Ideally located in the Cannonborough Elliotborough neighborhood of Charleston, this one-bedroom carriage house provides a wonderful taste of the city's history and charm, as well as easy walking access to an endless assortment of restaurants, landmarks, and boutiques downtown. This comfortable space is accented by original hardwood floors, a full bathroom on each of the two levels, a private washer/dryer for your ease and convenience, and a fully equipped kitchen with every essential. Charming Location
Visited Charleston as part of a longer vacation/road trip. The carriage house was charming, with a blend of history and modern conveniences. It was a nice and convenient location. The only downfall to our stay was the neighbors located behind the property. We arrived before 5pm on a Saturday and the neighbors were having a party. Their yard sits right next to the living room and just below the bedroom. They were LOUD. They were drinking, playing techno music, and carrying on just past 11pm. After a day on the road, we just wanted to relax and couldn’t even carry on a conversation in the house they were so loud. We assume they live there given the mess they left in the yard and that we saw them again the following Tuesday.

Charming home in a great location
The home was clean and cozy. It is well situated in the medical district and an easy walk to King Street and shopping/restaurants.

clean and stress-free
Very clean and easy keyless entry. Parking spot was tight, but appreciated off street. Walking distance to King St, but about a 30 minute walk to the French Quarter area. Pet friendly area, but limited outdoor dining for pets to go with you.

Great place, just wish checkout was 11am instead of at 10am. We would stay there again.

Good location
Quiet area except for a few airplanes and helicopters, two bathrooms a plus, stove needs replacing and bathrooms could use a freash coat of paint and general updating. Tastefully decorated. Beautiful sycamore tree outside, need to cover those roots and bricks to avoid tripping. Near bakeries and restaurants. Off street parking a plus , a little tight but OK.

Loved this cozy and well-appointed carriage house. It was perfect to set the vibe for a stay in such a historic gem as Charleston. Wonderful neighborhood and made us feel like we lived in Charleston - if only for a few days.

Met our requirements but not great.
Our experience there was a mixed bag. The good points I can list: The keypad door lock meant we didn’t have to mess with keys. The A/C and heat worked well. Shower water pressure and temperatures were good. The bed was very comfortable once you managed to climb into it. My wife had to use the steps provided to get into it. The internet worked well as did the TV with streaming apps and cable. Having 2 bathrooms, one up and one down was definitely a plus. The downsides: Furniture other than the bed was awful. Extremely uncomfortable couch and one awkward easy chair in the main room. No chairs at all on the 2nd level – a problem with the high bed. Arrangement of the couch in the main room made watching TV difficult. The kitchen appliances were iffy. The dishwasher upper rack threatened to fall out every time it was pulled out. The dishwasher was so loud, we went upstairs to the TV. The stove has a burner that didn’t work. The microwave worked but was probably the slowest microwave I’ve ever used. Coffee maker and toaster both worked well. Fridge was not fancy but worked well. The spray for the kitchen sink didn’t work. The place is advertised as sleeping 4, with two on the sofa bed. Interestingly, there are only two chairs for the dining table. My impression is more of mix of "charming" with “first off-campus apartment for a college student – and not a very expensive one at that." The property manager didn't do anything about our reported problems.

Beautiful home
The guest home we stayed in was located behind the main house making it secluded enough to enjoy the patio without any disturbances. The driveway is a bit tight so a sedan or similarly small vehicle is suggested. The walk to the Citadel and King St was beautiful as well. We would definitely stay here again.

A lovely spot
A beautiful home, nicely furnished and equipped, very comfortable. The small outdoor space was an unanticipated bonus! Just one thing to keep in mind: the house is only one house away from a rather busy street. I found that leaving the air conditioning on deadened most of the vicarious sound, but not entirely. It’s a pleasant walk to most of what you want to see — including the great Vern’s Restaurant— and it’s lovely to feel in a neighbourhood rather than in a commercial zone.

Cozy
Everything we needed. Super cozy, just the right size, super clean. We loved how it was old but modern. You could see and feel the craftsmanship of the original builders but felt the new modern updates.

Cannonborough getaway
Location was great. Had everything we needed. Nice, safe street. About 1/2 mile from upper king street (5 to 6 blocks). Expect to walk more than a mile to get to the market. We did it several times, so very doable. Parking is tight and driveway is narrow. it does have a marked space.

Adorable historic house close to downtown Charleston
Cute historic house. Property management company (Vacas) was great to work with. Please provide the same details they provide on the VRBO site (ie, we walked to the front door, not knowing we had to walk around back to the Carriage House, until we checked in with the VACASA app).

Light and bright 2 floor apt in Charleston
This apt. was a bit outside the main touristy area but close enough for a medium walk or a short drive there. There were cute restaurants nearby. The apt. itself is charming and historical in its own right yet very well maintained inside.
