Staying on top of Blue Knob Mountain was a perfect locale for our church youth group. The house is just off the slopes, demanding a short walk to get to and on the hill. The house has terrific heat and a wonderfully responsive owner. The check-in process with the key was simple and straightforward. While there was a small cleanliness issue with the dishwasher, we took care of it simply by having two empty dishwasher loads run and voila, it was solved. It's a simple set-up, but just right for our size. Would recommend!
The location is perfect for skiers and snow boarders. We didn’t have good snow while we were there but still had a fun time being around friends. Erik keeps the place clean and the checkin/checkout process was easy. I would book this place again.
We loved the location for a ski trip. It was easy to ski in/out. Plenty of room for our group of 13. We had to communicate with the host a couple of times as our plans changed, and he was always available. We will definitely be staying here the next time we come back to blue knob.
Despite the weather not cooperating this year for snow in Pa, we still enjoyed our stay in the cabin! It was so close to the lodge so we just walked up the road to get our lift tickets. If there was snow it looks like you could walk and maybe ski/board down on to the slopes. We had the mountain to ourselves and the cabin was perfect for coming back to eat lunch and enjoy the big deck outside. Everything was very clean. The owner did warn us ahead of time about the stairs, and they were as advised very steep and kinda difficult for my husband who is 6ft to get down...so we just stayed upstairs. No complaints at all, will definitely come back when (hopefully) blue knob has snow! Only minor issue was the fire alarm went off when we got there due to low battery so we just hid it downstairs under some pillows and let the owner know.
It has been over 25 years since I visited Blue Knob and needless to stay it did not disappoint. After some cold weather Christmas week we were delighted to arrive to a winter wonderland in 12/26/22. Our stay was until 12/30 with two families and the house did not disappoint. The kids stayed on the lower level and the adults on the upper level. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Our kids were able to ski in/ ski out with a little bit of hiking(definitely ski in/ski out home for all with more snow). The adults chose to drive to the lodge as it was not very crowded. Erik & Maggie were excellent hosts and we hope to book again.
Everything was fine and clean. The Hiking trails are great, and the ski slopes are within walking distance. There was something that smelled next to the refrigerator. Not sure if it was in the carpet or maybe in the wall
We had a lovely stay at the chalet. It is right on top of the mountain, so we were able to walk out with our skis and do a run before even having to hit a lift. We had never been to Blue Knob before and were pleasantly surprised by the terrain and relaxed vibe of the resort.
The inside of the chalet is rustic but very cozy. It was bigger than it appears in the pictures, and we had more than enough space for two families with small kids. There are nice living spaces on both floors, which let the grown ups have a nice place to relax after skiing while the kids spread out downstairs.
The owners were very responsive and lovely hosts. We hope to return next year!
Property was clean and very well stocked with essentials (paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, dish soap, etc.) We planned for the kids to ski most of the time, but the weather did not cooperate. The kids hung out downstairs in the living area where the bunk rooms were, and the adults had their own living area upstairs. This set up worked well for us so the kids could do their own activities separate from the adults. Would definitely stay again, hopefully with snow!
The property was as advertised. It was private with plenty of parking and a well equipped kitchen. We had an 80th birthday get together for my father and his siblings and really enjoyed our stay.
We only had a couple of nights for a quick getaway. However, the house was surrounded by beautiful pines, highlighted with snow. It is cozy, and just the place for a retreat. We were able to walk to the ski resort, so we didn’t need to drive anywhere. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped. We had an enjoyable stay.
Erik and Maggie’s property was perfect for our group. We loved the seclusion and outdoor environment. We were not able to ski due to icy conditions but were able to take advantage of board games and movies left in the home. Erik was very flexible with us and extremely responsive. We hope to return soon!
The property was exactly as listed. The owners were very responsive-very quick and accommodating.
Literally a few minute walk to the slopes.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Thank you for everything.
