Fun and games

Pros: Well stocked kitchen. Great location in quiet neighborhood with pretty views. Lots of square footage for sleeping for multiple families and lots of entertaining things in the home. Cons: This property is not spic and span, and not updated. One of the king mattresses is so old... every movement by the other person sets it rocking. Spongy ares of floor made several of us nervous as did the deck which needs repair. If we were there in summer we would not have used the deck: since we were there when it was cold it was not really used. The hot tub did not heat and we were not informed it was not working. The living/dining area is small for the number of people the home can accommodate but is saved by the deck and game area upstairs. Not enough toilet paper or paper towels. Enough coffee filters for one pot per day so we had to buy some. No kleenex. Bottom rack of dishwasher is missing a wheel. In summary this home is priced like a luxury home and it is not.

Perfect for multiple families

This house was perfect for our group of 6 adults and 7 pre-teen/teenagers. Communication and the check in process were extremely easy, the house was in a wonderful location with an amazing view from the decks and there was plenty of room to spread out. We had brought a lot to do but the house had plenty of its own entertainment from ping pong, pool table, poker and video games. The only thing not working was the jacuzzi but we were notified of this ahead of time. We would all enjoying staying there again.

Do Not Stay here!!!

My husband and I have rented many times from VRBO and have NEVER experienced what we experienced with this rental. First of all we were told 2 days before arrival that the jacuzzi was not working. When we arrived it was very obvious that the jacuzzi had not been working for a very long time. The water was green yellow with debris in it and it was boarded up on the sides. It looked nothing like the pictures that were on the VRBO website. There were cob webs in the loft area and in the kitchen. There was thick ice on the decks and driveway. There was no soap, shampoo, or enough towels for our party of 11 people. There was only 3 rolls of toilet paper in the whole house for 11 people for 3 nights. The bunk beds in lower level of the house were so bad. The springs came thru making it unbearable to sleep on. When we arrived there was a broken water pipe outside by the jacuzzi. When the plumber came we had to have the water shut off for a few hours. We understand things happen but with everything else going on it was a lot. We paid a lot of money, over $5,000 for this property to be with our family and we were sorely disappointed!!! The pictures are very deceiving on VRBO. The kitchen, dining room, and living room was very small, uncomfortable for 11 people to all be together. The pictures on the website make that area look huge!!! I am sorry to be writing such a bad review but I really dont want anyone else to go thru what we did.

Don’t Expect Even The Bare Minimum

When we first found this listing we thought it was perfect. It had all the space and amenities we needed for our family trip. Upon arrival we realized that that was not the case. As soon as we walked in and started to coloring the property we found dog feces in the upstairs loft area. I immediately sent a message to management to make them aware of the situation, and was not met with the sincerity or apologetic reply I expected (or deserved). They just told me to take a picture and email it, kinda weird but we had a long ride up and just wanted to relax. We cleaned it up and went about our day. Throughout the day we noticed minor things that weren’t too apparent, but added up. The freezer door not closing, only one roll of toilet paper in each room, blinds not being able and to function. These items would’ve been easy to look over if the hot tub would at least work. The hot tub was the main reason we booked this property. Whenever my family and I take trips we make it a point to only book properties with hot tubs. Once we realized the hot tub was not working I called management to inform them, since messaging them about the dog feces turned out to be a waste. The lady on the phone was also not apologetic in any way. She said that someone would come by the end of day. I tried to ask for an ETA since the hot tub takes 8 hours to warm and we wouldn’t be able to use it if it wasn’t soon. She stated it was a third party and there was no way for her to expedite it. Fine I get it, some things are out of your control. But at this point I had already had another issue and figured they would at least try to recover my stay. A few hours went by and no one showed up, I called again to check and again was told they would be coming by but didn’t have a time. We’ll, no one ever came to fix it. We were left with a freezer hot tub in a house that hadn’t been properly cleaned. I’m not one to leave reviews, but proceed with caution. I’ve reached out to try to get these issues resolved and have not heard back yet, that’s the only reason I’m leaving a review. At this point I feel like I need to be reimbursed for the whole stay because even the bare minimum of a clean house and working amenities weren’t present.

Peacefully relaxing!

First time vacation renter. Worth every penny. All of us loved the games, extra refrigerator and kitchen. That 6 burner stove awesome! Every morning we watched the crested jays flitting around. Everything including just minutes away.

Decent

Overall we had a decent stay. There are plenty of rooms for the adults and a good bunk room for the kids to stay in. Here are the cons... 2 of the 4 adult rooms beds were horribly hard and uncomfortable. One of the main floor bedroom window was broken and could not open to let fresh air in to cool down the room. Thankfully each room has a box fan to help cool down the house. There were no bath towels in the top floor bathroom and our guests had to use their personal beach towel they brought for the spa. Speaking of the spa, we turned up the temperature upon arrival and by the next morning the spa was still cold. We contacted the property management and they sent someone out to fix it, which they did, and we were happy about that. There were dirty cooking utensils in the drawer which wasn't that big of a deal to us because we always rewash every utensil before using them in rentals. There was not enough outdoor seating for the amount of guests the house allows for. (We were a party of 13) Only 2 of the 6 outdoor chairs were useable and not broken. Luckily we brought some of our own camping chairs and we brought the dining room table chairs outside to sit in and enjoy each others company. We could not figure out how to connect the tv's to any of the online streaming services for the kids to watch a movie at night time. The cabin could use some upgrades like new blinds, which fell every time you tried to roll them up or down. You can tell this cabin has all of the basic amenities and is a pure rental where there is no extra care on the maintenance of it. Here are the pros... There were plenty of activities for the kids to indulge in to keep themselves occupied. They absolutely loved the air hockey table, pool table, and the pacman game. The bbq was large enough for us to grill carne and pollo asada for all 13 of us. The location of the cabin was 10 minutes from Big Bear Blvd and the view from the top deck was amazing. This house was sufficient enough for our group who only utilized the house for dinner and hanging out after a long day on the offroad Jeep trails. We would give the house a 3 out of 5 starts solely on the amenities for the kids. If this was an adult trip, we would book somewhere else.

Challenge with property management

The place is big and can comfortably accommodate a large party. It has a nice size game room that can easily accommodate six kids. It also has a nice pool table, video game machine and blackjack table. Our challenge was with the property management company. They charged us a resort fee that is not recognized by VRBO (over $500) and they have not refunded the amount yet. It has been two weeks thus far. The property during our stay didn't have a working spa either and we found that out two days before our visit. The management company mentioned the spa would be fixed before our stay but it never happened. We are waiting to see if they rectify the situation. Lastly, we stayed at the place during a peak period so the cost to stay per night was over 2k per night. They should have included soap, shampoo, and more than one cube per day of soap to use the dishwasher. I have my fingers crossed they will do the right thing but I'm a business owner and I would never have someone wait this long to rectify a straightforward situation.
