About this property

Family Vacation Lake House on Lake Gaston!

Before booking, please read the full description and the notes that are included- Thank you!

Located off of Lizard Creek on beautiful Lake Gaston, our house is a great spot for family get togethers. With 5 bedrooms including 5 full bathrooms in each bedroom, there is plenty of room to house 14 people comfortably. This home is located in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood, with easy access to a Food Lion, gas station, hardware store, family dollar, ice cream stand, and multiple restaurants located about a mile from the home. There’s plenty of dining space outside, whether you would like to enjoy a meal on the porch or enjoy beautiful views of the lake while dining or cooking out on the deck over the dock. There is also a dining room as well as barstools to enjoy meals. With two separate living rooms, one being on the top floor and one on the bottom floor, kids and adults can have their separate spaces to enjoy activities. This home includes a full size kitchen with a refrigerator, oven with stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, sink, etc.

Guests can tie off a boat to the side of the dock (boat lifts are not available). To access the house by boat, there is a culvert you have to pass through which can fit most pontoon and ski boats as long as things such as the bimini top are folded down. Water depth at the end of the boat house is over 8' deep. There are also two kayaks, two inflatable adult SUPs , and 1 youth SUP for use (life jackets are not provided- guests should bring their own). A gas grill is also available for cooking outdoors, guests are expected to bring their own propane tanks or be prepared to fill up the propane tanks we provide.

Lizard Creek is an amazing part of the lake for those interested in water sports, or just wanting to relax. It is far less busy than the main body of the lake, and more sheltered from the wind, making for some amazing waterskiing, wake boarding, kneeboarding, or just paddling around in a kayak and paddle-board.

We believe our house is perfect for an extended family vacation. With 5 full bathrooms, and an 80 gallon hot water heater, it does wonders for allowing everyone to get ready for the day, or the night. Unwind and relax in the upstairs great room, the downstairs entertainment room, the upper deck patio, sunbathe on the boathouse deck, or just hang out in the downstairs screened porch. It literally has an area to accommodate everyone.

This house is not a place for wild parties, it is meant for family/friend vacations. Gatherings of more than 14 people must be pre-approved by the owners.

A refundable $1000 damage deposit and a $300 cleaning fee is required for all guests who rent this property.

This home does not have a trash pick up service, therefore, guests must dispose of trash on their own. There is a convenient place to dispose of trash about 4 miles from the property.

If you have any questions, feel free to message me.

Family Fun at the Lake
This property was more then we expected. The views, and amenities were great. We had a variety of age groups, and there was plenty of options for everyone. We had great weather, so spent time out on the dock enjoying the sunshine, fishing(no bites), kayaks and paddle boards. The star gazing at night was amazing! My daughter saw her very first shooting star, not once, but twice. We sat around the fire, made s’mores, and enjoyed the nights. The kitchen was a dream for us! We cooked all of our meals, and the convenience of the Food Lion and liquor store was so close. I brought my own spices from home, but there was a limited variety there. Everyone had there own room and beds, but best of all bathrooms. I would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend.

Short Fall Getaway
We enjoyed our short stay with another couple. The home was very clean upon our arrival. The views were beautiful from the deck. I would have to rate the King Size bed in the Master Suite as one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in. Andrew was very easy to communicate with. I would definitely recommend this home to family and friends. Andrew thank you for accommodating our stay.

Clean and Beautiful!
We have stayed in many, many rentals over the past 20 years and this home was one of the cleanest which was very important to us. When you first walked in, the house smelled fresh and clean. The home was well maintained and very comfortable. The property was beautifully landscaped. We spent all of our days at the boathouse with the kids fishing, SUP boarding and enjoying the water or just relaxing on the expansive roof of the boathouse. There were several comfortable lounge chairs and stands for umbrellas up there. There was also a dining table up there large enough for 6 to eat at, which we did several times (there was a lovely breeze up there most of the time). We rented a pontoon boat and wave runners and there was room to dock them. Inside, a comfortable great room where we had game night and relaxed when we needed a break from the sun. Downstairs was a great space for the kids to play video games and just chill after a full day on the water. It was great that each bedroom had its own bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies. Like one other reviewer mentioned, we felt that not having access to the downstairs fridge was a negative. There were two families and a lot of food and drinks to store for 7 days and the kitchen fridge/freezer didn’t cut it. We did use coolers but it was inconvenient having to replenished them with ice throughout the week. This was the only negative, though, and we plan on coming back to this home again!

Summer Fun
The home is lovely with a wonderful view of the lake. It has a beautiful yard and lovely boat dock. It would be nice if the owners would let us use the boat lift that is unoccupied. You can tie up on the side of their dock. Kayaks and paddle boards are available to us which was fun. You will have to put your boat in at the Eaton Ferry Marina and go through a small culvert to get to the property. The home itself is very comfortable and has a lovely view of the lake. We were disappointed that all the bedroom closets were locked and we could not hang our clothes up. The kitchen is pretty well equipped and their is a gas grill available. The boat dock has plenty of seating and even a shaded area with a ceiling fan. This is a very nice home in a quiet inlet.

Wonderful accommodations at Lake Gaston.
Vacations at Lake Gaston are always great but our guest house on Lizzard Creek this year put it over the top. The house is located in a private setting with a stunning yard and boat dock. The house is spacious with 5 bedrooms (each with private bathrooms) and 2 gathering areas. It was spotless and welcoming. The beds were THE BEST. The appliances were new as were all the dishes and pots and pans. The water was calm and great for swimming and kayaking. But one of the special benefits of this property is the owner. He was so helpful and available to answer any questions. You can’t go wrong in choosing this home for your stay on Lake Gaston.

Nice place to make great memories
A nice place for our (large)immediate family to vacation together. The house was comfortably large to accommodate all of us. The convenience of the dock was great to fish, swim and jump on the boat for more fun. The community at the lake was also great. Everyone was friendly and welcoming.

Great Family Vacation House
The lake house is perfect for a small family vacation. Check-in is easy. There are plenty of rooms and beds and we liked that each room had its own dedicated bathroom. We also enjoyed the 2 separate living rooms - one for the kids and one for the adults to enjoy after a long day on the water. The kitchen seemed to be better stocked now than previous reviews mentioned. We brought a few extra things based on those reviews, but only ended up needing a sharp knife and casserole dish. We had no issues with only one fridge for our group. We had an issue on the last night of our stay with a beeping low battery on a smoke detector in one of the downstairs rooms. The ceilings are so high that we were unable to reach it. Andrew was very responsive and apologetic. He was unable to send someone out that night, which was understandable, and thankfully we were young enough to be able to climb on a bunk bed and remove the battery! The dock is very nice and where we spent most of our time. We were able to dock our pontoon rental on the side easily which was nice because the kids used the ladder off the back of the boat to get in and out of the water. We didn't use the top deck much because of the amount of sun it got and there weren't any umbrellas. We did have an issue with a large active wasp nest on the dock and my Dad was stung the first night, but we were able to buy some wasp spray and knock the nest down with a paddle. We enjoyed the kayaks and paddleboard provided. We brought our own floats and noodles and spent hours floating in the quiet cove. The fishing off the dock was great too - the kids caught so many small fish! There was a huge catfish and bass that live under the dock and we spent all week trying to catch them - maybe someone else will have better luck! We knew going into our vacation that the culvert to get out the main lake was small, but we were shocked at how tight! The first pass through was a little scary, but we felt like pros by the end of the week. The only good thing about the small pass through is that most other boats aren't coming into that part of the lake, so it was very quiet around the house. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this house for families looking for a quiet vacation!

The perfect lake house!
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The house was even more beautiful than in the pictures and had everything we needed. The owners did a great job of providing every detail we needed to know ahead of time either in the description or in the welcome guide. They gave us perfect instructions on the boat ramp and how to tackle the culvert! It felt like our own private cove once on the other side with few boats and calm waters. The open floor plan in the main living space was awesome. We used the stools from the kitchen bar at the main table whenever everyone was eating together and it worked perfectly! They let us know the second refrigerator would not be available for use in the description but with Food Lion being 3 minutes away, it wasn't a problem at all!! The house was clean and all the beds were comfortable. And each room having their own bathroom was a huge plus! The dock was fully equipped with loungers, chairs, floaties and kayaks. My family loved to jump off the top dock, float in the quiet cove or rest under the covered portion. We definitely plan to stay again and can't thank Andrew enough for his responsiveness and dedication to ensure that we enjoyed our stay.

Great house for the lake
The property was great. Large, airy, great bedrooms, kitchen was very open. Very cozy. The house wasn’t cleaned great, as there were many things we noticed that could have been cleaned a little better. Great outside space and dock. Would have been nice to have some more toys to use in the water and maybe some other indoor games (ping pong, pool, etc), but the only reason I say this is that our family had 3 houses in the area and other homes had a ton of water toys and inside games. But overall was a good place to stay, and just as listed in the description online.

I am really sorry to only leave a 4-star review
This is a beautiful house, with an awesome dock, located on a very peaceful part of the lake. There were a couple of things that I would offer as suggestions that would then warrant a 5-star rating from me. - People rent this house because of how many it can sleep. As a result, you should provide access to the refrigerator downstairs, as any single fridge upstairs will never hold the amount of food and drink you have for as many beds as you have in the house. It would also be nice if there was one big table where everyone could sit (not a big deal as you have enough places to sit, just not all together). If you have small kids you might not want to sit with them, but mine are all young adults that I want to reconnect with. - Trash Service, I see this as a must have. It can't be that expensive, and it sure is a hassle having to wrangle your own trash out at the end of the week. Please bring a truck for this task, as you I don't imagine you want to haul bags of trash in your car. - It would be nice to have umbrellas available as I think there were multiple umbrella stands but no umbrellas we could find. Not a big deal, but the shade would be nice on the upper deck. There were some other little things, but nothing worth hashing out here. For any potential guests looking at this place, do not let this review scare you away. These guys were great to rent from. The house is beautiful, and you can't hardly see the houses on either side because of the trees, very nice and private. Thank you, and I offer this info as a way to better prepare other guests and to hopefully offer some constructive feedback:)

Perfect lake view!
We had a great time at this lovely lake front property. The house is spacious, comfortable, and clean with plenty of room for our 3 families - total of 14 guests. The beds are comfortable and there are lots of chairs and seats in all areas for everyone. The dock is where we spent the majority of our days and nights. The kids loved jumping off of the top dock and the adults enjoyed fishing and floating. The lack of trash service was a bit of hassle, particularly in the summer with animals and heat making a stinky gross mess. There are a few basic cooking supplies, but the kitchen was a bit bare. If you plan to cook, be sure to bring a good knife and cutting board and all spices/oils you’ll need. Overall we had a great time and would recommend this home to any large group. Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us!

Family Vacay
The house was lovely. Since we had all adults with us everyone loved having their own bathrooms! There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. If you are planning to cook you will need to bring a few items such as casserole dishes and oven mitts. The cove is very peaceful and quiet. Our favorite spot was the boat dock. The area with the ceiling fan was wonderful on hot days. There is plenty of seating for everyone. We would like to be able to pull our boat into the second slip instead of having to tie it off. We would love to stay in this home again and would and have recommended it to our friends.

Perfect lake house
This lake house was great. Trees on both sides made you forget any other homes were around. The cove where this house is located is very quiet. The lake was great for skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, ect. The house was large and well organized. It also had plenty of beds. Each room has its own bathroom and shower or tub. The house is very clean and updated. There is a lot of outdoor space and seating. Overall, I will definitely be renting this property again. It was the perfect location to spend with family and friends for a weekend away. Very close to a grocery store and abc liquor store, so it was not an inconvenience to grab any extra supplies.

Great house, great location
This house was a perfect place for our getaway. It’s nice that there is a bathroom attached to each bedroom. Excellent views from all over the house. The second floor of the boathouse is a great place to spend mornings and evenings. We all made the jump off the second floor of the boathouse into the water, even though the water was a bit cool still. Already talking about staying longer next year.
