I stayed here for my daughter's graduation from VT and loved the accommodations! The former in-law suite was well-appointed, very clean, and very quiet. The complimentary wine (from a local winery) and the homemade cookies were delicious - a nice, welcoming surprise! There are plenty of bath towels; nice ones, at that! Soap, shampoo, condition, etc. was provided and there was more than enough for our 2-night stay. A small bottle of dish soap, a new sponge, paper towels, and dishwasher tablets are all provided, along with extra trash bags if needed. The Keurig coffee maker and coffee pods, along with individual creamers (stored in the fridge), sugar, and Splenda came in handy both mornings! We didn't do any cooking, but all of the kitchen utensils and place settings seem to be there.
The location is about an hour from Blacksburg, VA where we spent most of our time. I had the pleasure of meeting Bill, the owner, in person. A VT graduate himself, he was complimentary of my daughter's success at VT. He had a very pleasant demeanor and was most attentive to our needs. He provided some insight into the local area and things to do. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to do any of them, but I do plan to return. I was able to get some reading in on the screened porch. At night, it is pleasantly lighted with string lights around the canopy. There was a table and chairs for outdoor dining as well as a gas grill for our use. Again, all the comforts of home were included in our stay!
We ate supper one night at the "Foot of the Mountain Cafe", one recommended by the owners, Bill and Kathy. It was a short drive from the house, and we found the food and service to be very good. The atmosphere is very casual at the Cafe and has a small bar and an outdoor seating area. ($3.00 Jack and Coke specials on Friday nights.)
All-in-all, it was a great stay! I would recommend this VRBO to everyone. Thank you to Bill and Kathy for making us feel right at home. I hope to visit again soon.
