This is a great rental property for families who want a convenient yet secluded vacation in the Riviera Maya. Villa Alegre offers proximity to many activities as well as the privacy to relax at the pool and beach. This is an inexpensive way to experience all of the excitement and beauty of the Riviera Maya with family or friends.
The Villas Arqueologicas are a complex of only 10 units with typical Mexican design and colors. They are located in the private Phase I area of Playacar and share a beautiful pool with outdoor BBQ and lounge area. Villa Alegre is a short one minute walk to the Caribbean Sea and less than two blocks from shopping, restaurants, and bars in Playa del Carmen. It is in a gated community with a private security force

CONVENIENT: There is large pool right outside the door, a seldom used beach with soft white sand and many shades of turquoise blue Caribbean Sea across the street and 2 blocks to the shops, restaurants and clubs of Playa del Carmen. It is on a quiet secluded street in a gated community with its own security force.

INEXPENSIVE FOR FAMILIES AND GROUPS: THERE IS NOTHEING LIKE BEING TOGETHER ALL IN ONE PLACE. FOR A LOT LESS THEAN 3 SEPARATE HOTEL ROOMS WOULD COST. One week in Playa Del Carmen
We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Alegre. The Playacar neighborhood is great with easy access to the beach. We usually had the pool to ourselves. Sergio checked on us throughout our stay and kept us with plenty of drinking water. It was perfect for our group of 8!

Great group accommodations in Playa
Villa Alegre is a great place to stay if you have a family or group looking to stay in Playa del Carmen. The house is impeccably clean and has everything you might need during your stay. It is spacious and despite the open layout (including a second floor with an atrium area that overlooks the first floor), it is very quiet inside each of the bedrooms. Our young boys woke up at the crack of dawn to watch TV each morning in the common area, but we were easily able to sleep in without a problem! We did not really use the kitchen, as there are many restaurants a short walk away, but from what I saw, the kitchen looked very well outfitted, and again, it was perfectly clean. Sergio, the caretaker, is very responsive and kept us stocked with filtered water. There were ample towels for pool and beach, as well as beach chairs, pool noodles, etc. If Playa is where you want to be, the house is very well located. There is a beach entrance a very short walk from the house, and it is an easy stroll to the main shopping and dining areas. We especially liked Pearl Pixan and Laura & Luca for dinner and breakfast, respectively. Overall, I would definitely recommend this property!

We couldn't ask for a better location for our vacation. This is our third year at this villa. The staff members that takes care of the accommodations are friendly and helpful. I give this villa a A+.

Wishing we were still there!
We were a group of 6 adults that stayed at Villa Alegre. The 2 story villa is very well equipped with pretty much everything you need. It is spacious with a large kitchen. The downstairs consists of the kitchen, living room, dining room & master bedroom with bathroom. Two sets of French doors open onto the veranda which has a table & chair set as well as an overhead ceiling fan. The veranda is covered and steps from it take you right to the pool. The upstairs has 2 bedrooms and a living room that also has 2 twin beds. Patio doors lead onto a balcony with a table and chairs & hammock and overlooks the pool. The villa is bright and nicely decorated. We found the beds firm and comfortable. The grounds are very nice with lots of trees and flowering shrubs and the pool is wonderful. The villa is located literally 2 to 3 minutes walk to the ocean. It is about a 5 minute walk to Playa del Carmen. The area is very quiet and relaxing. All of us in our group thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would definitely return again. I have rented 2 other places, one in Playa del Carmen (a penthouse condo on 26th calle & 1st Ave, which was located in Playa del Carmen and very noisy and a lovely house Paseo Shaman Ha in playacar and Villa Alegre is my favorite. We have done the all inclusives as well and we find that we prefer renting a villa as we love the closeness to playa and the freedom you have when you stay in a private home. Mark was wonderful to deal with during the process of renting this lovely villa. Also a huge thank you to Sergio who manages the Villa. He checked in with us at least once per day and brought us drinking water as needed. He is very kind and so nice and helpful. Don't hesitate in renting this property. You won't be disappointed! Thank you Mark & Sergio for making our stay so wonderful and relaxing!

Great place!!
Wife and I had a great time during our week's stay. Sleeping late and making breakfast in the large kitchen was a plus. Then going down to the beach was another attraction--beautiful sand and that green water were perfect. Beach is close enough walk to easily carry a beach chair and umbrella. And the pool is just outside the door. Playa is a great little town with plenty of restaurants for a variety of flavors just a short stroll down the street. Or you can take an inexpensive cab ride. We'll definitely come back and we encourage all to visit.

Fantastic location, lovely home
We loved our stay here over New Year and would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing stay just a short walk from all the action. Booking was so easy, and we were welcomed by Sergio who took care to show us the house and make sure we had everything we needed. The house felt like a home; with nice art and bookshelves lining the walls. We spent the days by the pool - which is lovely - and made use of the poolside grill, exploring the nightlife of Playa in the evenings. Thanks to Mark for having us, and to Sergio, all the best! Peaceful Spot Close to the Action
Everything was exactly as described. Beautiful pool, very quiet and peaceful. Yet within walking distance (three blocks) of Central Playa where all the action is! Private beach one block away, never crowded. Spent two weeks enjoying this house and surrounding area. Playa del Carmen is a great vacation spot for families. Great restaurants, shopping and water sports all nearby. House came with maid service and local contact to deal with any problems (though there were none). Owner was very accommodating, quick to email and very knowledgeable about the local scene. We had a great family vacation. Can't wait to visit again!

home is charming authentic paradise
Our family of 4 spent a week in this lovely abode. Quiet peaceful secluded neighborhood; BEST LOCATION IN PLAYA...2 minute walk to town, where all the action is. Tons of great inexpensive restaurants nearby where you can have a beer, drink out of a coconut, run your toes through the sand, and munch on some delicious local cuisine. Friendly helpful people everywhere. Felt most safe. The house is in a gated community with full time security. The home is shaded and cozy. The pool is steps away from the porch, and the beach is a one minute walk away. The bedrooms are large and the beds very comfortable. Slept like a baby all 8 nights. The kitchen is spacious and we cooked many great meals on the gas stove. The housekeeper and the caretaker were wonderful and supplied us with fresh bottled water daily. The house has all the beach supplies necessary, hats umbrellas, chairs. We rented a car for one day only to see the ruins. Don't need a car. Taxis everywhere. Yoga and pilates in town too! The beach is beautiful, serene, quiet, almost private, away from the high rises and long walks along the water are a must. Body surfing in gentle waves .....great for kids and baby boomers. So many options in Playa; go to Blue Parrot and dance the night away, drink tequila with every kind of juice one can think of, or rest and relax in hammock on upstairs deck. Great place for a family vacation or a getaway for romance, or just to unwind. No stress at this abode! We will be back!
