Loved our stay at this expansive cabin! It is on a quiet lake close to town. We loved the quintessential Northwoods cabin decor. The grandkids loved the beach with the lily pad and paddle boat, and of course, the hot tub! Karen was quick to respond when we had a question.
Just a couple of minor things were missing- salt/pepper and paper towels or napkins in the kitchen. Also, the main floor master bedroom didn't have any place to hang or put clothes. Like I said, minor things and overall we loved our stay here!
Exceptionally beautiful "cabin" and setting. Our 5 grandkids love the lake for tubing and the beach, lily pad, and raft. Great time for the 10 of us. Booked again for next summer.
To celebrate our Mom’s 80th birthday, we wanted to gift her with a special lake house experience. From booking the property all the way through check-out, Karen’s communication was outstanding. The property itself was fantastic; very clean, beautiful, and spacious. The location was perfectly private (couldn’t see a neighbor) while being conveniently close to town. We loved being on Little Jay Gould lake while having access to the larger lakes. And the nightly fire around the fire pit down by the sand and water ended each day on a great peaceful note. Thanks again for everything, Karen!
Great location, magnificent house and property, well furnished. Since we fished and had two boats, it was nice that there was a nice dock and private boat launch ramp on the property. Only negative was the lower (basement) level was very chilly and we were never able to make it warmer.
The house suited our large family very well. Fishing on the lakes was pretty good and it was nice to have a boat landing nearby. It was tricky getting turned around with boat trailers and parking them without blocking people in but we figured it out. Communication with the host was excellent. The only negative that's not their fault would be their neighbor that kept dragging a tree across the road to block us in, which we found very odd.
Pictures don't do it justice. Amazing log home. Loons provide concerts at night. Small calm bay opens in large Lake Pokegama, but seldom busy. Great stay for our extended family of 10.
This was the perfect home for our family of 5 adult children. The spacious common areas-living room; kitchen/dining; family room; deck; beach; docks-were perfect for story telling, games, and laughter during our stay! We will be back to this ideal getaway!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This house has everything you need, very clean and beautiful to be inside, on the back deck or on the beach. Kids and adults alike loved our time here!
Beautiful and spacious log home! We loved the beach area with Adirondack chairs and sunset view. The location is perfect with lots of privacy. The owners are responsive and great to work with. We would recommend this property!
What a wonderful time we had! House was clean and well cared for. Sandy beach was great....not only for my grandchildren...but my kids as well. Loved having the privacy of no neighbors nearby. Would love to rent again next year! Thank you!
Great place with lots of room. The hosts were kind and responsive. Would definitely come back!

About the host
Hosted by Karen Olson
We are parents and grandparents of a large family and wanted a cabin where we could bring our family together. When you rent our cabin you are renting our family's special place. We hope you love it and also take care of it as we would.
Why they chose this property
We bought this cabin for our family. We wanted a log cabin style home that would be large enough for all our children and grandchildren. It also had to have a sandy beach and be no more than a gentle slope down to the water. This cabin provides all that and more.
