Very cute little cabin. Its about a 15 minute drive from the actual cabin down the mountain to get into downtown Gatlinburg. Super cozy. Will stay here again.
Perfect family cabin + got to observe family of 5 bears!
Stayed in this cabin with our two children, 9 and 7. Didn't even need to use the third bedroom. Master bedroom (upstairs) has couch on the landing just outside the room which our 7yo decided would help her feel closer to us, so that was also a plus. Television in the master and one of the lower level rooms so kids had their own tv with cable and on-demand cartoons. Got to see a family of 5 bears (one mama + 4 adolescents) on a Sunday morning when there were no construction workers around and driving in and out. There is a lot of construction around these mountains due to the fires several years ago and to the area's popularity, so the weekends were best for observing wildlife. 15 minute drive to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge so location was perfect. We really enjoyed our stay.
The cabin was perfect for our weekend Christmas themed getaway! We loved all the sweet Christmas touches! The cleanliness was great and had no problem getting settled and relaxing as soon as we got there!
This was an amazing property! We went to Tennessee celebrating our 18 year anniversary with a couple members of our family. My sister and I did a lot of research checking out different cabins in the area. This one definitely stuck out to me because of the Christmas décor. I am 100% a sucker for Christmas bears!! We arrived to our cabin about 6 PM and there were 2 bears one was walking underneath of the deck absolutely breathtaking I loved watching them in their habitat looking for ants or whatever they were looking for It was quite amazing! When we went inside of the cabin it was absolutely gorgeous All of the pinewood everything was clean No bugs or critters inside. The only issue that we had at this cabin was the picnic table outside But we let them know they immediately said that they would get that taken care of. On the last day we were there we had another visit from the 2 bears we watched them look for food Climb a tree it was just absolutely perfect they came to visit on our 1st night there and on our last to say goodbye lol. I would absolutely go back to this cabin again. I will say though the 1st day driving up was a little scary Once I got comfortable driving it it didn't seem so scary.
My family and I could not have been happier with the Christmas Bear cabin. If you want a cabin to look rustic but still feel top of line -this is it. Huge wrap around porch to look at the views, watch the wild life -which there is no shortage of!! This cabin was beyond clean when we arrived. The cabin came with so many amenities which is extremely helpful when traveling with kids! From fully stocked linens and towels to a bottle of dish soap! They really think of everything to help your stay!! I will say -the roads are a bit tricky and can be a bit scary at times , but that’s the nature of staying in the mountains!! I would recommend leaving your car at the bottom of the driveway and just walk up the driveway! You won’t be disappointed by the Christmas Bear. Our kids are 9,6,and 1. And this cabin was perfect for us!
We loved staying in this cabin! It’s far enough up the mountain to feel secluded yet close enough to town. The view from the side porch is amazing.
It took a few days to get used to the drive up and down (we don’t have roads like that where we’re from) but I’m so glad we stayed up there. It really is beautiful.
The cabin was clean and had the supplies we needed to start the week. We had a great time!
We loved staying at Christmas Bear. Everything was so clean and perfectly decorated. We loved the hot tub so much that our daughter never asked to use the pool. We saw two bears right in the driveway! The location was perfect-on the outskirts of Gatlinburg right next to the bypass into the National Park. The drive up and down out of the neighborhood was quite steep and curvy-my daughter loved it though and compared it to a roller coaster. We would definitely stay here again.
The upstairs was unusable because of it always being too hot or cold depending upon the temp outside. The patio gave us splinters & had wobbly hand railing. The coffee pot & kitchen counter had cockroaches & bugs.
The cabin was wonderful. Great views. The only i had a problem with was the rodes leading up to property.. It was very uncomfortable for my family because most of rode does not have guardrails. I think that should be told to guest. I had real bad anxiety because it was a surprise to me. But that is not the property problem.
This cabin was wonderful! We loved the hot tub and relaxing in front of the wood burning fireplace! With 3 bedrooms, it gives everyone enough space. Everyone we talked to at the rental company was so helpful and friendly!
Things to note:
1) We loved the wood burning fireplace! FYI - There's no gas starter in the fireplace, so bring some kindling and other fire starters along with your wood. We bought a couple of Duralogs and they helped a lot.
2) We were unfamiliar with Gatlinburg and didn't realize there were a lot of winding mountain roads to get to the cabins. Not too difficult, just not the type of place where you just "run out" because you forgot something at the grocery store. We would enjoy all the things around Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and then head back to the cabin. Worked fine for us since we wanted to get back to the cabin early evening to relax in front of the fire or in the hottub! Perfect cabin for that!
Everything about our 6 night stay at the Christmas Bear Cabin was perfect . From checking in , to the cleanliness and decor . Out trip to Gatlinburg was out family Christmas gift to each other . I knew when I saw the listing online with the cabin decor it was EXACTLY what I wanted for our family . Little did we know we would get snow on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day that made our entire experience the best Christmas we’ve ever had . I asked my sons (16 & 12 ) on a scale of 1-10 how would they describe the cabin I chose and their vacation ...they both gave it a 20 !!! I can’t think of anything better than that to say about our stay !
We LOVED this cabin. It was very clean and literally a home away from home. The beds were super comfy too. The owners were very responsive to any questions!! The only thing that would have made our vacation better was to see bears lol.
We had a fantastic time. Snow was on the ground when we arrived but by the next day it warmed up and all melted. Best of both worlds. We also had a visit from momma bear and three cubs (frightening and exciting). Needless to say that we opted not to use the grill it hot tub after that. The house was warm and cozy romantic in fact with all of the wood and Christmas decorations. We enjoyed it emencly. Would definitely book again!!!
Easily accessible, close to everything, located between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Close to the Park, close to shopping, far enough away from the hustle and bustle! We loved our trip. It was perfect!
We loved this rental! It’s close to town but far enough away to be peaceful. Great views. And bears! We saw that there were bears in the neighborhood but didn’t think we’d see them. One night we forgot to lock our car door and they made themselves at home! The next morning a mama bear and her 3 cubs played in the yard for about 45 minutes! My 2 year old was in heaven watching them. 100% recommend staying here just make sure you lock your doors!
We’ve been doing a family “girls trip” to Gatlinburg since 2004. We typically pick a different one every year, but can honestly say we’ll probably come back to this one. Love all the “Christmas”. Very clean. Close to Gatlinburg strip and Pigeon Forge parkway.
We enjoyed our stay. It was in a great location and we got to see 3 bears one morning. Any issues we had were quickly addressed by the owner. We look forward to staying here again soon.
Key safe was difficult to open.....needs replacing. NO wine glasses. Bathroom sinks did not drain properly. Need more lighting (Undercabinet, lamps in living room). Cabin was very clean and equipped properly. Could use some outdoor landscaping to add curb appeal value, since views were limited. Had a great time and good memories were made. Thanks
