(PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE INQUIRING OR BOOKING). Our family-friendly North Straits Chalet offers northern Michigan charm with modern amenities. It is centrally located just 6 miles south of Cheboygan, and close to everything! Do you want to go swimming or kayaking? Enjoy any one of our beautiful beaches. Like to hike or bike? The North Central State Trail runs in front of the house. Want to put your boat in? Choose from 14 different launches on 5 lakes and rivers. (the closest is 4 minutes away). Looking for a day trip? Drive 20 minutes North and hop on a ferry to Mackinac Island. It is less than 30 minutes to the premier ski hills. Now accepting bookings for Spring, Summer, and Fall, 2024.

Get away

There are 6 of us all at retirement age. We r from Indiana and the forecast was calling for several days n the mid 90’s. It was a last minute decision. We had a great time. We went to the island, took the carriage ride, to the locks, glass bottom boat, walked on the trails at the state parks, to the water falls, etc. temps were 10-25 degrees cooler than they were having at home. Had a great stay!

Great spot!

Beautiful cabin with lots of room and space to hang out. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need! Lots of places to sleep! Right across the road from the lake with a view in the winter when the trees are bare! This is a great place for a getaway!

Beautiful chalet in a convenient location

The chalet is beautiful, cozy and welcoming. It is well equipped with everything you need. It is in a quiet area but not far off the highway. There is a Walmart and a dollar general just a few minutes away.

Mullet lake fishing trip

Had a great stay. After setting in a fishing boat all day living room chairs were very welcome and comfortable. Kitchen was more modern than my house. Not a major deal but you can hear the traffic going by out front! I would have no problem staying there anytime. “Nice Place” l didn’t really have any issues but when I did message the owner on a couple things l got a quick message back!

Michigan vacation

Very impressed with the property and the house. It is truly one of the best and cleanest home rentals we have stayed in. This gem is 5 stars! Fantastic home and location

What a gem this home is. There's so many special touches -- a variety of entertainment/games, quality appliances in the squeaky clean kitchen, thoughtful guidance throughout and a quick trip to SO many cool places. Family Vacation

The location suited us very well. We visited the U.P. and Mackinaw several times. Plenty of room for everyone. We didn't have to take up floor space for sleeping, everyone had their own bed. Having a dishwasher was GREAT! It was really nice being able to park in a garage. We were able to relax around a nice firepit for evening fires.

North Straits Chalet

Thoroughly impressed and highly recommended! House was very clean, appeared recently remodeled and had modern appliances. There was plenty of space for everyone and the house was well-supplied with everything you'd need for cooking, dishes, laundry, bathing, etc. About 30 minutes from local ski areas, place was much larger and a fraction of the cost of rentals near the resort.

So awesome!

This was our second year visiting the chalet! We absolutely love it! Let me tell ya the pictures do this place no justice! It has everything you need or could want…. Mr Tony pulled out all the stops on making this place a vacation to remember! If your considering renting this property DO IT! Good time in the North Woods!

We enjoyed our stay here! The house had everything we needed (enough toilet paper, paper towel, dishwasher soap and laundry detergent pods to get you started). The home is in a great location, close to everything. The marina where we kept our boat was only 5 minutes from the house. Each room has an air conditioner which in Northern Michigan you may or may not need, we needed it! Overall, a great experience!

Perfect for Families

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at this home. We have four kids, ranging in age from16 to 3 and they enjoyed the outdoor swing and hammock, basketball hoop, and the games and kids books inside, as well as the wide variety of shows/movies available on the TV. Would highly recommend!

We absolutely loved the property and would highly recommend it. We really appreciated the extras they had for the kids like the books, balls, games, etc. We have never stayed at a property that had all of these for kids. The layout was great and worked perfectly for us. The cleanliness of the house was amazing! You don't find that in every property that you stay in. The whole booking process was easy and it was great to meet the owners just on a whim.
