We stayed here for Valentine's day "weekend" a couple weeks ago. Cabin was spotless and spacious. Everything listed in the description was accurate, so no surprises. We're glad we brought firewood, as that helped warm up the area for the entire night. Quiet and secluded, had everything we could've hoped for in a cabin. We snowboarded at nearby Elk Mountain (20 min drive), and enjoyed a couple places to dine on Main St. in Honesdale, PA. Sleeps 6 people comfortably, and having the second bathroom was key. Nice separation between the bedroom/kitchen area from the living room. It really felt like 2 cabins joined by a large hallway. We've stayed at other cabins in this general area, but this would be the one we wouldn't hesitate to book again. Hosts were very quick to respond with any questions as well.
Liked - Peaceful, beautiful, clean, cozy, roomy.
Disliked - no wifi display password, no cell service, wasn't able to contact anyone with questions about the no smoking policy.
We stayed over Presidents’ Day weekend. Great little place about 15 min from the mountain. The cozy fireplace room is perfect after a day of skiing. Everything you need and nothing you don’t. Would be a nice place in the summer as well. Highly recommend
Very secluded and the trails are wow and very calm and soothing. Place is a very cabin feel with the fireplace and beds. Definitely will come back to get away from the city life.
Beautiful cabin! Clean, well-appointed and cozy! We enjoyed skiing at Elk and dining in some wonderful restaurants in Honesdale. We had an issue with the internet when we arrived and needed some extra blankets since it was a super chilly weekend and the hosts took care of both issues almost immediately. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Very Beautiful Log Cabin home with AC & Heat and a wood burning stove.
House is on a Block On Johnson with only about three other homes in a mile and is nestled within Trees. Though on the side of the garage, you have about a hundred foot clearing between the homes and the forest so there is space to do as you please, such as play basketball. It is secluded and Neighbors are no where to be seen. There is tons of toilet paper, but you should bring laundry detergent and Bounty and cleaning supplies and all such consumables as there is none or little. Enjoy!
The property is absolutely beautiful. The house is comfortable and gorgeous. Unfortunately the heat does not heat up the back room in the kitchen enough. The temperature in the kitchen as well as the back room hovered around 55 to 58 even when the heat was turned up in the front room. There is a wood-burning stove, but there was no wood and nowhere to purchase any or find anywhere on the property. Without the wood-burning stove it’s too cold to sleep. The second night we were moved to the front of the room to sleep on the chairs, where the gas fireplace was, but the Clock which is about a foot in length and diameter was too bright to be able to sleep. Since there was no Wi-Fi, (the password was repeatedly displaying incorrect password), there was no way to contact the owners since we did not have cell service. I could not text, email or call. So although the place was beautiful, I don’t think it’s good for winter since the back rooms where you sleep cannot be heated up without the wood-burning stove and the wood is not supplied. There were two blankets the size and weight of a bath towel so they were not helpful. We were also asked not to use a wood-burning stove unless we had experience with it. I’m guessing that’s why there was no wood. They really don’t want people using it. My suggestion is to wait until April to rent this place.i would definitely come back in the summer when heat wasn’t an issue.
Visited NE Pennsylvania to spend a few days with my son. We found this wonderful cabin in the woods that we both thoroughly enjoyed.
Situated in a very secluded wooded area off a gravel road. It’s very peaceful and relaxing. The cabin is in immaculate condition and well kept. It had pretty much everything we needed for our few days there.
There were only the two of us but could comfortably fit a family of 5/6 (one queen bed in master, 2 twin beds in 2 bedrooms upstairs.
It was fun to sit outside either in the back by the creek or in the front on the 2 chairs.
Next time I visit my son I would certainly love to stay here again.
Clean, spacious and warm. Get everything needed for family vacation. We enjoyed the fireplace so much! The walk in the wood was excellent. Lots of deers.
We visited to attend a nearby family reunion. The home was immaculately clean and well outfitted. Just really well done and homey, inside and out. It is important to note that 2 of the 3 bedrooms are located on an upper level with both bathrooms on the ground floor. We worked with it, but if you are traveling with elderly or mobility impaired, the middle of the night stairs could be an issue. Overall, a great property with super responsive host.
Our family of 5 had a perfect, peaceful weekend spent at this gorgeous, immaculate cabin in the woods! It exceeded every expectation. We are already planning our next trip!!! The only thing to maybe consider (bc it didn't come up on our initial search) is that it also has A/C! We enjoyed many outside adventures but also enjoyed a family movie night in front of the glorious fire place (in August!)! Thank you for everything :)
This property was not only a nicely secluded mountain spot, but the cabin was beautiful and clean. It was a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern amenities (beautiful shower, huge tv, firestick, etc.) This a perfect place to get away and recharge my batteries.
Loved this cabin for our weekend trip! The cabin was spacious, very clean and beautiful. It was appropriately appointed with furnishings, kitchen utensils, and towels/linens. The game room was great and entertained our kids. Outside was very peaceful with beautiful views. The host was very quick to respond when we had questions.
Everything was as good or better than expected.
We absolutely loved our stay, and are already talking about coming back!
Highly recommend.
We have been to many cabins but nothing could match this one. In midst of nature this cabin was very well equipped and the interiors have a charm of its own. We wanted to relax & be away from our busy lives and this location did that for us. The cabin was very clean and all the amenities provided are very well thought for the guest. We are definitely visiting this location again!! A Big THUMPS UP FROM US !!!
My two young daughters and I came to town to ski and were delighted by the property. Well stocked, so organized and clean.
Many colorful touches that felt special and unique. Reminded us we are on vacation while also feeling right at home.
This is a great cabin, in a secluded location but easy to get to and great for skiing at Elk Mountain. Cabin was clean and has a lot of character, a nice mix of old and new. Modern conveniences, great kitchen, and fireplaces add to the venue. It was a very cold weekend and we were cozy and comfortable. Owner is very responsive if you have any questions.
We greatly enjoyed our time at this beautiful cottage in the woods. The house was extremely clean with a well equipped kitchen, inviting gas fireplace, excellent wifi and screens, and plenty of charm. The perfect mix of old fashioned cabin and up-to-date amenities. The owner was very responsive as we tried to figure out how to heat the back of the house on this extraordinarily cold weekend. Definitely pay attention to the guest book suggestion to bring warm slippers. 20 minute drive to Elk Mountain for great skiing, this was the perfect place for apre ski.
This modern cabin is spacious, well appointed and immaculately clean. The wooded setting along a stream is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. Our stay was very peaceful and relaxing. Thank you so much!
