GREAT VALUE! The perfect cabin in the woods, 15 minutes away from Deep Creek.
Welcome to Fern Hill Cabin with a spacious living room, kitchen, a cozy loft with a queen bed and futon and private bedroom with a queen bed. On the first floor there's a full bath and on the second floor a 1/2 bath. You'll love spending time on the screened porch or just relaxing around the campfire. A short drive will get you to all the great spots the Deep Creek area has to offer. Please be advised a 4-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle is needed for the winter months. My recommendation is from Nov. 1 to Apr. 15. Roads are plowed but the area can receive several inches of snow at any one time. Please be advised we provide no towels or linens for beds. Please bring your towels, sheets and pillowcases for queen beds (king size sheets would also work).

We enjoyed our stay. The only issue was that we wanted to watch the NCAA Basketball tournament, but with only streaming services available on the TV, we had difficulty with that. Otherwise, the cabin was exactly as we expected it to be.
Beautiful location and a clean and lovely cabin. Perfect for our family of three. Hosts responded quickly to questions and helped us navigate some unexpected weather. We'll be back soon!
We stayed in this cabin, a handful of times it’s definitely peace and solitude! This last trip was definitely a very nice snow trip. The snowy scenery was beautiful. The plow truck was there and even shoveled our steps to the place. Can’t asked for anything more than that. we will be planning our next trip soon.
Spent Labor day weekend here, and loved every second! Had everything we needed and more. Loved walking the trail behind the house, and having coffee on the porch while the fog rolled in. A gorgeous stay, we're already planning our return!
My husband and I had a lovely stay at the cabin. It was the cleanest property we have used to date and the check in process was seamless. The weather was gloomy, but the cozy cabin made the trip no less memorable. We had everything we needed. The screened in porch was our favorite spot for coffee and watching the sunset.
We were on our way to my son’s college football game at Fairmont State and Susan let us check in early on our way through to his game. Cabin is great and very clean. It was raining so we set on the screened porches and relaxed. Short drive to Deep Creek Lake Highly recommend this location and will be back.
We throughly enjoyed the cabin. Perfect place to celebrate our anniversary and retirement Loved watching the chipmunks and listening to the woodpeckers while we had our morning coffee.
The cabin was perfect for the two of us. Spent most of our time on the back porch It is very comfortably laid out. Walked the trail behind the cabin. Sat at the fire pit during the day
Love the isolation of the cabin. We did manage to go on road trips to Swallow Falls, Blackwater Falls, and Albert falls
Discovered an awesome pizza place in Oakland on our way back from Blackwater Falls. Ari’s pizza.
The cabin was exactly what we hoped it would be. It was cozy and quiet, yet centrally located for our weekend trip. Susan was responsive and helpful any time we had questions. We’re definitely planning to return. Thanks for everything, Susan!
Pleasant and comfortable getaway spot with great hosts
My brother, sister, and I came here for a sibling getaway and were very pleased with the experience. The hosts communicated well and were accessible throughout—the house rules were minimal and common sense. Check-in was simple, and we were grateful to be allowed in a couple hours early! The cabin itself is homey, clean, and well-stocked. Couches, beds, and outdoor seating were all very comfortable. Good kitchen space.
There are a few other cabins in the area, and because it was early spring when we came, there wasn't much foliage to hide them from view. However, the neighbors were quiet and we enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying the fire pit and scenery.
All in all, a great experience, and we hope to come back again soon!
Wonderful place to relax and unplug! Cabin was very clean, modern and well stocked. Beds comfy. Kitchen had everything we needed. Shower had great pressure. Stayed very warm even with it being negative temps outside. Enjoyed the little fireplace heater in the living room. Loved sitting in the loft on the rocking chair watching out the big windows as the snow fell. Enjoyed watching the birds at the feeders. Very quiet area, nice little hike in the woods. Owner was wonderful at communicating and gave us great advice about the area. It snowed about 18 inches while we were there, they were great about plowing the driveway. The screened porch would be a wonderful place to enjoy in warmer weather. Enjoyed winter hiking at Swallow Falls State Park and XC skiing at Herrington Manor State Park. Highly recommend!
We (3 gals over 55) loved our stay in the cabin in the woods! It is very well stocked with amenities. Very nice setting with fire pit and screened in porch. Bring sausage and not bacon as you cannot cook bacon in the house per house rules. Also, it’s a bring your own sheets and towels. All in all it’s a cozy place! Very clean!
The cabin was clean, cozy and well stocked. It rained for most of our trip and we hung out on the screened in porch just taking in the beautiful scenery and quiet neighborhood. Would definitely book again.

You can travel around the area and enjoy all Garrett Co has to offer or just relax at the cabin with a camp fire, on the porch or inside the cabin relaxing with a good book or movie. A short trail will lead you to a bench where you can sit and relax surrounded by the solitude of the woods.
