Island Paradise

The cabin is absolutely gorgeous, it’s still close to the road but the property feels woodsy with a lot of trees. We loved everything about our stay, we didn’t catch many fish but that was okay. The weather was perfect and would highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to reconnect with nature!!

Beautiful

What a wonderful view! Our kids loved the little beach area and how shallow and sandy it was in front of the house! It was quiet and comfortable. Its not fancy or rustic, it hits just right for a comfortable family gathering for fishing, swimming games. Would love to come back again someday!

Perfect waterfront getaway

If you’re looking for a clean place out in the country on the water, this is your spot. The beach was perfect for the kids to play in the water and the cabin was clean with everything you need to enjoy your stay. We will be staying here again.

Ships, Ships and more Ships

We enjoyed the peacefulness of Sugar Island. The cabin was very nice and had EVERYTHING in the kitchen that you could possibly need!! I was very surprised to find it so well stocked. It was amazing to watch the ships float by, one after another. We counted an average of 5 a day! My hubby and son were a bit disappointed that they were unable to land a trophy fish, but they had fun trying! I definitely recommend staying here, Cris was very quick at answering any questions we had. Thanks for sharing your lovely cabin with us!!!

Freighter Heaven

We loved our fall getaway at this adorable cabin. The fall colors were gorgeous and the weather couldn't have been better! Sunny and cool temperatures so we could explore the area comfortably as a family with our 2 dogs. We especially loved seeing the freighters lumber past the cabin- our favorite times were lounging on the huge porch early in the morning and late at night when the lights from the freighters drifted past. We hope to return for a summer trip! The cabin had EVERYTHING! It was comfortable and cozy- a true gem!

Perfect Spot, Perfect Island, Perfect Cabin

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and came home well rested and relaxed. The cabin is beautiful and the views are gorgeous. We say multiple frieghters going north throughout our stay. We cooked outside every night except the first when we ordered pizza from the bar on the island (which was very good as well). We went to the community market on Saturday morning and bought an amazing blueberry pie from Farendy Farms. This is also who I ordered wood from, so we could have fires in the firepit every night. The mosquitoes were non-existent. We were there in mid-September. We saw the ship museum in Sault Ste. Marie and the Soo Locks on another day. The cabin and beds were extremely comfortable and we slept very well for our entire stay. We will definitely be back! Also, everyone is extremely friendly on the island. Everyone waves at you, it's like living in Mayberry in the 21st century. Truly amazing!

Family Vacy 2023

We are previous renters from 2021 and we enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed it so much that we came back this summer and brought our adult children and enjoyed the river, fishing and boating. We traveled to Canada and celebrated the 4th in Sault St. Marie and always enjoyed our quiet evening back at the cabin with the cool breeze coming off the river. Love this place it will not disappoint!

A Cozy Island Paradise with Freighters & Fall Colors

What a fantastic lil getaway we had to Sugar Island! The rainbow of October fall colors were vibrant all over the island. The cabin is beautiful and so cozy, instantly feeling like home away from home. They thought of everything here, keeping it so well-stocked from the kitchen to bathrooms to laundry to beach. The living room is very comfortable with two soft recliner couches, fleece throw blankets and a big screen TV. The kitchen is stocked with every dish and utensil you need, spices and coffee supplies, crockpot, grilling, you name it. The upstairs blew our son's mind, with 6 incredibly comfortable beds to choose from plus a gaming area with comfy couch & big tv - he was in heaven! And then we stepped outside and were just as wowed by the attached screen porch, huge deck, lots of seating, and beautiful beach area. The neighbors on both sides are visible but far enough away to keep to yourself. It was very quiet & peaceful during our stay and felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The passing freighters were amazing, and such a treat to experience in person so closely! We tracked them on marine tracking online so we could know when they would be passing through, it added a whole level of excitement to our trip. The yard, the beach, the home, the location -- all top notch and overall we were so impressed. We've been to many U.P. vacation rentals with our family and this place quickly became one of our favorites! Thanks so much for sharing this amazing lil piece of Sugar Island paradise with us.

We love this place!!!

Kids, parents, and grandparents all loved the cabin! It is well-kept and stocked with everything we needed plus much more! We immediately felt right at home. The kids loved the upstairs loft and the big window up there! We especially enjoyed playing on the sandy beach, swimming, watching the freighters go by, playing games, and exploring the Sault Ste. Marie area. We took the Valley Camp Ship Tour and were surprised by how much of the ship we got to explore! We would definitely stay here again!

Quiet Place Where the World Goes By

Quiet semi secluded cabin with gorgeous view. Watch ships of all sizes glide by on the opposite shore a couple of times a day. Nice compact kitchen with pots, pans, and all the odds and ends a cook needs Really enjoyed walking the trails at Chase Osborn Preserve and watching the eagles fly by from the deck. Easy to find and the ferry access was super fast.
