Little Dipper is a delightful guest cottage situated directly across from the beach in Seaside, complementing the main house, Starry Night. A charming side porch with Adirondack seating for two welcomes you down the footpath, ideal for enjoying morning coffee or an evening nightcap. A nearby sandy footpath leads straight to the beach, just a few steps away. This cottage is conveniently located across from Odessa Pavilion and only two blocks from the Seaside Amphitheater, dining options, and shopping, making it the perfect spot for all things Seaside.

The first floor features an open living area with a small dining table that seats four, a cozy living space, and an adjacent kitchen. The fully equipped kitchen includes a four-burner stovetop, microwave, and compact dishwasher.

On the second floor, you'll find a queen bed, mounted TV, full bath, and a Juliette balcony - the perfect place to view the "Little Dipper" at night.

For additional space, you can also rent the main three-bedroom cottage, Starry Night.

* 3 night minimum Spring, Spring Break, Summer, and Fall; 2 night minimum Winter. Must be 25 years of age to rent and sign registration.

Short Weekday Stay
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a quick trip to tour properties for sale, so I didn’t focus too much on the rental since I would hardly be there. My fault, not the properties, but it is very small. I just like more space. Air conditioning is a little lacking and it got warm in the bedroom upstairs. We also had lots of rain while there, so bugs were hangin around with us inside. Otherwise it’s fine.

Short getaway
Enjoyed the small house. Had everything we needed. But upstairs was rather warm due to the engineering of A/C system. The listing on VRBO showed a large porch but this unit did not have it, it belonged to the large house on the property. Disappointed, was looking forward to sitting out on it. The shower/foot wash outside did not work. Unable to clean off shoes of sand before entering house. We also believe that the $400 resort fee is steep for our very short stay. We only used the pool once. Otherwise we had a great time.

Great getaway for 2!
My husband and I just spent a few days in the Little Dipper. Besides the great location, the home felt comfortable and well appointed. Great linens and service/ communication with the management. We enjoyed the proximity to the water, to Seaside, and all the other wonderful amenities in the area.

Beautiful Beach but Entertainment Options Limited

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our rental had a good location near the food court and beach. The beach and community was spotless. I would have liked more entertainment options. I expected there would be live music/events for at least a few nights as the website says there is a pavilion for events so I thought there would be something but there was nothing to do in the evenings. My biggest dislike is the massive amount of steps that go over the dunes. Guests really should be warned about this because it is a hassle to climb over the steps to go to the beach while lugging beach gear. It could be impossible for guests to access the beach if they have back or mobility problems. Also, the Little Dipper could use a coat of interior paint and some freshening up of furnishings. It is starting to look a bit worn. I wouldn't recommend Seaside even though it is a beautiful community based on the high price combined with difficulty in easily accessing the beach with the limited entertainment and dining options.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were very happy with our choice of Little Dipper for our short getaway in Seaside. The house itself is quite small, but very charming and perfectly fine for a couple’s visit. Importantly, the place was clean, the bed was comfy, and there were some nice extras included in the package. These included a complementary beach bag with towels, I love wine, coffee, and very helpful and precise instructions on everything we needed to know. We loved the close proximity to the beach and the fact that we were just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the town center. The property managers were very responsive. We found that if their phone line was busy, or the hold time was long, we could get a very quick response by text. We will definitely look to Homeowner’s Collection next time we book in Seaside.

Parking was a bit tricky on then main road and someone was booked in the main house and had 2 vehicles, so couldn't park there. Overall unit was clean, but we did find a few roaches, sugar ants and other pets during our stay.The microwave handle was broken, light in kitchen out and large burner on stove did not work upon our arrival. We did not have a wine bottle opener in the unit and management company was quick to respond and bring us one!

This stay had everything we needed and was a perfect fit. I especially think this cottage hits all the high notes with a tub, washer/dryer, grill, and full size fridge. Those amenities make a longer stay much more enjoyable so you can eat in and not pack more than these smaller spaces can comfortably hold. It is one of the spots right on 30A but we didn’t notice that it was noisy by any means. It’s also located on a street with one of my favorite pavilions. Odessa is a dreamy spot to watch a sunset. I hope to snag this rental again!

The Little Dipper is directly across the street from the private beach access so it is so easy to get to the beach. It is also very short walking distance from the center of all action in Seaside.

I would suggest bringing your own. There were also no coffee filters for the coffee pot. The selection of silverware was a bit odd. I think there was only 1 or 2 spoons. The tree branches were scraping the windows during the night and day so it would be nice if they trimmed them just a little. There were mant thunderstorms during our stay and it was so cozy being upstairs hearing the rain on the windows. This cottage is right next to town and down the alley from the pool. We love Seaside and will definitely be back!

Some issues: The microwave only cooked in spots which left food raw in some areas and burnt in others.The light on the stove was out so hard to see what I was cooking. The chairs outside on the porch area needed to be cleaned/painted. Tiny space on bottom level with a tiny tv. I believe there were hornets in the walls behind the bathroom upstairs--they buzzed non-stop.
