A Bug's PUBLIC Life
Husband & I had to be prescribed steroids for the FLEA bites. What's more, there are no blinds in the children's room. There are no blinds for the living room & dining area, which is creepy b.c there is a camera on the deck that's aimed for viewing inside the cabin in the mentioned living room & dining area. LOVED the view & the quiet neighborhood, but the lack/invasion of privacy coupled with fleas is a no-go. It's really too bad for us b.c the view is to die for.
The wife and I celebrated our 35th anniversary at this nice quiet cabin and absolutely loved it. It is convenient to West Jefferson, our favorite little town and it has all you could ask for. I did put 4 stars for the accuracy of the listing, simply because of the driveway up to the cabin. I drove my truck, as I normally do on these trips but seldom do I need to put it in 4WD but I did on this trip in order to turn the truck around to park at the house. It was not an issue for us but just know it is a little steep and the loose gravel makes it a bit difficult to turn around or back up at the top. Overall, loved it and hopefully will be back.
This is a well stocked cabin with a beautiful view. It is very quiet. Parking is very limited and the walkway leading up to the cabin needs work. But the cabin has good room, good kitchen, all appliances work well, good wi-fi and good TV. Elderly or handicapped people might find the walkway a challenge.
Excellent cabin we spent New Year's Eve in this place it was amazing the tranquility the views from the cabin one of my best moments my children enjoyed very much the walks through the mountain the owners are pe diente of your arrival we loved it we would repeat this place. You need a proper car to go up.
Love everything about this property. The veiw is amazing. The house is beautiful. Not to far from Walmart and restaurants. Could sit on that porch the rest of my life. Thanks for sharing you wonderful property
My friends and I enjoyed a must needed girls weekend. We had an absolute great time. We loved the quiet and peaceful feeling of the house and the view is to die for! The house is decorated very well and the kitchen is really nice. I would say the cleaning could be better, especially during these times it is more important to highly clean surfaces for everyone's safety. Also, the steps leading up to the house are a bit rough so please be careful going up and down. Anyone with any trouble walking would need to use extreme caution! It could use some new stepping stones.
Overall, it was a great experience and we would definitely visit again! The town is super cute and the drive is not bad at all!
My hubby and I very much enjoyed our long weekend at the cabin! It was late April and we were not expecting a cold spell but you never know when you visit the mountains. It was indeed chilly. It took a while the first day for the cabin to warm up but once it did, it was perfect. My hubby loved the little wall heaters in the bathrooms because you could get it nice and warm in there before showering. Speaking of the bathrooms...they have the best water pressure (in the shower) ever! Everything was well stocked in case you forgot anything and the cabin was super clean. We were able to utilize the fire pit and the fireplace on the one night it rained. I have a Subaru so the roads in the neighborhood were no issue for me. I could see it being a little tricky during bad weather but again, they were no problem for me. The cabin is close to West Jefferson and convenient to groceries and restaurants. Sunrises, sunsets, wildlife (lots of deer that we could see from the porch), waterfalls...check, check, check and check. I would totally recommend this pace in a heartbeat!
When they warn in the listing for us all to have a 4WD, definitely follow that advice!! The rain made the dirt roads muddy. We got stuck several times going up the steep hills. The walkways were uneven, very icy and dangerous to walk on, so beware.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience and one that we will be talking about forever!! It was the kind of adventure that my just turned 21 year old daughter was looking for! She’s an aspiring writer and I’m sure that one day she will have this story written. It is a very cozy cabin in the woods and we felt at home there. It was a great fit for the 6 of us to enjoy some safe at home drinking, games, and fun!! We would definitely like to return, but in a less wet and more dry season, Lol
After the icy start, we had a wonderful time. My wife’s wish for Christmas was to be able to see and experience snow. The icy start was ice on the road going in and even my 4-wheel drive doesn’t work to well on ice. The house was very nice and the sunrises were spectacular. Had two to three inches of snow when we got up on Wednesday morning and it was white as far as the eye could see. Beautiful! The fire in the fireplace was great. I could see us going back in either the spring or fall in the future.

Between having two young children, owning our own business, managing a full time job and a home, life is busy and full. My husband and I crave a remote spot where we can unplug and recharge. A place where we can explore, our children can adventure in the mountain air, and we can rejuvenate and relax. We live a couple hours away from the cabin, but we have a wonderful cleaner that helps us maintain the property and we are available by text or email anytime. Please feel free to contact me via this site with any questions. Once you reserve, you may text or call with any questions. I will be in touch about 2 weeks prior to your visit with many details.
