Inaccurate VBRO website- excess charges cleaning, sheets, towels
Spacious and quiet with responsive host. Was surprised there were no sheets or towels on arrival. Was told by host I didn’t book at rate that included this. This was not disclosed and not an option. Was additional $10/ person. ALSO told there was additional cleaning fee unless WE cleaned house. Neither were disclosed on VBRO booking of house (in English). Host showed me her booking in French that apparently DID disclose charges. This is unfortunate and preventable. We paid additional money for sheets and towels as my family from the US would NEVER have chosen this site with these conditions and had no other options. Host”waved” the additional undisclosed “ cleaning fee”. This was our 4th VBRO property we used on our trip to France. We did not have similar problems with other hosts and listings. We enjoy traveling and will likely choose OTHER booking sources and hosts if VBRO and properties cannot rectify this and treat their guests better. Have asked for $40 refund from host as this is problem between VBRO and her- she has NOT refunded money. VBRO has NOT responded. Very unfortunate and disappointing. Additional: keys do not work well, minimal toilet paper at site, no soap, unusual bathroom set up with toilet and no sink on first floor, and bathtub only on 2nd floor.
