The property has original flooring that allows sound to travel to the owners unit. For this reason, our home unfortunately is not suited for little ones who enjoy running and jumping.
Our sophisticated home will comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests and all necessities needed for a comfortable, memorable experience are provided.
There is ample free, first come first serve street parking
The property is a traditional shotgun style home but also offers privacy as each bedroom has a door. Keep in mind, to access the third bedroom with 2 twin beds you will need to walk through the second bedroom (king bed). The main bedroom (queen bed) is completely private with an en-suite. There are also multiple entry/exit options for the home.
The second bathroom is located off the common area, in the hallway
The property is a duplex which means the main wall is shared with the home next-door (like a townhome). The homeowners live next-door and you will often find them tending to the garden or maintaining the property grounds. They are happy to give you privacy or engage in conversation, whichever you prefer!
The pool is nothing short of marvelous for cooling down from the NOLA heat or taking a romantic sunset dip. The pool is not heated for winter months but you are still welcome to take a cold plunge!
Our secured property grounds offer lovely green space to explore and enjoy.
Friendly neighborhood cats may come to you for a gentle pet!
The Franklin Restaurant, Pepps Pub, Flora Gallery & Coffee Shop, The Orange Couch, Marigny Opera House, JAMNOLA, Bywater Brew Pub are all within 1-4 blocks walking distance. Explore hip Frenchmen St which is only 5 blocks away; checkout The Spotted Cat or Maison! The French Market is an easy 15 minute walk (about 9 blocks) or an Uber/Lyft can have you there in less than 5 minutes. Uber/Lyft can also have you to Bourbon in about 8 minutes. The Riverfront Streetcar line is next to the French Market (9 blocks away)
Other Things To Note:
The garden/yard area is a shared space with the homeowners; you may see the property grounds during your stay but they will respect your privacy and interact as little or as much as you'd like!
Occasionally the homeowners may need to access the laundry room; they will never go past the laundry room. Guests are able to lock the laundry room door for comfort. It will all make sense when you arrive, we promise!! :)
There is always some sort of maintenance needing to be done to uphold the quality and integrity of the property. We will never hinder your experience of the pool or back deck, but know that there may be days where we are working in the yard more than others with our handyman. Of course if there is a huge project that needs to be done we will schedule this for a time when we do not have guests.
Please no running or jumping in the home as there are many breakables and while the home has been renovated there are still original features such as the floors that allow sound travel with running and jumping.
There is a train 4 blocks away. We understand not all are accustomed to trains in such close vicinity therefore, we provide earplugs for light sleepers.
There are friendly neighborhood cats who enjoy exploring our property from time to time and you may find one or two relaxing on the back deck.
