Perfection!
The setting is beautiful and peaceful. The home is warm and cozy. It was definitely a home away from home. A perfect location. relaxing and rural yet convenient and not far from town. We would definitely recommend it. We stayed for our daughters wedding, it was a perfect place to get ready and the photos were amazing.

We loved staying in this country home on a horse farm. Susan and Jim are wonderful hosts. They were kind enough to let us weary travelers check in early. Jim invited our granddaughter to help him feed the horses and walk one to a stable. She loved the experience!

A Great Fall Getaway
We were in town visiting family for a few days and had a wonderful stay at the farm. The beauty of the property is breathtaking and you'd be hard pressed to find a more spectacular view from the spacious front porch. Sue and her husband have thought of everything here to make the stay comfortable and complete. Highly recommended!

Peace and solitude
Perfect place to rest, relax, read, whatever you want to do there. Central to many historic areas; 45 minutes to Gettysburg, 60-90 minutes to DC, 50-60 to Antietam, central to many others. Owners are awesome and very helpful. Place has about everything you need. Lots of wineries, breweries, restaurants, groceries within 20 to 30 minutes.

House in time warp
The house was nice size for our family gathering, 4 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms. However, we did not know one of the bathrooms is a shared bath between 2 bedrooms. And that another bathroom is in the , I presume “primary “ bedroom but the bed is only a full. A little crowded for 2 adults when a queen would have been more appropriate for a primary. The living room & TV room were filled with broken down old furniture from the 60’s/70’s- hence the time warp. All was uncomfortable and difficult to get in & out of. The beds were uncomfortable also. It was nice to have a big dining room, a laundry ( but no detergent provided), a nice porch and back deck. But a useable grill would have been nice. Also would have been convenient to have 1 roll of paper towels since we started our week stay with a third of a roll and ran out quickly especially with kids. The house was clean and the only odor was from the smoking area in the garage. But definitely a trip back in time. 70’s Show!

A Peaceful Haven Above All Else
Our stay at “Above all Else at Windsong” was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the immaculate house and well-maintained surroundings that immediately made us feel at home. The tranquility of the location provided a much-needed peaceful retreat. Sue Doll, the owner, was incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding a personal touch to our stay that was greatly appreciated. Her quick responses to our inquiries ensured that we had everything we needed, making our experience smooth and enjoyable. It’s rare to find a place that truly feels like a home away from home, and “Above all Else at Windsong” achieves this with ease. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in a beautiful setting.

Excellent Stay
We had a great stay at Above All Else Windsong. Sue was fantastic! She put up a Christmas tree for us and made sure the house was spotless. She was very communicative before we arrived and even flew the Texas flag for us. We really appreciated Sue's hard work and attention to detail. We would absolutely stay here again.

Small slice of heaven
This tucked away abode was incredibly hospitable. Situated in the remote countryside, you never have to worry about traffic. Private gated entrance made sure we weren’t disturbing the owners when we went about our business. Our kids adored the horses and the ability to help out with farm chores. They’ve already begged me to take them back. Our dogs even enjoyed their time there which was a last minute addition to our trip. Early morning tea or coffee on the porch is a must as you watch the horses.

Amazing House, and great hosts
We visited the Mt Airy area for my wifes birthday. She loves horses, and it was a no brainer for me to book our stay with Sue and Jim at Windsong Arabians. Checkin was smooth, and Sue and Jim were great. The house was perfect. Clean and spacious. We had a great time on the property hanging out with the horses. At night the property was peacceful, and allowed for a very relaxing time. We look forward to booking another trip to Mt Airy, and our only choice to stay will be with Sue and Jim. Thank you very much

Thanksgiving weekend
The house is just lovely, country setting and furnishings. Rooms were comfortable and furnished perfectly for the setting. The home was immaculate, and had all the necessities you would need - including individual shampoo and conditioner for those who (me) forgot to bring their own. The kitchen is stocked with whatever you would need to prepare and serve a meal. A true delight!

A little slice of heaven
Beautiful property nestled in the rolling hills of Maryland. Very peaceful and serene. Far from the noise and traffic but close enough to shopping and restaurants. Bedrooms and baths set up well. Scenery is awesome. Feeding the horses carrots was fun. Just hanging out on the front porch is nice and relaxing. Host welcomed us then left us to ourselves. We didn’t need anything that wasn’t already provided. Just an overall wonderful stay.

Feizet/Carmel family vacation
Our family of 9 thoroughly enjoyed our week at " the farm". Our 3 grandsons could not get enough of the barn and beautiful horses. We were able to relax and just be together. The house was spotless and very well appointed. Jim and Sue could not have been nicer. Our oldest grandson had his first riding lesson with Sue! We hope to come back soon! Connie Feizet

This is a beautiful peaceful property. We loved sitting on the porch watching the horses and looking for bluebirds. The house is very well equipped and spotless. We also enjoyed walking the trails of the adjacent Audibom sanctuary. It was a perfect place for our family to stay to attend a nearby wedding.

Very well kept home
My husband and I were having some work done on our home and had to be out of our house last minute, we found this home on Vrbo and the owner were very accommodating and easy to work with on such short notice. The house was very well maintained and so clean. The only reason I gave the check in process 4 out or 5 was the drive down the lane to check in was a long dirt road and so muddy (it was raining on check in day), it would have been better to check in at the rental house, which was at a different address. Overall I would recommend these owners and the house to anyone.

Great Holiday
This rental on a working horse farm in a private setting was an ideal location for our family to gather over the winter holidays. It was secluded enough to allow for privacy, quiet reflection, and the enjoyment of nature --- while convenient enough to access good roads and nearby towns for dining or shopping. The accommodations were generous for our family to stay, and even host larger gatherings at lunchtime - for others to celebrate the holiday together. Our hosts were gracious, accommodating, and helpful at every step.

Our Visit
Overall the place was wonderful. The kids loved the daily visits with the horses and the multiple bathrooms made it easy for a family of ten. Great kitchen supplies. Pots and pans were in great shape. My only complaint is the mattress on the “futon”. It’s terrible and needs to be replaced. Like a box spring.

This house was originally designed for Jim's parents... bedroom and bathroom downstairs and 3 bedrooms upstairs for family overnights. Our youngest daughter then lived in the house for 2 years, married and bought a home of their own. We have been renting this house for vacation stays since 2002. We have had guests from just about every state in the Union and from many countries. We enjoy meeting new folks and sharing the house and the farm.
