Up North Lakefront Cottage - Newly Remodeled - Big Platte Lake Getaway

Beautifully remodeled lakefront cottage with 100 feet of private frontage on Big Platte Lake located in Benzie County. The cottage sleeps 4, with two bedrooms (king in upstairs master bedroom, queen in main floor guest bedroom) and two full bathrooms. The master bedroom has breathtaking views of Big Platte Lake with an on-suite bathroom (walk in shower) and large walk in closet. The guest bathroom includes a large bubble jet tub for a relaxing evening soak. The cottage has a large 75'' smart TV in the lakefront room, as well as a smart TV in the living room and in each bedroom. Many amenities available, including: A gas fireplace, outdoor firepit, kayaks & paddle boat, air conditioning, Keurig coffee maker, gas grill, WiFi, washer & dryer, board games, fishing poles, yard games and children beach toys. There is even an automatic whole house generator if the power goes out!

Whether you are looking to relax and spend your days at the sandy beachfront, evenings in front of the fire, fish off the dock, ski, snowshoe, ice fish or explore the many beauties of Northern Michigan; our home is centrally located to all things Northern Michigan. Nearby attractions include: Sleepy Bear Dunes, Lake Michigan, Point Betsie Lighthouse, Crystal Lake, Crystal Mountain Resort, Cherry Bowl Drive Inn Theater, Arcadia Bluffs Golf Course and endless restaurants, wineries, distilleries and breweries.

Many towns are also close by that are well worth exploring, including: Frankfort, Beulah, Traverse City, Glen Arbor, Empire, Suttons Bay, Leland and Northport.

Our home away from home is not a destination for large gatherings or parties, but rather suited for a couple, single family or close friends looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway in Northern Michigan.

Fantastic Property

We had a fantastic time at this cottage - it was everything it looks online. The inside was very clean and well appointed with plenty of cooking supplies, glassware, and everything else you’d need for a long weekend. We especially enjoyed the huge backyard and lake views - it’s a very peaceful spot to sit around a fire and make some s’mores - everything we needed to do just that was made available which was a very nice treat. Check in was super easy and communications were great throughout the booking and our stay. I would highly recommend this spot.

Amazing property!

This place is beautiful! The backyard has so much space, the yard games are perfect, the lake has a little beach so it was perfect for our toddler to play on, and the fire pit was a perfect place to relax at the end of the day. The house has everything you will need, it’s clean comfy and so nice to relax in. This house made us fall in love with Michigan, we will absolutely be back!

Quintessential Michigan Lake Vacation

Our stay was absolute perfection complete with every detail including fishing poles, frisbees, kayaks, a paddle boat, fire pit and even a brand new set of marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers for s’mores. Our host surprised us with flowers, amazing local wine and apple pie. We could not have asked for better access to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and the surrounding towns. A truly wonderful place to relax and sit outside on the deck while enjoying access to the private beach. Truly relaxing!

Wonderful summer week with our 2 young children

Lovely lake house with great large lawn leading up to small sandy beach area. Everything available was so well thought out and useful indoors and out. Property manager was responsive and very helpful. Would definitely stay again!

Platte Lake getaway

Beautiful place, very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We really enjoyed spending time in the yard by the lake and in the lake using the kayaks and paddle boat. Would love to stay here again!

UP North Vacation

The cottage is very nice and has everything you need. The host was very easy to communicate with and had good check in and check out instructions. We enjoyed the lake and kayaks, camp fire with s’mores and just being able to relax and sit on the deck. The location is great it’s very close to Crystal Lake and Frankfort and Empire and Glen Arbor and of course Sleeping Bear Dunes.

Lovely lakeside stay!

Highly recommend this property! The owner was very responsive. The house is beautiful as was the lake. We really enjoyed the two kayaks. The house had all the accommodations you ever need— great kitchen set-up, stocked supply closet, comfortable beds, just awesome set-up. Great for families because of sand beach and gradual entry! Thank you, Rodney for the stay!

Awesome Lake Property

Have stayed at this house with family twice and had a great time on both visits. The house is right on the lake with a huge deck and backyard for hanging out, yard games, evening fires etc. Close to Frankfort, Beulah, Sleeping Bear Dunes. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The owners are very responsive to any questions and easy to deal with. Check-in and out was a breeze. Highly recommended.

We loved Honor!

We loved this house and our time on Platte Lake! It was spotless and stocked with little things like S’mores for my girls. They also really enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat that were on-site. Highly recommend and we can’t wait to return!

Beautiful house with a lovely view.

We really enjoyed the kayaks, outside games, fire pit, and cleanliness of the house. The proximity to several small towns, the dunes, and other lakes was also nice. Would definitely rent it again!

Newly renovated & Well stocked cottage

The cottage is in great condition. The kitchen and bathrooms were newly renovated. Its decorated nicely, beds were comfy. The home was nicely stocked, loved the pots and pans, found everything we needed to start a fire in the backyard. The S'more gift basket was a big hit with the kids. There were some ants in the house, the owners were very responsive - they sent a company to spray for bugs. The lake entry is shallow for at least a hundred feet, so we had to swim our boat out before we could get deep enough to start it safely. I would recommend a pontoon boat vs an inboard boat for this lake. Once you get out on the lake, it was beautiful, there were only a few other boats, nice and peaceful. Sleeping bear dunes and Lake Michigan were 10 minutes from cabin, we all loved visiting there.

Absolutely Perfect Lakeside Cottage

This rental was absolutely perfect! A lakefront property on a quiet, peaceful lake, the outdoor amenities extended the living quarters all the way to the lake. Private beach with access to fire pit and lounge chairs - kayaks an added bonus! The cottage itself is immaculate and every detail thought of before you knew you needed it. And we mean everything! Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare a meal. Coffee, snacks, and other generous treats appreciated. Towels, linens, games, Bluetooth speaker, gas grill, board games, bug spray, chairs, life vests, washer/dryer with laundry supplies, dry wood with kindling… everything you would need for a comfortable week. Beautiful views, cable and smart TVs, comfortable furniture in every room. Old Indian Trail and Sleeping Bear a dunes very nearby… also spent some evenings in quaint Glen Arbor. Would come back again in a heartbeat! The perfect retreat for a relaxing getaway!

Beautiful Big Platte Lake Get A Way

We had a wonderful stay at this magnificent cottage on Big Platte Lake. The property provides beautiful views and gorgeous sunrises. The property offers plenty of activities and relaxation at the same time. Location is perfect, tucked away on a quiet wooded street and conveniently located to activities. The property has a true up north lake house feel with special details in every room. The light sensor candles that magically fill the room with soft light at sunset, the splashes of seaglass colors in each room, the gourmet kitchen. The cherry pie and a full bucket of s’more fix-ins were a sweet welcome surprise. Rodney was a great ensuring we had everything we needed for a memorable stay. Rodney happily accommodated a early check. In addition, he is taking care of our daughter’s sentimental black bear she accidentally left up stairs until we return in August. I highly recommend you consider this wonderful property for your up north adventure. I would book early as this cottage will easily draw repeat guests year over year!

Cozy Getaway

This is a beautiful home and location! It is expertly decorated to create a relaxing atmosphere. Everything is comfortable, new, and clean! The view of the water is fabulous and can be seen from the master bedroom, family room, and kitchen! The gas fireplace and outdoor wood burning fire pit added fun to our stay. The kitchen had everything you might need for cooking and dining in. Even the cushy rugs in the kitchen with floorboard heating to keep your toes warm made cooking on vacation more fun!

The property was just as wonderful as pictured. Lots of nice extras like hot chocolate mix and microwave popcorn that were unexpected but appreciated. Weather cooperated and gave us a couple snowfalls worthy of postcards. Definitely a great place to stay.

Great luxury, all new, four season Up North getaway

Beautiful new listing. Even better than the description (feels new not renovated!) and much more spacious than pictures show. Perfect for couples getaway or small family (only 2 beds). Master is actually entire 2nd floor , very large, with amazing view, huge closet/dressing area and big bathroom. Handy new, luxury double stack washer dryer in the spare bedroom with great closet space. So rare to find a cottage/cabin rental with two sitting/entertaining spaces. We enjoyed the gas fireplace, 2 story open living room for our meals and board games and the family room off the kitchen to enjoy the view and the huge tv for a movie night. We cooked two nights and found the kitchen well equipped including even Keurig coffee pods, microwave popcorn, disposable paper products, wraps and food storage containers, all often missing in rentals. High end fridge with filtered water and ice was a nice perk. We were there with snow and enjoyed playing in the large private, deep back yard off the deck. There was a fire pit ready for us by the water's edge with lots of fresh firewood that we didn't get a chance to use. Water is walk out level with what looked like a great sand beach - we will have to come back in the summer to enjoy. This is private and secluded in the woods but with neighbors so you don't feel off the grid scary remote. About 25 minutes from Crystal Mtn skiing and 10 minutes into Frankfort - two of our favorite places. Great Sleeping Bear trail hike about 5 minutes down the road - Old Indian Trail - definitely recommend it! It was great in the snow, can only imagine the summer or Fall.
