About this property

The 200 m² house has been restored recently and comfortable. It is set in an approximately 5 000 m² large land with meadows and pastures, about 330 m above sea level.

It is beautifully decorated and has a kitchen, dining room, living room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a superstructure with double bed and two covered porches, one with spectacular views to Siracusa's entire environment and its coasts.
From here you can even see Mount Etna. You can enjoy fantastic sunrises and sunsets.

The accommodation is suitable for six people, extra bed available for a small surcharge.

Now there is a pool with magnificent views that invites to linger.

There is also a barbecue available for our guests.

In summer you need no air conditioning due to the high altitude and the thick walls. For the colder months the house is equipped with a heating system.

You can do a lot and relax at the same time.

Herrliche Oase mit tollem Blick und herzlichen Gastgebern

Unser Aufenthalt in dem Haus war ein Traum. Ein verlängerter Sommer im Oktober. Man kommt aus dem SZ an den Pool mit Blick auf Ätna, das Meer und Sirakus. In dem Haus ist alles zur genüge vorhanden. Man kann toll auf der Veranda essen und am Pool die Zeit genießen. Die Bilder im Netz geben den richtigen Eindruck. Das Haus liegt ruhig und einsam auf mehr als 300 m Höhe. Man erreicht es in 10-15 min von der Autobahn. Für Ausflüge in die Umgebung ist es sehr gut geeignet. Wir waren am Ätna, in Syrkaus und den Barockstädten Noto und Ragusa und in Taormina. Die Cava Grande de Cassibile ist ein schöner Ausflug in die Natur ganz in der Nähe. Die Gastfreundschaft von Giorgio und Lucia, den Vermietern ist sehr herzlich. Selbst deren Hühner haben Eier für uns gelegt. Und Enzo von der Agentur hat uns nicht nur von der Autobahn zum Haus geführt, sondern auch tolle Tipps gegeben. Insgesamt ein perfekter Aufenthalt. Wir können Haus und Besitzer/Agentur nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

Sehr schön

Alles bestens, der Empfang war perfekt organisiert, für Essen und Trinken war am Ankunftstag gesorgt. Wunderschöne Aussicht. Allerdings muss man den Strom extra bezahlen (oberhalb einer gewissen Pauschale) was ich so sonst so noch nie gesehen habe, deshalb nur 4 statt 5 Sterne.

Home away from home

I stayed in this wonderful home for 3 weeks. I have stayed in many villas over the years in various countries, and this is among the best. The house is a true home from home, exceptionally well equipped and comfortable. The communication beforehand was great and I was met by Enzo whom I followed up to the house. Yes, it's a narrow and very windy road but after the first couple of times was absolutely fine. The house is very secluded and private with spectacular views. Due to the altitude, there was always a very pleasant breeze which made lying by the pool bearable as there are no parasols (due to the windiness of the setting). Giorgio and Lucia (the owners) were at the house to greet me and gave me a very warm welcome. The welcome package was by far the best I've ever had - including wine, olive oil (made from the olives in the house grounds), eggs (from their own hens), fresh fruits and vegetables (from their own garden), water, coffee, bread. I had actually been to the supermarket in Avola to stock up before I went to the villa - and pretty much everything I had bought was provided, so my advice would be not to do that before you arrive! The house itself is spotlessly clean and superbly equipped - there was nothing I needed that wasn't provided. It is about a 15-20 minute drive to the nearest town (Cassibile) and about 25-30 minutes to Avola / Noto, so a car is most definitely required. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my stay here and I will definitely be back!

Perfect rural getaway

My family and I recently spent a week at this amazing property. Its in a beautiful rural landscape at the end of a narrow track off a windy road (nothing to be concerned about if you're used to driving in Europe). There are magnificent views from the front of the house and pool over the hills to Ortigia with sea and Mt Etna in the distance. At the back, you can see then high cliffs which descend down to natural river gorge. We spent hours sitting outside taking in the scenery, listening to the sounds of nature and watching birds of prey soaring overhead. Theres a lovely beach a 20min drive away, and Syracuse and Noto are about half an hour. Its only 15 mins from the entrance to the Cavagrande Canyon which is an incredible place to explore. The property has everying you could need and is very comfortable - we never felt we needed to switch on the air-con the whole time we were there. Oh and the fruit from the trees grown around the property is out of this world!

Amazing place, amazing people

The villa and views are even better than the pictures suggest. The owners are delightful people who want you to have a great holiday - they go the extra mile to make sure the villa and grounds have everything you might need. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Villa cava is one of a kind

The villa is spatious and clean. The surroundings with a view on the Etna is superb. A perfect place to stay or to visit Syracuse, Noto, Ragusa and Villa Romana. Thank you Giorgio, Lucia and Enzo for your hospitality!

Nice house in great environment

The property is located aside the main roads and towns. It is very quiet in the middle of the hills with a great view on the mediteranian sea and the Etna. As there are basically no neighbours one can realy enjoy very relaxed holidays here. On the property one can find herbs and spices enriching the prepared food. The house is very spacy and with air condition easy to cool or heat. The owners are very friendly and warm hearted and are always of help in case of questions on the property or on sicily in general.

Perfect Getaway

This is a beautiful property in a quiet location with lovely views. The house is very comfortable with every need met. The owners provided fresh vegetables and fruit upon our arrival. The pool is beautiful and clean. The beds are comfortable and we all slept well. We highly recommend this property!

A wonderful stay. Amazing location with clear views to the sea and Syracuse, which is only a 35min drive away. On a clear morning you can see Etna too. The local town of Cassibile is about 15 mins drive down the twisty road. Whilst not the most pretty the people are very welcoming, there is an excellent small super market, and numerous food stores. The cafes are superb, selling also incredibly good and cheap midday lunches. We recommend the ragu arancini. The house is superbly appointed. Excellent kitchen, and loads of space both inside and out. Air con in every room if it gets hot! The twisty road up is not a big deal if you are used to European roads, and has a high safety wall, so don't let that put you off. The owners are so welcoming and helpful. A very generous care package is left at your arrival, including olive oil from their own orchard. Quite excellent.

Stunning views and tranquility

The property was clean, well-equipped and even better than the photographs. Enzo, the house agent, met us and led us up to the villa. There was torrential rain the day we arrived so we were very glad he was there. The road is very windy in parts, but we soon got used to it, using the horn as needed. Georgio and Lucia were there to greet us, they were so kind and friendly, despite our very limited Italian. They gave us home grown fruit and vegetables and their own olive oil, and there were enough basics to start us off plus a welcome bottle of wine! Georgio was sometimes tending the land very early in the morning but was never intrusive at all, just giving a cheery wave and checking we were ok. We had a wonderful stay, relaxing in the pool, enjoying the views and the wildlife, and having evening BBQs. The weather was fabulous after the first day. There are lots of lovely places to visit within easy reach, we especially enjoyed a boat trip from Ortigia, Syracuse archeology park, Noto and Ragusa. We did a day trip to Agrigento to see the Valley of the Temples but it was close to a three hour drive each way so with hindsight probably a bit too far. It was our first trip to Sicily and we will definitely be back!

Serenity and beauty

Exceptional experience all around. The house is as depicted in the VRBO photos--better. What can't be captured is the gracious reception, hospitality and practical accessibility of Enzo (property manager) and Georgio and Lucia (owners). We have rented many houses and apartments in Europe and this is our favorite. The kitchen and dining room(s) are remarkably well-equipped: we shopped at the wonderful market in Ortygia and cooked every night; what a joy to have all the cooking and dining utensils needed (weak link in other places we have stayed). Wi-fi worked great, especially considering how remote the house is. The only drawback is the ride up the mountain to get to this uniquely beautiful home: slow, blind switchback ascent may not be for everyone. Once we got used to it ("beep beep" warning around the curves) it got easier--and adventurous drivers (I'm an old far), may actually like it. Thank you, Enzo, Luana, Georgio and Lucia for an extraordinary week. We'll be back!

You wont be disappointed !

Superb property and superb hosts. Photos really don't do the property and pool justice. Most of all the view - A snow capped Etna is magnetic to see and look at. Some tips - not obligatory, but worth hiring a car with good ground clearance. We found Noto the best place to eat locally (30min drive) with a wide variety of nice restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets, a really nice place too. Don't miss the walks to Cava grande and especially Pantalica Necropolis. Taormina is a picture post card place, definately worth the trip together with Savoca. Needless to say Etna is a must, but be careful about the trip on offer at the cable car kiosk. Given the time again, I would have paid a little extra for a small group to go higher. The hosts - just really nice people. Enjoy !

Absolutely amazing

This is the 3rd property we stayed at while in Italy. It was an amazing home to stay in. The pool was perfect, the view was outstanding, and the house was everything you could want. But what made this place truly amazing where the hosts Giorgio & Licia, they went far and beyond to make our stay not only remarkable but incredibly memorable. I will definitely miss them and their beautiful home, and can’t recommend this property enough.

A perfect stay in a beautiful house

Enzo was brilliant and met us off the motorway to lead us to the house. Georgia and his wife were so welcoming and friendly. They had provided food for us and even thought to provided equipment for our baby which was greatly appreciated. Our daughter loved Georgio!! They gave us loads of recommendations of places to visit. The villa itself was beautiful and the views were outstanding. We had a very relaxing week. We would love to visit again.

Great house in a beautiful place

This was a lovely property in a vibrant and joyful part of Sicily. The house is large and comfortable and very quiet. The setting is rustic but with modern amenities and a lovely pool. The kitchen had everything we needed and we often ate out on the lovely patio. We really enjoyed our stay.

WAUW - bare WAUW!

Det er en lang snørklet opkørsel til huset, men det er i den grad køreturen værd. Huset ligger på toppen af en bakke omgivet af den skønneste natur og med udsigt direkte til Etna og ned over havet og Syracusa. Huset er meget lækkert istandsat med respekt for de originale detaljer og poolområdet er pragtfuldt. Både om dagen med Etna i baggrunden og om aftenen med de fjerne lys fra Syracusa. En vidunderlig og personlig velkomst var bare med til at gøre opholdet en til vidunderlig ferie.

Beautiful house with panoramic view

Leven als God in Sicilië

We hadden een heerlijk verblijf van twee weken in de villa van Georgio en Lucia. De villa is zeer mooi gelegen, zeer rustig en zeer goed uitgerust en het zwembad is zalig. Alles is uitstekend onderhouden en Georgio staat elke dag klaar mocht er een probleem zijn. We hadden geen betere vakantie kunnen wensen.

Bellissimo!! The perfect get away if you want peace and quiet and the pool with a view of Mont Etna!

We just had the best get away! We came here for our honeymoon and couldn’t have asked for more. We wanted to sit by the pool and do absolutely nothing… and that’s what we did. We loved every moment, be it by the pool, drinking Aperol watching the sunset or grilling fresh fish on the BBQ (all provided for). It was excellent. Enzo met us to drive to the property which was super helpful as it’s about 10/15mins from the main road. Georgio & his wife (the owners) were on site to greet us with fruit and veg from the farm. All of which tasted incredible. Georgio farms on the property but you don’t notice he’s there and it’s only for an hour a day, normally in the morning. They are so lovely and very welcoming. Overall it was excellent and I’d recommend to anyone. We were just two people but also great for families.

Ein wunderschönes Haus!

Wir wurden ganz herzlich von Lucia und Georgio empfangen, sie hatten sogar den Kühlschrank schon für uns gefüllt und es standen frisches Obst und Gemüse aus dem eigenen Garten bereit. Das Haus ist sehr großzügig, absolut sauber und wirklich bestens ausgestattet mit allem was man braucht. Wenn mal etwas nicht funktioniert hat, war Giorgio sofort zur Stelle um es auszutauschen; Pool und Garten wurden jeden Morgen kurz gereinigt und er kam immer mal wieder vorbei um den Müll zu leeren. Bei der Abreise kamen Lucia und Giorgio morgens sieben noch um sich zu verabschieden und uns ein kleines Abschiedsgeschenk zu überreichen. Es war ein traumhafter Aufenthalt!

Excellent. Strongly recommend.

The house is very cosy, in a beautiful garden with a pool and stunning views, set among pistachio fields. The owners are wonderful people and very welcoming. The house is about 1 hour from Catania, half a hour from Siracusa and Noto, and maybe 15 minutes to the closest beach. We did day trips in the morning and then relaxed by the pool in the afternoon. However, people that are not used to driving might find the 10 minute drive up curvy and narrow roads challenging.

Beautiful get away

After one week in nord of Sicily was this a big welcome. Close to city siracuse and beautiful beaches. Pretty cities like Noto and a lot of nature: flamingos, caves. The host was amazing; really hospitable! Always learning is something new: showing us the harder where is is proud of. The house is beautiful. (Slightly cold in may). A really nice swimming pool (max depth approx 150cm) we enjoyed our stay a lot. Really nice house, in a extremely nice area. Cows, rocks, fruit trees, and a lot of flowers. (Please note it’s up a hill, so you need to drive a few small curves, nothing to be afraid off)
