Nature’s Point

The house was nice. The kitchen was fully stocked but we did find a few roaches in the house. I’ve found that to be typical of houses in Hatteras but still gross none the less.

Absolute perfect home for a family vacation. Sunset views were amazing, sound was stocked with sea mullet and small perch perfect for fishing right off the dock. House was stocked with everything you could ever need. My only suggestion would be to the entire property sprayed for mosquitos as the mosquitos were probably the worst I’ve ever encountered and I come from wetlands myself. All in all amazing place and we will definitely be back!

Nice Home

Natures Point served us (4 adults, 1 toddler, 2 dogs) very well for our week stay. The house was very clean upon our arrival and had plenty of room to spread out. The elevator and hot tub were very nice amenities and the view to Askins creek and the sound were amazing. We would definitely come back again.

Beautiful, quiet location!

The house was comfortable, and SO CLEAN! The housekeepers get a 5-star review for their cleaning! The bathrooms were spotless, and the bedrooms, with beds made, were the same. This was the first time we ever left a "tip" in the housekeepers envelope, with a little note thanking them for an excellent cleaning job. These cleaners are keepers; hold on to them! Askin's Creek, and view from the 3rd floor deck is outstanding and so serene! Nice, quiet little neighborhood. Lots of wildlife and bird sightings. A very relaxing, truly enjoyable home.

Great Location!!!

We've been coming down to OBX for the last 5 years. This was by far the best rental!! The house has lots of fun stuff inside (pool table, games, Smart TV setup - if ya need it 😀) and great stuff for outdoor fun (hot tub, kayaks, big yard!). We picked this house in particular because of the elevator. This made all the floors handicap accessible. The location is phenomenal. The house is pretty close to a gas station and shopping center but tucked away enough to not feel like you're right off HWY12. The house is on the sound side but still very close to the ocean side. Ramp #38 is just across the street from the entrance to the neighborhood. We purchased a ORV permit so we could drive on the beach with our 4WD SUV. This made beach setup and pickup much easier...and also made it easier to access for those with mobility issues like me. We plan to rent this house again.

Nature's Point is ON POINT!

We truly enjoyed our stay at Nature's Point #20-A. The home we originally booked was on the ocean side but was damaged by storms and luckily, Nature's Point was available. We traveled with our 4-legged friend and finding an alternative was limited due to it being late in the season. Some of the benefits include: Short walk to the ocean, fishing off the private pier, amazing sunset views and little to no traffic.

Relax!

We loved staying at Nature's Point! The sunsets were beautiful although there are two houses that will always be in your pictures (you can see the sun set on the water between them). We watched birds, a raccoon, deer, a muskrat, white egrets, great blue heron, green heron..... The walk to the beach is only 1/2 mile, however, that beach access is closed for the 2022 summer for sand dredging. You will LOVE Nature's Point!

Amazing views, even at 100% cloud cover!

We loved this property! The weather was terrible thanks to a nor'easter that slammed the OBX but we enjoyed the property so much in spite of the cloud cover, rain and high winds. We hope to come back under better weather conditions. Love all the wildlife that is around and will bring more food for them next time!

Gorgeous Home… Amazing View…

People who really understand the lower Outer Banks lifestyle will appreciate this gem of a home. Lots of people seek beach front homes as rentals but the real joy of the lower villages is sunsets over the sound. This home had such a vista that the sunsets were absolutely breath taking. The accessibility of this home was a MEGA bonus. This home has a master and full bath on the top level and has a elevator making this a great home to welcome a family member with mobility issues. The hot tub faces the sound’s great sunsets and looking out into the grasses of the canal offered great bird watching and nature observation. The path through the cedars was enchanting. The kitchen was awesomely stocked with great pots, pans, tools and flatware. The spice rack being stocked was a kitchen game changer. All beds were comfortable. The house was very clean and organized. Highly recommend this home for people that enjoy the ORV lifestyle of Hatteras as Ramp 38 is just a hop, skip, and a jump. Our only complaint was that the outdoor water for hosing down was turned off but probably just for winterization. If you own this home and are reading the review, I would love to speak to you about the house and the history of it. Thank you for welcoming us … We had an amazing time and felt well taken care of in your home.

Nature’s Point 20 A

Nature’s Point was a nice house; however the housekeeping did not do a very good job of cleaning the home prior to our arrival. We found trash in the dresser drawers, under furniture and even in the window seal. The floor had not been swept so I had to do that myself before we brought our things in. Also, the hot tub never heated up above 95 and on our next to the last night there it stopped working all together so we paid to have a hot tub and got no use out of it.

Would definitely rent again

PROS: Location was convenient. A short walk to the beach and pretty view of the Sound. Elevator was a god send, when hauling luggage, etc. to the various floors. Unit was very clean. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you could possibly need to cook a meal. Beds were comfortable, with plenty of additional blankets, pillows and linens provided. Hot tub was wonderful. We brought our dog with us and they had a nice gate feature on the 1st floor stairway that would keep him contained in that area. The 1st floor had vinyl flooring, so if we left the house, we'd keep him in that area and if a mistake was made, it was an easy clean up. Great idea. CONS: The gas fireplace was not functional. We were disappointed because we had bad weather for our stay and the fireplace would have been nice. Now small things...Only 1 trash bag was given. No sponge or dish washing cloth. 1 tiny bar of soap was given per bathroom. Larger bars of soap would have been better for showers. One kitchen cabinet door was missing. Must have been broken in the past and never replaced. For looks purposes, I would do something to fix or replace it. Pool table was out of level, so couldn't use it. Stated there was a DVD player and library. There was not. Overall, we were happy with our stay at Nature's Point and would definitely rent again.

Perfect hideout

This house has everything. If the owners ever list it I want to buy this place. The home have all of the amenities you need everything is clean modern and working but it's not Overkill luxurious where it has to be priced unaffordable. Tucked into a very quiet Cove and very quick access to the beaches.

Nice house but not clean

We liked the house and location. Plenty of room and a great view! The issue was the lack of cleaning. The realty company has pushed check in times later because they say it allows for sanitizing/cleaning better due to Covid. Apparently not. Smelled urine when we first arrived in steps area. Floors in bathroom had dried fluid and hairs, mattress covers were stained, drawers in kitchen were full of dried foods, counters had dried food stuck on. Pretty sure none of the "sanitizing" took place. Very bad time to shortcut cleaning. I contacted the realty company and they promised the cleaning fee will be refunded. Sofas seemed dirty to us. We used some sheets and covered them for our stay. Cobwebs all over.. Also one of the kitchen cabinets was missing the door and there were 2 areas in living room that had wires hanging loose. Possibly had removed some surround speakers and never replaced? Will we rent again? Not sure. The house needs a real good cleaning and a new cleaning company.

Wonderful week!

We loved our stay at Nature’s Point! The location on the little canal leading to the sound was beautiful and peaceful. We didn’t really do much in the water right behind the house since it was kind of mucky (of course my kids had to explore it!) but the sunset views were amazing. The screened-in porch on the top deck was great for evening hangouts. The hot tub was a nice plus too! The elevator was a huge help for our older parents, who stayed with us. The bedrooms were comfy and there was plenty of room for all of us (family of 5 and 2 grandparents). The kitchen was really well stocked as far as cookware and dishes, etc, which was a huge plus. The street was nice and quiet, but close enough for us to bike to the Askins Creek market (there were a couple of bikes to use). The pool table/air hockey table was great too! A nice distraction when we needed a break from outdoors. Couldn’t have asked for a better vacation spot!

A different view

The house was very nice with excellent views that were quite different from the normal sound front experience. The home was listed as canal front; however, it was more of an estuary with a lot of trees and vegetation. The pine area at the end of the boardwalk was very serene and beautiful. We greatly appreciated the elevator since we are seniors.

Found our forever beach house!

We absolutely LOVED this cottage. It has convinced us that the sound side is for us. It was quiet and private, tucked back on a creek by the sound. The sunsets were incredible. The house itself could have been a little cleaner, but it was nothing a little vacuuming and wiping didn’t fix. The cottage itself was in fantastic shape, we didn’t have a single issue with anything-all appliances worked well, windows and doors in great shape, nothing broken or even flimsy. The hot tub was perfect also. Some of the deck chairs were a little rickety and an outdoor gate was in need of some screws but other than that, nothing detrimental to our trip. We loved the elevator and wheelchair ramps both for transporting luggage and groceries, and also for our geriatric dog who wasn’t thrilled with so many stairs in previous houses. It was a win win! We are already booked for this cottage for next year and can’t wait for it!

Great time cut short!

Unfortunately, Hurricane Maria forced a mandatory evacuation of the area 2 days into our family vacation. Our time there, though short, was great! The house itself is comfortable, although the outside decks and furniture could use a little TLC. Loved the elevator and the master bedroom/bath on the main level of the house. Great for visitors with mobility issues! What ever few short comings the property may have are well made up for by the sunset views! They were INCREDIBLE! Our family made good use of the rope swings, the fishing dock, and the kayaks! Overall a fantastic property in a great location! Wish we could have stayed the full week!
