Great spot for a relaxing week

Really nice spot. Not much reason to leave if you want to just decompress. The kids loved swimming in the lake. Kids can dip their fishing poles in off the dock and catch a fish in minutes. Great views and plenty of space. The bunk beds are a bit cramped but we made due. Overall I’d recommend this spot for a family with kids who love to swim. Bring your own floats.

Great place on the water

I agree with others that the photos don’t give you a complete feel for the place. More spacious than I expected and the backyard is beautiful. Scott was a pleasure with which to deal

Cozy cottage

This is a very nice cottage on the lake. Clean, comfortable and gives a warm and inviting feeling as soon as you enter. Very peaceful and relaxing. No detail was overlooked. Had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and the neighbor. We would highly recommend a stay here. Thank you Scott and Michelle!

A Grape Lake Escape!

We visited the Finger Lakes for the first time in 2023 and fell in love with the area. Hence, we decided to return this year. This listing attracted our attention due to the great reviews and location. We were delighted that Hall's Grape Escape matched the description and exceeded our expectations. Clean, comfortable, and cozy, this cottage is wonderful. Communication with our host Scott was excellent. We do have some constructive comments, as follows. (1) The stairs to the entrance are very steep. This location is not well-suited to people with disabilities/ mobility issues. The same goes for the stairs to the bedroom on the second floor. Just something to keep in mind! (2) The shower entrance could be prohibitively narrow for larger people, who would have difficulty squeezing in. That being said, the shower was spotlessly clean and the water was nice and hot. Comments aside, Hall's Grape Escape was a memorable, fabulous getaway for us. Even though it rained almost every day, we found beauty in the lake, the quiet roads, the vineyards, and the history of this unique part of New York State. Nearby Penn Yan is delightful with great eateries, delicious coffee (Amity Coffee Co.), and a lovely small-town vibe. It is also home to the very old and famous Burkitt Mills (from 1797), a mighty sight to behold! Once again - thank you, Scott and Michelle - for letting us enjoy your wonderful cottage! We will treasure our memories! Karl and Rita from the DC area

Super cute, well kept family cottage

We had a great week at this super cute cottage! It's in a very good location with close proximity to Penn Yan and all town amenities. The owners live next door and are very friendly, helpful people. Overall, this cottage is very comfortable and well maintained inside and out. The outdoor areas are sharp looking. We loved sitting out on the lawn, deck or dock in the comfortable adirondack chairs, enjoying the view. Lawn umbrellas and picnic table were very much appreciated. You can swim off the dock or use the walk-in beach area. We enjoyed lounging in floats (bring your own) in the warm water, or paddling up the coast in kayaks we rented from Reagan's (they deliver directly to your cottage). Fire pit in the evening was nice. The yard, stairway and dock walkways are well lit for evening use. We didn't use the gas grill, but it appeared to be in excellent condition and a good size for bbq. Inside, the main living area is very comfortable with excellent views and nice touches such as the wooden flooring, window coverings and a thoughtful décor that clearly has meaning for the family. Furniture is comfy, especially the sofa, futon and upholstered swivel chairs. There is streaming service on the TV, books, music and puzzles. Plenty of lamps for a cozy feel and lots of windows to bring in natural light. The kitchen is basic but well functioning and has pretty much anything you may need. We really appreciated having use of the washer and dryer. Beds are comfortable. The bathroom was nice -- they've really made the most of a small space and it doesn't feel small at all. The shower is very nice with great built in shelves and clever fold out doors, nice showerhead and hot water supply. Everything was spotlessly clean. We only used the A/C once or twice all week. The windows offer nice breezes and the roof fan helps to clear out hot air. Overall, a clean, cozy, relaxing environment. And we barely heard any road noise at all. We enjoyed taking long daily walks on E Bluff Drive heading south of the cottage. Not much traffic, especially on weekdays. You can also walk (or drive) up nearby Culver Hill Road to top of the hill toward Skyline Drive for a beautiful view of both branches of the lake and lovely farmland/vineyards. Additionally, the farmer across the street sells firewood and has a little self-service (free) Reel Mower Museum in his garage. Overall, a wonderful week and we would most certainly like to return!

Exactly as Advertised

Our family just returned from a week at Hall's Grape Escape where we had a wonderful stay! The cottage was clean and well kept, and everything was exactly as it was advertised. The neighbors were extremely friendly and very respectful of our privacy. The outdoor fire pit next to the lake was a perfect way to end a day of boating. The dock was in good condition and perfect for our 18' boat. Our family cannot say enough good things about the cottage and location, and we hope to come back and make some more incredible memories in the future.

Hall’s Grape Escape

My husband and I rented this property for our 25th anniversary. Everything about it was beautiful. Keuka Lake is beautiful and this property captured the essence of the lake. We did a lot of sightseeing in the area and loved coming back “home” to this beautiful place. The owner Scott was great. He was there if we needed anything but did not impose on us, even though he lives right next door.

Lovely cottage on beautiful lakefront property!

We enjoyed this beautifully maintained, very clean and comfortable cottage with amazing lake views and many outdoor accommodations such as kayak launch, dock, picnic area and swimming ladder! A perfect location for a peaceful and relaxing lake vacation! And it is only a ten minute drive to the Penn Yan village for shopping and restaurants! The owners are very welcoming, friendly and thoughtful and ensure the comforts of home are provided in the cottage!

Wonderful

This was a wonderful ,small cabin. It rained during our stay but Penn Yam was full of interesting shops and restaurants. My husband caught a fish during a break in the rain, easy access into the lake with our kayaks. We will be returning soon.

Wonderful cozy cottage in Finger Lakes

My Husband and I just returned a couple weeks ago from our first trip to the Finger Lakes. Hall's Great Escape was the perfect cottage for us. It was quaint, clean and had everything we needed. The cottage was close enough to where we wanted to be. We visited Watkins Glen and many of the Wineries in and around Seneca & Keuka Lakes. We loved how close the cottage is to the water and wished we booked our trip earlier in the summer so that we could enjoy more daylight time outside the cottage. Although, the scenery all around was breathtaking with all the Fall colors! Our only regret was not staying longer. We would definitely love to come back to Hall's Grape Escape!

Everything As Anticipated

We initially picked Halls Grape Escape because it is one of very few that offer both internet and washer/dryer. What we found on arrival was great, had that intangible "this is NICE" factor. All our needs were covered. Clean, well-kept inside and out. Owners provide very comfortable accommodations while maintaining timeless cottage charm. Hall's Grape Escape is in a peaceful Bluff location, also close to Penn Yan grocery stores and Seneca Farms! Municipal water source is a nice plus. Owners are friendly, business-like, and communicate promptly.

Great view, bright and airy

The cottage is exactly how the pictures showed it, bright and airy. Everything was clean and in good condition. The view on the lake was amazing all day and night. We enjoyed the local wineries, some historic buildings in Penn Yann and even a trip up to Niagara Falls. Super relaxing, can't wait to go back!

Quiet retreat!

We just returned from a relaxing 9 day pre-season retreat. The cottage was comfortable and very clean. We enjoyed the sun room almost as much as the dock. It was the perfect spot for morning coffee, meals, wine, and card games. The location is close to town and wineries. One of the perks of going early is how quiet and peaceful it is. There was little traffic on the road and it was nice to be able to take long walks. It was an enjoyable stay!

About the host

My wife and I have 2 boys that were 3 and 5 years old when we purchased in 2003. They have learned to swim, fish, waterski, tube, wakeboard, wakesurf, sail and the importance of family time at the lake. We enjoy the escape from the daily grind and hope to continue to do so for many years. We now own the property next door and have been spending more time at the lake!

Why they chose this property

We looked for 3 years before finding our little slice of heaven. Our cottage is simple, easy to maintain and the perfect location.

What makes this property unique

Off road parking, mooring buoy, mooring whips, propane grill, firepit with supplied firewood, hammock overlooking lake, 40 foot long dock with a patio at the end with 2 adirondack chairs, large outdoor picnic table with sunbrella for breakfast, lunch and dinner, lots of windows and AC for hot days. We have been renting our cottage for years on other sites with great reviews. We will leave it very clean for you and hope you do the same for us!
