiful beaches all around us! The beach was a short walk or drive which we did not mind since our kids are a little older (10 and up) and once on the beach we hardly ever saw anyone else! We enjoyed fishing all week long and caught multiple different species of fish! The pool area is on the other side of the development so you do have to drive (again, we didn’t mind and knew this ahead of time) but once there we typically had the entire pool area to ourselves! Beautiful pool and super clean bathrooms/locker rooms in the pool area. The house was also very clean when we arrived, the kitchen was very well stocked and we appreciated the multitude of towels provided in the bathrooms. With not many restaurants around we enjoyed cooking every night. Thank you for a great stay, we hope to be back again some day!

Thanksgiving Getaway

Relaxing and remote. We are from a large metro area in Florida and was eager to get some remote time with our family while still being close to the beach and water. The Coastal Pines property delivered on this and would recommend for families.

Dirty and No Gas Fireplace and No CARE !!!

This is the first year I’ve rented here with the new property management. The place is filthy - holes in sheets - sand in beds whenever we checked in grill unusable , no gas for outside fireplace no latch on outsdoe garbage can enclosure ( to keep bears out ) so we had to pick up stroke out trash regularly . called the office severely times about all these issues several times and they did not rectify the situation ! we rented for a month and could never use the grill or porch fireplace . The washer is broken - there aren’t enough pots pans etc - it’s is NOT stocked . never had been — weve stayed there 5 years - and brought our own pots and pans and never used the grill . However this trip — seeALL the above !! Never again !The entire place needs a deep cleaning and — ugh . Lift up a couch cushion — disgusting ( yes there more - but i’m over fussing about it ) was a huge disappointment.

Hidden Paradise

Absolutely beautiful property. Pictures don’t do it justice. We fell in love with the house and spent many evenings on the porch. Some of the negative reviews we saw were about the location of the beach but actually the house is closer to the beach than the pool. The directions were not clear where the pool was and we had to ask someone we found in the community where it was. There were only a couple of small negatives we found. The house was clean but if your paying someone to do a good thorough cleaning there was a few things that was missed like the coffee pot and under the couch (the only reason we looked under the couch was looking for shoes). The WIFI was ok but it was horrible during the night and lagged real bad. It wasn’t a big thing because we like to stay busy outside but in the evening everyone likes to wind down and do their own thing. Not the worst thing that could happen but we kept losing electricity one evening and there was no way of contacting anyone because the phone line was down and there’s no service so you would have to drive to town which is 20 minutes away. We did find a couple bars for service after driving around and left a message. Everything else was so lovely! We highly enjoyed everyone around the area and we got to experience different sea life at the private beach. I highly recommend taking flashlights at night and walking down to the beach and exploring! It is definitely a great beach for kayaking and for smaller kids to wade around in but not swimming. Saint George beach is not that far and we drove their multiple times and enjoyed every minute! Honestly I think it’s a positive because you get to experience the different type of ocean life. All and all my kids said it was their favorite vacation so far. That is a big deal since all our kids are teens and it’s hard sometimes when they have disconnect from technology. It definitely was one of the fewest places we have stayed were we felt very safe.

Family vacation

We enjoyed the stay. Family really loved the area and activities offered for children. Had an issue with garbage disposal and upstairs bathroom door. Called for help and a maintenance tech was on site within an hour. Very helpful. The screened in porch is a huge bonus. Very good feedback from family.

LOVED this house!

This house was as listed and was very accommodating for our family of 6 adults. The house was clean and we especially enjoyed the screened in porch where we spent most of our time. The location was secluded and peaceful and we loved exploring the property. Turkey Point was our favorite. The pool is a car drive away but that was not a big deal for us. Our entire family loved the house and the location.

I think it’s important to understand what this house is and what it is not.

It is completely secluded and in a gated subdivision. We would go days without seeing anyone. Directions to the beach would have been nice and I would not call it a short walk. While you can do it, it is too far without bikes or at the very least a wagon. And beware of the biting flies, they come out at dusk and they are relentless and very ruthless. Because It is completely secluded, We were a little bored and had to work to find things to do. With that being said, the things we did were really fun and different. Every thing is at least 20 minutes away. There is also no shopping or cute little beach shops close by. I would definitely recommend taking your own beach chairs and tent because they are hard to find unless you drive a ways. The ocean is VERY shallow here. I think this would be good for small children, but my teenagers didn’t like it. On the up side it was pretty easy to kayak and we felt safe leaving the kayaks at night on the beach cabled to a tree. The kids saw several stingrays and when we were on the kayaks we saw dolphins about 10 feet away!! What a special treat!! That probably would not have been possible on a busy beach. We also found several starfish. As for the house, it is very spacious with plenty of room for the kids to hang out. We all loved the kitchen and cooked most of our meals at the house. I loved the master bedroom on the right! That bed and bedding is extremely comfortable, so much so I checked the tags so I can buy the same sheets and pillow. The upstairs kid beds did leave a little to be desired. My teenagers complained of a stiff back. My biggest issue with the house is the down stairs furniture. The house is built for 12 people but seating is limited and horribly uncomfortable. It also would have been nice to have some more board games. Overall the house is really cool and the neighborhood is awesome, Beautiful and serine, but we were bored at times. From what we found the Best beach was the Mexico City beach. Great waves and beach with lots of parking. The best place to shop was St George. Wakulla is a must do! It is a really neat spot with a very clear deep natural spring. It was cheap to take the whole family to and the boat tour was really cool. Kayaking at TNT Hideaway in Crawfordville was almost the highlight of our trip. We kayaked with manatees, turtles and alligators. Truly a once in a lifetime opportunity!!

Perfect!

Beautiful location! Had the beach almost completely to ourselves the whole week. Water was so clear and the tides went out quite far. We enjoyed looking for sea life at night. Saw lots of hermit crabs, sea snails, small (harmless) rays, horseshoe crabs, and starfish! Even saw a few dolphins early. The pool was not far and was very nice. There is nothing super close...but there are some wonderful places to eat about 30 mins away. Check out both Angelo and Sons locations for amazing fresh seafood. We visited St George Island one day...and we all preferred our own beach!!
