Thoreau would have loved it, and so did we. An absolutely classic, barebones cabin in an extraordinary setting on the edge of wilderness, just up the road from Quinn's hot springs. Very clean and organized. We played the dice game provided into the night, and had misgivings about the rope bed because we're both 68, but with our camping pads it was very comfortable!
As good as it gets, if you’re looking for a simple, quiet, and serene stay. A favorite local Montana gem and we can’t wait to return. Thanks so much, Josh!
My partner and I stayed here for one night and had such a relaxing night! Creek rocked us to sleep and the owner was quick to respond with any questions we had! We will absolutely try to come back in the future!
This property is so special. We absolutely love staying here and Josh is awesome to work with! If you're looking to unwind and relax, this is your place. The cabin is very cozy and the sound of the creek is the perfect way to fall asleep. We'll definitely be back! ❤️

Great Stay Despite Miscommunication
Beautiful clean cabin just steps from babbling creek view with an unforgettable view of the stars. Last minute hiccup / miscommunication with owner about which cabin was ours. Once fixed - an incredible experience awaited us exactly as described in vrbo listing. Thank you Josh.
If you're looking for a place to disconnect THIS IS IT!! It's clean and has a beautiful view!! The wood stove kept us warm at night and the sound of the creek next to the cabin was a great to fall asleep too. You will need an SUV, truck or Jeep to get back to the cabin. I don't recommend trying to drive a car back there especially if there's snow or it's really wet. It's an off the grid cabin and that's exactly what it is!! I will and have recommend this place to everyone!
If you like to be off the beaten path and hate staying in boring over-priced hotel rooms, then this is the place! Very nicely set up, neat, clean, private. Awesome views! We fit 2 adults and 4 kids (15, 13, 10, 8) just fine. We brought a couple cots and the owner provided some as well. The owner built an amazing rope bed also which is a great addition! We had an air matress with so we put that on the rope bed- worked great! The owner was easy to communicate with and gave great directions! This was our favorite place we stayed on our entire trip! We hope to go back to the Trapper Cabin again some day!
I wanted a little cabin in the woods as a basecamp for our hunting trip this year. This was the perfect spot, and the woodstove kept us toasty warm even though it was cold and snowy outside. The trip was a success!
I was very impressed with this little cabin! The directions were clear and made it easy to find the cabin. There were solar-powered fairy lights and a lantern in the cabin that made it so cozy once the sun went down. The wood-burning stove was fully equipped with kindling and firewood which made the chilly nights nice and toasty. Overall very impressed and will definitely be visiting again!
We loved our stay in this cute cabin! It has a great deck out front where you can sit and enjoy listening to the stream that runs by the cabin. At night it has cute string lights inside that give it a cozy magical feeling.
I loved this place so much it was hard to leave! The small, but mighty stove kept the cabin toasty warm and perfectly cozy for curling up with a good book. The sound of the creek and the crackling fire was perfect for falling asleep to. I’m already scoping out more weekends for my next stay.
This place was exactly as described and more. There was a propane heater provided as well as a wood burning stove with wood and kindling. The owner left directions on how to use the stove which was helpful. They also had a PowerBank that ran lights inside of the cabin. It's very peaceful and you fall asleep to the sound of the creek. I came with my wife and two young children. The owner provided cots to sleep on and there was plenty of space for us. We went in late April and two of the nights were below freezing but we stayed warm throughout the night. It's definitely a place that I'd like to stay at again.
We rented this cute cabin as a last minute Friday getaway. It is nestled in the woods right alongside a nice creek. It had recently rained and it was flowing fast. Great to listen to that night for sure. The wood burning stove was a nice touch and kept us plenty warm. Definitely enjoyed our stay and inquired about the possibility of staying another night. This particular cabin was not available but another of their cabins was which was just as great! We met the owner and spoke with him for a bit. Really nice man, very personable. We highly recommend these cabins and will be back!

Great time off the beaten path, not a great spot for glamping but perfect for myself.
It was clean & well thought-out. It was pleasant being close to the creek. I did not realize there was an outdoor cooking burner, but due to fire-hazards I just brought sandwiches, etc. anyway. You need to have sleeping bags to put on the cots. There were some nice touches to this neatly restored cabin and I'd like to stay there again.

The cabin had nice outdoor grounds for lunches and enjoyment or the natural settings. It seems that the property owner is working on a cabin down the road from this one. That's a bit of an eye sore. The creek running next to the cabin is great. The views of the night sky are great. It's quite close to resort. I'm supposing that you could drive a few miles and enjoy drinks or dinner at the resort, however, I don't truly know. I didn't try. Anyway, nice place for hikers and campers.
One serious recommendation - if you don't have camping gear, you **probably** don't want to stay at an an off-grid cabin.
