Cozy Backyard Cottage With Queen Bed

The Space:
The cottage is in the back yard of a Palo Alto home and is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfy stay: a queen-sized bed, a twin-sized guest bed, a kitchenette, a bathroom, a living area and work space, a private outdoor area, and blazing fast 1G wifi.

Per above, part of the cottage's charm is its quirky layout. The cottage has two separate structures, separated by a ten-step walk outside in the sunny, private courtyard. The main room has a queen-sized bed, a breakfast table, a kitchenette, a closet, and a bathroom. The second room is the living area, and has a comfy chair, a work area, and a twin-sized guest bed. Note that if a guest sleeps in the living area on the twin-sized bed, they will need to walk ten steps outside in the courtyard to get to the kitchen or bathroom.

Many guests work outside on the patio furniture. Yes, even in the winter, our days are usually warm enough to hang out outside!

While you'll rarely need it, both rooms have a wall-mounted AC unit.

Note that we have a small non-allergenic Havanese dog named Ember. She's laid back, quiet, friendly, and may well come to greet you. Note that while she stays out of the cottage, and the cottage is thoroughly cleaned before each stay, if you're allergic to dogs, or simply don't like them, this may not be the place for you.

Guest Access:
Guests will have exclusive access to the cottage and a private, sunny courtyard.

Getting Around:
Because of the driveway's configuration, we unfortunately cannot provide driveway parking. There is, however, unrestricted and ample street parking.

The California Ave Caltrain station is just minutes away, and there are commuter express trains that get you up to San Francisco in under an hour. You also have easy access to local thoroughfares like El Camino Real, Page Mill / Oregon Expressway, Alma / Central Expressway, as well as the main local highways 101 and 280. Note that with our heavy and unpredictable traffic, please allow extra time to get to your destination.

Interaction with Guests:
The owners reside in the main house, and they always take your lead about how to interact. Some guests like joining them for outside drinks and general socializing, while other guests prefer their privacy.
