About this property

Welcome to our lovely 1 bedroom, 1 bath condo with island decor, king size bed, washer and dryer, dishwasher, AC and full kitchen and bathroom both updated just last year. Our condo is located on the second floor, on the cooler side of this friendly, tranquil, oceanside complex with a view of the ocean and lovely garden from our lanai.
Enjoy the solar heated pool, barbecue area, and lounging area in the palm trees in front of the the west facing shore - wonderful for watching sunsets, dolphins and whales as well as lingering over outdoor meals.
This is a great location for exploring the Big Island of Hawaii - amazing snorkeling spots (we see turtles every trip and last time we had dolphins swimming with us!), boogie boarding, surfing, swimming, the Kilauea Volcano, waterfalls, botanical gardens, hiking, golf, farmers' markets, restaurants, grocery stores and big, sandy beaches are all within driving distance. Tommy Bahama beach chairs and umbrella are available for your beach outings. Our condo is 2 miles from the downtown, waterfront shopping and restaurant district and 1.5 miles from popular Magic Sands beach.
Every evening you'll be treated to a new sunset that you can enjoy from the lanai or the condo pool, or the ocean pool to the left of the complex, or the little beach to the right of the complex, or in the complex' lounging/grill/dining area right next to the ocean. So many choices!

Great place!

The property is absolutely beautiful! Very clean and spacious. The view from the balcony is so nice! The ocean front area is stunning! We really enjoyed watching the sunsets. Aloha dreams

This property was everything you need for a relaxing, adventurous or bit of both vacation. Location was excellent; market across the street, short drive to town or magic sands beach. Very walkable too along Alii drive, however you need to be aware of traffic. The amenities here are excellent from Tommy Bahamas chairs, coolers, boogie boards, umbrellas and snorkelling gear. You have everything you could possibly need to make meals at home. We enjoyed the property and the natural saltwater pool next door was a great surprise! Great snorkeling down the way at snorkeling beach with lovely volunteers each day. We loved Kona and can’t wait to return again soon. Hosts were great with communication and helpful with suggestions. Place was clean and had comfy beds! We felt very safe and all the neighbours were friendly and welcoming.

Just my take...

Nice unit. Lots of amenities supplied. We appreciated the beach chairs. Small lanai but adequate for 2 at happy hour. Check-out request was 1030...which conflicted with the information on line and in the information provided in the unit. Not a big deal. All in all it was great.

OK Stay for Two at Kona Isle

Comfy bed, well-stocked kitchen, Nice to have A/C. The complex needs some TLC - caution tape marks rotten stairs & spindles. Cleaning disinfectant smell is overwhelming upon arrival. Poor view from the lanai - far back in the complex and neighbors can see right into the condo, with limited privacy. Older construction - can clearly/loudly hear upstairs neighbors.

Perfect sunsets

We loved staying at Kona Isle. This very quiet and tropical paradise was perfect. The condo had everything you needed for your stay and was clean and cozy. The balcony was on the shadier side which made it very comfortable to sit out there and enjoy the surroundings. The pool was enjoyable and well maintained.

Quiet haven near Kailua Kona

This condo complex is just far enough from the main Kailua Kona strip that its very quiet. The units and grounds are well kept, and it seems like many of the units are occupied by actual owners. There is a wonderful barbecue/social area at the water's edge for casual conversations and sunset watching. The condo itself was well appointed with all the basics, including kitchen utensils and beach toys.

Organized & ocean front

Great views from this 1 BR unit's lanai. Updated, well organized and stocked with everything you need for a short stay including chairs, an umbrella, snorkeling equipment and a few beach toys. Comfortable bed, USB plugs near the nightstands and towels for both the beach and bathroom. Powerful A/C unit was appreciated in the evenings. Owner was very responsive. The only drawback was the noise - the building is of wood construction and on a busy street, so both the neighbors above us and the road were noisy at times.

Lovely Location and Lanai

This condo has everything. I would bring much less if I could return in the future. It is a very quiet complex. I slept to the sound of the ocean and a ceiling fan. The sunset is visible at the beachfront- Parking is convenient. I was a very happy camper! Mahalo

This property was the perfect way to start our vacation. The condo was extremely clean and well-stocked. It is clear the owners thought about so many little details! It's in walking distance of a small convenience store and coffee shop and about 1-2 miles from major restaurants, shops, and the farmers market. Highly recommended!

An ideal place to relax, unwind, and recreate.

Our host provided everything we could have thought of for entertainment and recreation, and even more. The location is beautiful, as is the condo itself. It is located close to town, nearby markets, beaches, and historical/cultural sites. The condo complex is quiet, and is well managed. The sandy area between the seawall and grassy area has palms for shade, lots of tables, chairs, and beach chairs and lounges, in addition to grills for cooking. And, it is not heavily used! It is our favorite place to sit and watch the sun set and stars come out. This is not a party location, and the residents like it that way. If you are looking for peace and quiet to relax in, this is your place!

Thoughtful owners - great stay

The best word to describe the property and its owners is thoughtful. The unit is stocked with everything a traveller would need but would not be likely to pack along. Cooking oil, bandaids, spices, dish soap, coffee filters, board games, plenty of linens and paper products, loads of utensils in the full kitchen – they even have little bottle openers on the keychains. The king bed was super comfy. Ceiling fans in every room kept us cool without every having to use the A/C (which worked fine – we just didn’t need it). It really feels like you are borrowing a friend’s place rather than a hotel room. The place is 25 minutes from the airport ($28 uber), on a bus route ($2 each way to town, about every 90 minutes) and has a designated parking spot if you have a rental car. Costco, Walmart and Safeway are all nearby (by car – $$$afeway very pricey) and there is a convenience store next door that was even open on Christmas. Communication with the owners was great – quick response to emails and instructions for everything in the suite were available in a binder or posted on the side of the fridge. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Kona.

Such a lovely place to stay.

This apartment is extremely clean, comfortable and lovely. We had a nice view of gardens and the ocean from the lanai where we drank our coffee and ate our breakfast every morning. We could watch the sunset from the beach patio where we also barbecued our dinner several times. We drove into town to walk around most nights and to Magic Sands beach which was close by. The owners were extremely organized and had directions and information on where everything in the apartment was and how to use it which made everything easy and seamless. We appreciated the small cooler and Ice packs, the shopping bags that we took with us whenever we went out as well as the shampoo, hand cream and sunscreen that were left by others for us to use. Our only small difficulty was that sometimes we had a hard time getting the bedroom cool enough to sleep comfortably and we wonder if a small portable air con unit might help in that room. We would recommend this lovely apartment and appreciate the opportunity to rent it for the last week of our wonderful summer vacation!

Like Home

We felt like home. Very clean and comfortable. Cooking, washing, relaxing, no problem. Supermarket, Shopping close by with car. For sightseeing and beaching you have to drive but the route is also the goal. Wally and Jean are wonderful hosts. We had nothing to complain about. 5 Stars.

Great place close to Kona

We loved the place, it felt like home with a great location not far from the Kona farmers market and Kona center. Would come back. Also loved the wave pull not far from the property and the BBQ area where Sunset viewing was amazing.

Home away from home!

Our week in Hawaii was incredible, thanks in part to having such a wonderful place to stay. It's beautifully decorated and supplied with everything you could need. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone planning on staying on the big island. It is literally the perfect "home away from home"!
