I loved it…. From the time I opened the door, it felt like home. Very clean, comfortable beds, kitchen utensils pots, pans etc. everything you might need. Nice quiet neighborhood. Hope to come back and spend more time on the lake
We always love staying at this property. We appreciate the lake, the small town, the easy drives to hikes, fun restaurants and shopping and the banana bread provided by the owners! It is clean, comfortable (really the living room is the most comfortable we've encountered in our many years of VRBO rentals), and always fun.
We had to come to town for a funeral and it was so great to come back to a place that felt like a home. The thought and love that was put into house was felt. After emotional days it was the perfect escape we all needed.
The property was great, the grandkids love being able to catch a few fish right out back. It had everything we needed, very clean and Annette was great!
Once again this property didn't disappoint! It was a great few days full of relaxation with the family. Every year we visit Manteno and always know where we want to stay. The best part was the fresh homemade banana bread!!!
We enjoyed our stay. The listing was spot on and the house was comfortable. We enjoyed the downtown area and grocery store was close by. Would stay there again.
The property was clean and cozy and the kitchen was well equipped. The hosts were quick to respond when I contacted them about checking in a bit late and was surprised to find a homemade banana nut bread waiting for me on my arrival. That and the coffee in the pantry were great the next morning. I would recommend this property.
Our stay at the Lakehouse in Manteno, IL. was excellent! The Lakehouse has been completely upgraded since our host Annette's time growing up in it. The furnishings and decor are very comfortable and appealling. The location on the lake and the proximity to downtown Manteno are definitely an assest for this rental for a family visit. We really recommend this property and acknowledge our hosts, Annette and Rondy, for providing such a quality rental property!
Loved the house! Very clean with big bedrooms, back yard was great for the kids and a barbecue. Walking distance to town and the beach club. We will make it a yearly thing.
This house was perfect for our family. Annette and Rondy were very accommodating. When an issue came up out of their control, they quickly helped to figure it out. The pond in the back was a highlight for us as our son could fish and use the paddleboat. We fell in love with this town! If we are ever back in this area we will definitely be staying here again!
We had a great time at Annette's place! Probably one of the best rentals we have ever stayed in. It was super clean, the location was great, the property itself was just spectacular. Annette is a great host and we would love to return!
This was our second visit to this home. Sometimes, repeating a trip is like a sequel and doesn't feel quite as good as the original, but this trip was just as good or better than our last one. The house is perfectly clean and well-stocked. We fished, sat by a fire every night, walked to get ice cream and breakfast on Main Street (just half a mile away). This home is far enough away to feel like a vacation and the small town feel is wonderful and also feels like a special treat. The owners remembered it was our anniversary weekend, though I didn't mention it again this year, and left us homemade banana bread. Everything about our trip and this home and our hosts was relaxing and comfortable. This is our new favorite place to get away, relax and reconnect.
Our stay was short, but a pleasure! The home was clean, spacious, and stunning. The owners were so amazing with communication and keeping us informed. They also went above and beyond to make our late night arrival a seamless and welcoming. The town is one of the most darling towns I have ever seen. If you want to go out for breakfast or lunch, Yannis diner is incredible comfort food. I wanted to eat every meal there even though we originally intended on eating at the rental. If I ever need to come to the area again, I will stay here if it is available. Thank you so much for your hospitality and incredible stay.
Annette was an extremely helpful and accommodating host. We were attending a wedding (husband was best man) and the groom has some very serious and extensive allergies to fragrances and nuts, so we asked for all bedding and towels to be washed in special free & clear detergent, and several other extras steps to make sure we would stay safe to be around the groom. Annette was very willing to take these additional steps (for a reasonable extra cleaning fee) and we appreciated it very very much.
The house was very clean and I liked the decor (my little kids especially liked the whale art in their bedroom). The neighborhood was quiet and safe. If we have to visit the area again, we will definitely stay here.
We were both born and raised here in Manteno. Rondy has been a volunteer firefighter and a lab manager at Bunge Oils. Annette was a cake decorator before delivering mail out of the Manteno Post Office. We raised our family, coaching kids sports in the summer, fishing, swimming, ice skating, and cross country skiing. Community service has always been a big part of our lives. We are active at our church, are active members of the Manteno Sportsman's Club, and helped manage the Manteno Golf Club. We are glad to share the history of Manteno with our guests from all over the world. We feel like we are "ambassadors" of Manteno, which we call "the small town with a BIG future."
