Turning Paradise into Hell
There are two types of property owners: - those that treat you as members of their extended family and those that seem to believe that holiday makers are some sort of human subspecies deserving of no respect.
Rarely do people that you deal with directly form part of the 2nd group. The truly evil put an agency between themselves and the client.
This property has one of the most idyllic locations on earth. You would have to work really hard to stuff that up but these owners do work extremely had at it.
There is no in-apartment Wi-Fi, it says there is cable TV but no more than two (Italian) TV channels work at any time. The TV screens are the cheapest possible and smaller than that on my laptop. It is the lounge room equivalent of leaving one sheet of toilet paper on the bog roll. What sort of mind dreams this nasty stuff up? There is no air con and only one low wattage light bulb not suitable for reading in the lounge. All you can do in this place at night is sit around and sweat.
That mean spiritedness overflowed to everything. There was no toilet paper actually, no cleaning stuff of any kind at all, no al. foil, cling wrap or any of the normal things a home owner supplies so that you can look after the place for them.
The worst was yet to come, however. As there are no floor coverings, wall hangings or anything else to absorb noise, the place is a giant echo chamber.
The owner allowed an Irish wedding party to book out the rest of the accommodation. I’ll bet you she doesn’t have weeding parties come and stay with her. Of course they partied all day and all night. We are still recovering from the lack of sleep now.
All, I can say is, thank God for the review function of this website. No one deserves to get away with this.
