Relax and enjoy the simple pleasures in our charming two bedroom cottage on Hutchins Lake on a secluded wooded lot with beautiful views of the lake and Crane Orchards.

Unwind on 120 feet of lake frontage with sunbathing, swimming, and fishing. Experience the peace and tranquility of Hutchins Lake with an early morning ride on our kayaks, canoe, and stand up paddle board.

Brower Cottage is located in Fennville Michigan, about 10 minutes from Saugatuck, Douglas, and Lake Michigan beaches. We are about a two hour drive from the Chicago loop.

Take a short drive to Oval Beach in Saugatuck to watch the sunsets on Lake Michigan or visit the tasting rooms at Fenn Valley vineyards and wine cellar. Shop for antiques and art at the shops and galleries in the Saugatuck / Douglas area. Walking distance from Crane Orchards and Pie Pantry for delicious fresh baked pies, sweet cherry picking in the spring, peach picking in the summer, and apple picking in the fall. Minutes from the Saugatuck Dunes State Park for hiking and cross country skiing.

Michigan Lake Life!

First time stay in the Brower Cottage and what a relaxing week it was. Family of 6 with 4 boys ages 11-15 and two poodles. Accommodations were fabulous and well appointed. We enjoyed running around Hutchins Lake, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming and fishing from the dock. Played lots of euchre, watched the Olympics and movies, and grilled out. Purchased groceries in Fennville and Douglas. Enjoyed meals in Saugatuck, Douglas, Fennville, and Holland. Rented a boat in Saugatuck. Hiked up Mt Baldhead and down to Oval beach, took our poodles to Saugatuck Dunes State Park, ran an interval workout at Fennville High School, picked peaches at Cranes, and shopped in Saugtuck and Holland. We felt closer as a family and restored after the relaxing week.

Fall Getaway

My wife and I stayed at Brower Cottage for a week. The cottage is spotless and very updated. The wall of windows looking out on the lake is beautiful. Loved that were were able to bring our dog. Great location - easy to explore nearby Saugatuck/Douglas and Macatawa/Holland. Communication with hosts was great. Would highly recommend!

Relaxing

We have stayed at Brower Cottage seven times. It's our dream get away. We also bring our dog, who loves swimming in the lake. Good food is near by and of course, Crane's pies. The owner is very easy to work with and very dependable. We will be back!

Our One and Only for a Great Michigan Getaway

Our third of fourth visit to Brower Cottage., everything about Joe and Jamie's cozy butt extremely well furnished and equipped. Home is first-rate. And any time a question or a problem occasionally surfaces, or hosts couldn't have been more prompt and helpful in responding.

Very special place!

Brower cottage did not disappoint! The views from the living room are picture perfect, especially when sitting in the comfy chair and ottoman. All the furnishings were attractive and comfortable, including the beds. We enjoyed watching our favorite shows on TV and listening to my Pandora stations. The kitchen had all the cookware, utensils and dishes I needed to fix meals. The cottage was also well stocked with paper goods and cleaning supplies. I didn't have to buy anything! My grandsons came for a visit for a few days. They loved the bunk beds, playing on the dock and swimming. We did do some exploring in the area. . . the Outdoor Discovery Center, shopping in Holland and Saugatuck and visiting Windmill Island Gardens. The flowers everywhere were beautiful. Of course, being close to Crane's Restaurant and Pie Pantry, and their U-pick orchards was a real bonus. They have 30,000 trees! Anytime I had a question or concern the owner was quick to answer my messages and offer his help. I will definitely stay at Brower cottage again.

Brower Cottage - an excellent week

Brower Cottage on Hutchins Lake was perfect for our extended family we had three couples, 2 infants and 2 dogs for the week. The property was well maintained and beautiful. The house was very clean with a lot of updates. The kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, spices, oils - making our stay welcome and very comfortable. The hosts, Joe and Jamie, were easy to communicate with - the whole week was just a great family memory..

Another wonderful visit

This was our second time staying at Brower Cottage. We were happy to have perfect weather and be able to use the canoe and kayaks…perfect for our kids to learn and practice some independence on the water in a safe space. It was great! The cottage itself is so nice and cozy. The area is charming. We hope to return in the future!

We love Brower Cottage

Brower Cottage is a great place to stay in the area. Very peaceful, lakefront with a pier. We caught some big fish, including a pike, right off the pier. The home is very well cared for and clean. The hosts are the best. Have come here 4 times now and will keep coming back. Just perfect for a get away, very close to many things but still removed from the Saugatuck crowds.

Always a wonderful stay!

I have been a frequent visitor to Brower Cottage over the last 7 or 8 years. The area and the Cottage never disappoint. Hutchins Lake is beautiful no matter what the weather, and there is much to do, see, and explore in the charming towns of Saugatuck, Douglas and Fennville. The Cottage provides a delightful and comfortable base. A great place for adults and children alike!

Perfect Stay

We had such a great trip coming up here to stay. Perfect location close to downtown and wineries. Deck, fire pit, and dock are all you need for a weekend away. Owners are truly the kindest people. House well stocked with everything you would need. We definitely hope to come back for another girl's trip!

Third year of wonderful!

Another wonderful time even if quite chilly. It didn’t stop the children from going swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding. The cottage was clean and comfortable as usual. Unfortunately, the grill was not clean. But, with some elbow grease we were able to grill. Thanks again, Joe. We look forward to next year.

Total Relaxation

The cottage is lovely and the owners have equipped it with everything you need to move right in and relax. The well appointed kitchen allows for easy meal prep. Puzzles and games assure you will have something to do on rainy days. The owners are available should you need them, but communicate well and take such good care of the cottage you are unlikely to need anything.

Love that lake life!

We were fortunate to have another wonderful stay at Brower Cottage, which is extremely well-appointed with kitchenware and water toys. The kids were in the water the whole time, fishing, swimming and paddling around with the kayak, canoe and paddle board. We put together one of the many puzzles on a cloudy morning, and the kids had a blast with the board games and smart TV in the evening while we took in magical sunsets down at the water. Our dog was living his best life playing fetch all week as well. Perfect way to cap off our summer! Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful lake house.

If I Could I Would Give this a 6 out 5 Stars - Great Property!

We just got back from a wonderful week at the Brower cottage. It was my family - 2 kids 9 & 11 and our year and half old lab. This was ideal for everyone including the dog. The access to the water is fantastic! The dog and kids played for hours in the water just off the dock. They had multiple kayaks, a paddle board, and a big "lily" pad the the girls loved using and playing on. The cottage was perfect for our family and in pristine condition. We were only 10-15 minutes from downtown Douglas and Saugatuck and only 5 minutes from downtown Fennville. We loved the fact that our dog was able to come with us and participate in the vacation. It was an awesome cottage that made for a great vacation.

Great place for a vacation

Brower Cottage is always fun and relaxing. Provides all the things you want in a vacation stay. Really enjoyed the canoe, kayaks, and fishing from the dock. We especially enjoyed having a campfire by the water after a day of fun on the water or partaking of the many local things to do. Owners are great to work with and very accommodating.
