DC trip
We had a great time in DC. My parents and I along with my boyfriend came to DC for my 25th birthday and my boyfriend proposed to me at the Washington Monument as well!! The apartment was lovely and perfect for us and my parents and the owner got back to us very quickly for any questions had.

Wonderful host for a great family vacation
Paul was a very friendly host. We loved our welcome cookies. They were warm and delicious. The bed was so comfortable. It was a welcome comfort after a long day of touring the city. The kitchen came in handy for late night dinners. Thank you for your hospitality.

Absolutely amazing from beginning to end. Seamless entry, AMAZING host, and lovely property. The property was easy to find, the parking directions were accurate to find. Literally 0 complaints, and I’ll forsure be staying here again!

a comfy stay
Despite some difficulties at check-in, the over stay is very pleasant. I travelled with my teenage daughter. The appt is off the beat-on pass, spacious, clean, and equipped with everything needed. Paul is very friendly and welcoming. The entrance is at the back via an alley, which is little creepy. Even though there is a bus stop at next block, and a Capital Bike station at the very corner, I would still recommend this appt to those travelers with a car. Without a car, it is hard to stock the big refrigerator. So, we end up eating every meal outside. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Thanks Paul.

Two 75 year old cousins stayed here and we took a cab to visit downtown DC and it was easy access. The parking space is a bit tricky and small. Close to a great vegan soul food restaurant called Nu Vegan.

Little home away from home
Cute basement apartment, perfect for my family. I brought along my kids 11, and 14. It was just enough space for us for. There are two comfy memory foam topper beds. Host included extra blankets and extra towels. Keyless entry was perfect so I didn’t have to walk around with a key. The parking in the alley took some skill, but my husband made it work. I didn’t see an iron in the home, and I didn’t notice a thermostat either. It was really warm one night.

Very disappointed
This is the first negative VRBO review I’ve written. The positives: The basement apartment was fully furnished and equipped with towels, dishes/cookware, and a convenient washer/dryer. However, everything was a bit worn, the apartment was muggy, noisy (you can hear everything above), and not as conveniently located as I expected. Additionally, the electrical power kept turning off in one of the bedrooms. Check-in was stressful. We arrived via taxi in the late evening and were only told to come through the back. No side entrance. We were not told that we would need to walk, with our heavy luggage, down a long street, around the block, and up through a rat-infested alley, to get to the apartment. Communication with Paul was strained, at best. Although he did offer passage through the main house for Uber rides, I was very uncomfortable with his overall demeanor and did not accept. As a university professor I am accustomed to interacting with a variety of personalities on a daily basis, however, I was taken aback by the lack of hospitality and professionalism I encountered on this trip.

Property was clean and easy to find.
Great experience. Paul as well as his neighbor was very helpful and nice. Only thing that I had a hard time with was parking. It comes with a parking spot in the rear but it’s a very tight spot. It’s a 1 way street that’s very narrow and hard to pull in and out of your parking spot. But other than that no complaints. I would still recommend and also stay there again.

Close to everything
We had a very nice three days there we park the car and took an Uber back-and-forth to the Smithsonian Museums. Everything was very clean very well supplied. My biggest suggestion would be more hooks in the bathroom of some kind or towels and a clock. Otherwise it was perfect. Thank you TV Guide would be nice

Wow! This place is great. We walked most places but it is close to bus and metro. Plenty of space in the apartment. Paul was amazingly easy to communicate with. I could t recommend it enough!

Large English Basement
Paul was a great host. He was a great communicator, allowed us to check in early, helped with our questions and needs! The listing is a large English basement with plenty of light, good bedding, lots of fresh linen (bath towels, hand towels, blankets, and sheets). If you’re looking for wash rags, I’d suggest bringing your own or bringing loofah. The bathroom had large bottles of shampoo & conditioner. The dedicated parking spot made our lives so much easier since parking is HARD to come by in DC. We had a full sized Chevy Tahoe and was able to fit it into the space like a glove. It was a perfect place for what we needed after a long day of exploring!

Clean and Spacious
We family stayed for a long weekend and the property was a few blocks from our son's apartment. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the unit. The bedrooms are on either end and a large living space separates them. The property was very clean by my wife's standards, which is saying something. Paul was a pleasant host and we chatted a bit the morning we checked out. We would stay there again in the future.

Adorable place, so well kept and very comfy beds. So nice to each have our own bedroom, and even though we ate out, the kitchen was great and you also have a washer/dryer unit right there. Paul was super communicative and made the process easy. Convenient location with great walkability.

This was the Second time staying at this place. Anytime I visit the area I will stay here. It is so close to everything walking and biking distance. Parking available as well as all the "homelike" amenities.
