Five star family vacation!

The photos do not do this VRBO justice. It's beyond better in person! We especially enjoyed fishing in the private pond, feeding their adorable alpacas and listening to the frogs at night! During the afternoon we escaped the heat by swimming in the American River, which is less than 15 minutes away. Thank you so much Sandy and Tom for your gracious hospitality! We look forward to returning to your beautiful oasis.

Amazing property

Perfect location! Just a few minutes from everything you could possibly need. Very peaceful and serene property. Three ponds, with one available for fishing right outside our door. The hosts are available if you need them, but otherwise it's like they're not even there. We visited this property at the same time last year, for the first time. Needless to say, this place will probably be an annual tradition for us! Thank you Sandy & Tom, for sharing your amazing property with us, see you next year!

Beautiful in the end

I was looking forward to staying at this property because of the country setting. And that aspect of the property, was the highlight of my stay. Very peaceful. Lovely. I had a problem with some cleanliness issues, and contacted the owner who quickly resolved the issue, which I greatly appreciated . I do find positives and negatives with this property. The views are beautiful and it is definitely peaceful. However, I find the over abundance of children’s toys to be odd. I think they should be stored away. Also, the kitchen is very sparse with regard to spices, utensils, and cooking supplies. You should bring anything you think you need or else plan on eating out. I think the construction of the apartment is excellent. However, the interior could be greatly improved and updated. As a single person without a family, I am not that interested in looking at toys all over the place. Again I stress that the architectural design of the apartment is excellent but so much more could be done with it. I did not watch television, but I thought thought the futon should have pillows to make it more comfortable to watch TV. The place is small. If you have more than three people I think he would feel cramped. Would I return? Yes.

Comfortable country stay with kids

We drove up from the Bay Area to see friends that live nearby, and thought it would be nice to allow our twin 5 year old's to experience a little bit of nature. The guest suite delivered - clean, comfortable, and well stocked. Our children enjoyed feeding the animals, and making scrambled eggs (thank you Sandy). We "pretend" fished in the fish pond, just casting into the pond with the provided poles. It was lovely. We also took a hike on the Monte Vista trail (2 minutes or less away), which was perfect for little ones. Location is country, but a 5-7 minute drive to Safeway and restaurants.

Back home again

Very nice place brought back great memories of our home and time in Shingle Springs!! Great views and beautifully kept property. One improvement would be to add a stove/oven, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Thank you for your hospitality!

Quiet and peacerful

Very clean, and quiet. Great location, you feel out in the country, although very close to all El Dorado Hills/Folsom has to offer.

Rural respite

The guest house overlooks three ponds with a stream flowing into the first and onto the others. Across the pond we saw alpacas. There are also chickens and lots of wild turkeys and a friendly, sweet old Labrador that greeted us a few times. The accommodations were spacious and beautiful. It was chilly, so we didn’t spend much time outside. It would be fun to explore the property and greet the animals in warmer days. Truly a lovely rural spot and yet convenient to shops and restaurants about 10 minutes drive.

All you need to visit again and again

Very well maintained property. Nice owners. Friendly pets (Chickens, dogs, Alpacas, bunny, goose). Kayaking was fun. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and kids really really loved the place. Will be visiting soon.

Great family experience

The suite was a perfect size for me, my wife, and our 2 year old son. It was 100 degrees outside but the A/C kept us cool inside the house. We got to feed the alpacas, chickens, ducks, and bunny on the property. We also caught fish, played in the mini playground, and best of all, hang out with their super friendly dog, Jack. Restaurants, supermarkets, Lake Natoma, and Folsom Lake, are all less than 15 minutes away. Must try the beef noodle soup at Rice Express, the fried chicken sandwich, Old Folsom burger, and Tiramisu cake at Represa Grill. The owner, Sandy was very nice and quick to respond to text messages. We really enjoyed our stay there and hope to visit again soon.

A perfect weekend!

Our stay here was amazing! So much for my kids to enjoy ! We were allowed to feed all the animals , fish and kayak. A perfect balance of play and relaxing for us all ! My daughter caught 4 fish !

Beautiful Setting

We were greeted by the sweetest yellow lab who escorted us to the Guest courters. The room is located behind the main house surrounded by decking that overlooks a pond. It is a very serene setting in a beautiful property. We watched a deer with her fawns, turkeys, ducks, a llama, and turtles. If you have kids, the room is prepared with games, toys, books, and an Xbox 360. I appreciated how instructions were labeled with pictures. Clearly the host thought of every detail. Finally, communication was perfect. I will definitely return.

Perfect place to stay!

This was our first Vrbo experience and we could not have hoped for a better one! The property was exactly as described. It was safe, clean, and absolutely beautiful! The hosts are amazing and kept everything contactless. They communicated as needed through the Vrbo app and made sure we had a great experience! They are very friendly and created a warm and inviting atmosphere. I highly recommended this property! My whole family enjoyed kayaking on the private pond and the other amenities. Close to Folsom, Roseville, & Rocklin! We plan to stay again next time we visit the area!

Amazing property

Location wise, it was perfect. Just a five minute drive, from anything you could need. Multiple supermarkets, restaurants, Folsom Lake. Property was peaceful and serene. Nature and animals everywhere. Three fishing ponds about 80 yards from our entrance. We spent every evening watching the sun go down, while fishing at the ponds. If you want to relax in a peaceful environment. This place is for you. We will have a return visit.

Wonderful family getaway

Salmon Valley Farm was one of the best getaways our family has ever had. When we arrived, kayaks and fishing poles were out and ready for us to use. We jumped right on to using them right away. The small living area, kitchen, excellent collection of books and games were just the perfect indoor amenities for us to spend our quality time together. There was a TV and movies as well but we took advantage of the nature we don't normally have easy access to. Out-of-doors, the massive property with playground, ponds and animals were just a freeing and open space for us- compared to our usual cramped suburban environment. The property is gated and fenced and we never felt un-safe to let our kids roam around. We saw Sandy and Tom outside at some times but we were always very safely distanced. They were always responsive to any questions we had through text messaging and we never needed to meet them up close, in-person. We became so comfortable on the expansive property that we felt we did not need our masks and that was extremely liberating. Salmon Valley Farm is located close enough to groceries (such as 99 Ranch), that it is easy to order delivery via services such as Instacart. Our kids loved feeding the farm animals (chickens, duck, ducklings, alpacas), picking fruit from the fruit trees all over the property, and kayaking. It was so incredibly nice to be somewhere where there is a body of water right outside your door where you free to hop into a kayak whenever you want. We loved hearing the water, crickets, birds, turkeys and cows (in the distance) and seeing more stars in the sky at night than you would in the city. We were sad to leave and would definitely visit again.

Private Apartment on the water

We enjoyed our stay here at the Salmon Valley Ranch. Behind a secured gate was the attached apartment over looking one of three large ponds. The fountain was the perfect white noise to enjoy the scenery and relax. The kitchen was perfectly stocked with items you will need for cooking. Extensive movie and xbox selection. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of extra pillows and linens for our stay. We enjoyed lunch on the patio, and our daughter was obsessed with the farm dog, Jack. He was so friendly and kind. She loved seeing the llamas and chickens, and also playing on the play structure and sand box. Very close to Folsom Lake and local activities. We enjoyed to the exclusivity and privacy of this property. The owners were available if needed, but did not bother us. We highly recommend this place to stay. Very kid friendly and also perfect for a romantic get-a-way.

Beautiful place to rest and relax

Perfectly located for our visit to El Dorado County. Beautiful suite overlooking the pond. Great communication with hosts and easy check in/check out process. We were thankful to have such a great place to stay.

Amazing place

This was an amazing property to stay at. So many things to do and see. Our kids loved it as much as we did. Not only is the property great but the owners are super kind and accommodating. A+ all around.
