A gorgeous, secluded, rustic farmhouse with large pool and magnificent views

Gleyaire is a family home bursting with rustic charm, and over the years has proved to be the most perfect place to enjoy with family and friends without any of the day to day distractions.
The young especially thrive and there is no need to go anywhere: the large 12m x 6m pool is a natural focus, with sun-loungers, umbrellas and plenty of space. Pool safety is incredibly important, and in the first 4 months of 2025 the pool will be refurbished and fitted with an electric cover. It can be closed at the push of a button, when not in use. When not by the pool enjoy boules, ping-pong, swings, hammocks and free use of the local tennis court in the village. There are acres to roam with wooded trails and wildlife everywhere, hours of fun to be had.
Popular activities such as canoeing, riding, golf and bicycle-hire are all available nearby.

The house itself is large and spacious, with 2 king size double and 2 twin bedrooms and a 4 bed dormitory (at one end of the house for those noisy little ones!). Luxury mattresses (except dormitory) with Egyptian cotton linen mean you will sleep well. There are terraces on each side of the house allowing for shade/sun at any time. The large balcony behind the house has seating for 12 and stunning views across the valley below. The smaller terrace to the front is perfect for some morning sun.
The kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need to feed 12, and there are 4 bathrooms, a dining room, living room and laundry room.

There is a 'market day' most days in one of the local villages, as well as annual fêtes for some evening fun. A morning run to Touffailles or Bourg de Visa for croissants and pains au chocolat soon becomes part of the ritual.

Toulouse and Bergerac international airports are both just over an hour away. The historic hill town of Lauzerte is 8 miles away, and Moissac with its beautiful cloisters is also nearby.
Other attractions include Rocamadour, Albi, the dramatic 'Gorges du Tarn', the Pyrenees, canoeing on the Lot, Aveyron and Cele rivers, the wines of Cahors, restaurants, truffles, paté de fois gras etc.

perfect getaway with friends

we had a fantastic stay in this beautiful country villa. so secluded, so peaceful, perfect for larking about with a large group of friends. we will be back.

Rural retreat in splendid isolation!!

Large property with flexible accommodation to suit family & friends reunion. Large, deep and well maintained swimming pool. Substantial grounds on very steep hillside. Scree drive suitable for 4x4 access. Excellent size living rooms, dining room, bathrooms. Communication with owner excellent. Table tennis on site. Two local villages with bakeries, teamnis courts, one with a bar. Beautiful medieval Bastide villlage with Intermarché a little further afield. We had a fantastic three week holiday and this would auit those who enjoy outsoor living, aports, activities more than urban nightlife.

Une vraie maison familiale de vacances.

Nous avons passé un séjour parfait en famille. Nos enfants ont pu profiter des équipements ludiques (tennis de table, pétanque, badmington) laissés à disposition, et nous avons eu des vacances très paisibles dans cette maison bien équipée et fraîche durant l'été. La disposition des chambres et des pièces de vie permet d'être nombreux sans se gêner. Beaucoup de visites et balades à faire autour, nous sommes restés 2 semaines sans nous ennuyer. La maison a un charme fou, la décoration est élégante et authentique, dans un cadre de pierre chaude et de cigales. Un très bel été à Fauroux, nous espérons revenir !

Belle maison, super pour un grand groupe.

Très bonne semaine dans cette belle et grande maison. En pleine nature, au calme, la maison est tres agréable à vivre avec ses nombreux espaces. Le lieu est très beau, tout le charme de l’ancien et de la campagne ! Le beau temps nous a permis de largement profiter de la grande piscine ensoleillée, du Ping Pong, des bbq, des repas sur la jolie terrasse et du grand terrain autour de la maison. Enfants comme adultes (nous étions 11) ont beaucoup aimé. Seul bémol, l’équipement est un peu juste pour les grands groupes et un peu « rustique » (Mais il sera facile d’y remédier dans le futur). Et un petit coup de frais par endroit serait bienvenu. Merci à Andrew pour sa réactivité et son attention à nos demandes. Très bonne communication. En définitive, une très bonne semaine dans une belle maison. Super pour des vacances entre amis !

Nous avons passé d’excellents moments dans cette maison atypique, perchée au milieu de nul part: nombreuses chambres, terrasses ensoleillées et grande piscine. Le matériel n’est pas tout neuf, et mériterait un petit renouvellement (nombre de couverts, fusible qui saute, serviettes de toilette trouées…).

Charmant séjour à La Gleyaire

Nous avons pu passer une semaine entre 12 amis dans cette charmante maison atypique. Construite sur un roc, avec ses différents étages et niveaux nous sommes tombés sous le charme de cette demeure. La maison est spacieuse et offre différents coins de tranquillité. Le calme y est présent partout, nous avons vraiment été coupés du monde et avons pu profiter de diverses activités qu'offre la maison: piscine, ping-pong, barbecue ou diners sur a terrasse parfaitement exposée. La piscine est grande et profonde, dès le milieu vous n'avez plus pied. Elle est parfaitement exposée au soleil toute la journée. Cependant un petit coup de rafraichissement des dalles l'entourant serait le bienvenu. Nous avons de même pu grandement profiter de la table de ping-pong malgré les raquettes un peu vieillissantes dont certaines inutilisables. Le point fort en exterieur de cette maison étant sa terrasse ainsi que ses deux barbecues. Quand à l'intérieur, les chambres sont spacieuses, bien isolées et la literie bien confortable. On y dort bien. Malgré les chambres préparées, la poussière aurait pu être mieux faite et quelques bestioles écrasées sur les murs auraient pu être enlevées/nettoyées. Il y'a diverses salles-de-bains qui permettent de ne pas "se marcher dessus" tous les matins, un petit coup de rafraichissement de certaines serait le bienvenu. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le contact et la ré-activité d'Andrew et de Victoria (house manager), toujours disponibles ! Point à noter sur la localisation, cela reste une région isolée. Le magasin (Intermarché) le plus proche est à plus d'une 20aine de minutes en voiture par de petites routes de campagne. Malgré quelques petits point d'amélioration, je recommande vivement cette maison pour y passer un moment/séjour plus qu'agréable entre amis ou famille :)

Bien en été, un peu moins en hiver

Nous avons passé les fetes de noel en famille dans cette maison. Les proprio nous ont installé un sapin de noel a notre plus grand bonheur. La maison est grande avec beaucoup de chambres spacieuse et plusieurs sdb. Cette maison est remplie de charme. Charme de l’ancien, campagne, nature tout y est ! Seul bemol, la cheminee qui ne fonctionne pas (foyer ouvert, beaucoup de fumee, l’eau de la pluie passe dans le conduit de cheminee...) et qui est dans un petit salon isolé. Le jardin est dangereux pour des enfants en bas age (pas possible de les laisser sortir seul) car le terrain est en pente raide et aucune cloture. Nous reviendrons peut etre en ete et surtout quand nos enfants seront un peu plus grand.

Paradise of silence and swimming for 12 plus twin babies.

We have stayed at La Gleyaire for 3 fortnights in recent years. We never repeat holidays but this place is special. It sits on a wooded ridge, airy and blessed by magical dawns and evenings. The house spreads informally up the ridge, built of local stone, with storybook-windows giving onto unforgettable landscapes. There are two beautiful long tables to eat at inside and another one outside. All the furniture is tasteful and tactile , this is a house out of a Merchant-Ivory film , a house which inspires you to relax in a way you had forgotten. There are lots of good books (no Jeffrey Archer) there and local maps and guides. We walked the Camino from Lauzerte to Moissac. There seem to be roomy bathrooms all over the place with actual baths not just showers. The two hearts of the house are the pool and the roomy kitchen/dining room. It is a house for a large group or family to find both privacy and intimacy, fun and peace, table tennis and flopping by the pool. The owners are very responsive and helpful. All the mod cons work perfectly amid all this artistic charm. The silence of the house andthe incredible sight when you stargaze in poolside loungers at night without pool lights on invade you gradually, so that we all slowly went on our phones and screens less and less . Nearby Lauzerte is more intimate and lived-in - not a dreadful showtown at all - the more you visit it. We took a badminton net, a good idea for the big space out front, and left the rackets there. The pool is surrounded by garrigue. Buzzards mew overhead and cicadas but thats it . Great place for yoga or other routes to inner peace.

Belle maison isolée avec piscine

La maison est construit sur un roc. L'accès en voiture est difficile par un petit sentier en pierre. La maison est grande, belle et pleine de caractère. La piscine un peu a l'ecart est magnifique. L'endroit est calme mais tres peu securisé pour de jeunes enfants: beaucoup de risques de chutes dans les escaliers ou dans les zones escarpés. L'entretien général n'est pas super: carreau cassé dans une des chambre (moustiques ou autres betes pendant la nuit), machine a laver qui fuit, la balancoire sur les photos n'existe plus, la telecommande du lecteur dvd ne marche pas et impossible de choisir la langue ou les episodes dans les menus du coup, aucune balle intact pour la table de ping pong...

charmant et authentique

Cette maison de famille, simple et authentique, magnifiquement rénovée, nous a ravi du premier au dernier jour! Sa situation isolée est parfaite pour des vacances déconnectées, en petit, moyen ou grand groupe. L'intérieur est bien équipé, et l'extérieur (grande piscine) est parfait pour la détente, lecture, jeu et barbecue. De plus, l'accueil y est discret et généreux. Hâte d'y retourner! Merci pour cette découverte!
