Weekend stay in May left some to be desired
I recently stayed at this cabin and while there were some aspects I appreciated, there were several issues that would prevent me from rebooking or recommending it to others. I would not recommend this property to families with young kids or individuals with allergies.
Pros:
The beds were comfortable.
The couch was particularly cozy.
There was ample room for our group of four and two dogs, without feeling cramped.
Cons:
Cleanliness was a major concern upon arrival. We discovered old moldy food in one of the rooms and trash on the couch, which was disappointing and unsanitary.
The entire cabin was very dusty, exacerbating allergies.
There was an unpleasant smell that required airing out the cabin for a good hour before it dissipated.
The front screen door was problematic. Its springs were under a lot of tension, causing it to slam shut loudly and forcefully, which is a safety hazard, especially for children, as it has exposed metal that could easily cause injury.
Thermostat control is not available to guests. The owner sets it to either heat or AC, and it cannot be adjusted during your stay. Despite staying in late May, the thermostat was set to heat, making one of the nights uncomfortably hot. We managed with fans and lighter bedding, but the inability to control the temperature was inconvenient.
In summary, while the cabin had its comforts, the cleanliness issues, safety hazards, and lack of temperature control made the stay less enjoyable.
