About this property

Huge 2 level home great for families, reunions, and special holiday gatherings. This house has almost 3,000 fq feet to spread out in 9 bedrooms with 3.5 baths. Big kitchen with 3 fridges and laundry room.

There are 2 bedrooms downstairs with queens and 1 more with a twin and trundle. There are 2 full bathrooms downstairs. Then there are 6 bedrooms upstairs all with full beds. There is 1 full bath upstairs with an additional 1/2 bath with a sink and toilet.

There are 2 dining areas, 1 large livingroom and a laundry room and sun room.

This house is a perfect gathering place for family celebrating a graduation or family reunion.

There is a no event or parties listed in the rules. However, I will make an exception if you contact me in advance and let me know the type of event you want to host.

Please respect our neighbors and observe a quiet time from 12:00 midnight till 8:00am.

Great place for 12 of us to stay. Only issue we had was the shower pressure was a slow stream. Was not ideal for all of the men to wait.

Graduation Celebration

Our grandson graduated from West Texas A&M. We had a large family group and the house was big enough and comfortable enough for everyone. We had a lovely stay. The hosts were very accommodating and responsive. We had no issues at all. Thank you!

Family wedding

The property was a great size four group of family and friends. We were in town for a wedding and we were able to have our own space but still gather for meals and games duringnour downtime. The number of beds and bathrooms with showers was a big plus for our group as we all got ready for the event. The host was attentive and the place is very clean. The town of Canyon has options to shop, golf and variety of places to eat. It worked great for us.

Plenty of beds for everyone without having to use a bunk bed.

Stay was great. Soft pillows, clean blankets, portable fan in every room for those that sleep with white noise. Close walk to good food. Not too far from either canyon. Easy access for parking. Will stay again!

Comfortable space for making memories

We came to Canyon to explore Palo Duro Canyon and we were very comfortable during our stay. We ended up spending more time in the house than we planned because of cold, rainy weather. The kids enjoyed having their own space and had loads of fun playing hide and seek throughout the house. The house is very well stocked with anything you need. It feels like the owners truly want you to enjoy yourself while you stay! We found the same to be true of all the businesses in Canyon - everyone is really friendly and helpful! We had a great stay!

Plenty of bedrooms

This place has so many rooms it was perfect for staying at will all of our family. There are an abundance of fridges too which is needed with so many people staying in one place. The beds are comfy and the rooms are surprisingly quiet! We couldn’t even tell other we’re awake and cracking jokes in the morning. My only complaint is that the kitchen table could use another leaf in it and a few more chairs, but there’s a breakfast nook where the kids ate which was perfect. We would stay here again.

Family time

We enjoyed Canyon , the State Park, the recommended shops, but mostly the big roomy house. We cooked together, and played lots of cards. A wonderful trip. The host even got us a grill! That’s way above what anyone could ask for.

King Family Duck Hunting Trip to Amarillo, TX

The house was exactly as advertised. Everything was very clean and organized. The entire house was very roomy, bedrooms large with very comfortable beds and linen, bathrooms with plenty large bath towels, the kitchen was totally furnished with everything needed for any type of cooking desired, even plenty of spices and condiments were available. There were two picnic tables in the back yard and plenty of room that made our duck cleaning easy. There was also a trash dumpster in the alleyway for disposing of our trash and duck carcasses. Both upstairs and downstairs has separate thermostats, and the room temperatures were easily controlled and comfortable. I could go on and on but to sum things up.... This place makes you feel like you are at home!!! In closing, I want to thank Mr. Melcher for his hospitality, he was a pleasure to deal with.

Great for families

It was so nice to be able to spread out and each child to have their own bedroom. Very conveniently located too. Pretty well stocked kitchen. The stairs to the upstairs bedrooms were very steep - too steep for my older mother in law to climb or for my teenager with a hurt knee. But 3 bedrooms on first floor accommodated them.

Terrific Place

This home is incredible. The nine bedrooms are perfect for intimate family reunions, friendly get aways and fun times. Its history is fascinating and the location is close to "the main drag", the town square and WT. The back yard is large and a great area for children as well as adults to play and hang out.
