Great Bunk Cabin for a hunting or Fishing Trip

Our group was in the area for a youth duck hunt and this cabin was perfect for our weekend. The owner is great with communication and the check-in and check-out process was very easy.

Bearfoot Cabin

This cabin was clean and well stocked with necessities. This is good since there are no stores nearby. We were there to enjoy nature so this wasn’t a problem for us.

Loved the stars at night

We really enjoyed relaxing here after the class reunion. The quiet night sky with stars was wonderful to see. It was a very well laid out VRBO. We would stay again.

Best vacation ever

We travel with our dogs often and this cabin was the best rental we’ve ever booked. It’s super clean and cozy and has everything we needed for our weeklong stay. We bought groceries in town and cooked all week and the kitchen was very well stocked and even had cast iron pans that we loved. From the back porch we did lots of wildlife watching and enjoyed the peace and quiet of God’s beautiful creation. There were many very interesting books provided including great cookbooks and books about local history that we loved reading during our stay. The cabin is on a very quiet dead end road with no neighbors in sight, we loved that our dogs had plenty of room to safely explore. It’s very close in proximity to a nice little boat ramp and a great fishing pier where we caught red and black drum. We loved exploring the many wildlife refuges in the area, cruising the backroads, and visiting the OBX. We will definitely be back very soon, we are in love with this rental. Thanks for a great stay Karen, you are an excellent host.

Secluded little cabin

We loved our stay at Bearfoot Cabin. Loved the secluded area. Used as a base to view the overwintering waterfowl and for the Geminids Meteor shower. Absolutely dark skies. A nice place to unplug, as cell service is very limited. There is no cable or WIFI, but the cabin is stocked with a large selection of books and DVDs. However it is set up as a 'mans' cabin so the movies where geared more toward them. Deer and turkeys will roam through the property. Overall we would stay again.

Fishing Weekend!

Bearfoot Cabin was a clean and cozy place to stay between fishing adventures and exploring some of the Inner Banks. We enjoyed our stay and will be back! The cabin is clean and well stocked with comfortable beds and is pet friendly. There is plenty of parking with room for a boat or a second vehicle. It is as advertised with no wi-fi and we had no cell service at the cabin, so don't plan to hot-spot your phone and work or stream Netflix. There are DVDs and plenty of books to read! Great escape from technology! The cabin is on the edge of active farm fields and very close to water so if you sit on the porch and the weather is warm you will need to use bug spray (no bugs inside the cabin!). This also means it is a great spot to watch wildlife - we saw turkey, ducks and geese without even trying. Karen was an amazing hostess and left treats, made sure we knew how to contact her and was very responsive when we did reach out. This spot is a great stay if you plan to explore the Inner Banks, fish or hunt. The town of Belhaven is a short 5-minute drive with groceries and restaurants and a local diner is even closer if you head toward Leechville. A private boat launch to the Pungo river is less than a mile away ($5 put in fee), with public boat launches located all around the area.

What a way to start the year!

For the third year in a row we have stayed at this cabin-a perfect location to view the winter wildlife wonders of this part of the country. It's cozy, warm, inviting, well-equipped and perfect for our needs. An added bonus is that we can bring our dogs! Each year we are pleased to see added conveniences and more homey touches. See you next year!
