About this property

Greer AZ ACE In the Pines, Forest Retreat

Summary:
Charlie & Amber's family cabin is high in Ponderosa pine & aspen tree forest. It's a multi-level, comfortable floor plan w/ lots of room for everyone to spread out. Ultimate in privacy & views of nature. It's like being in a treehouse! All kitchen appliances are BRAND NEW stainless steel (top of the line). Many years of loving family history live within the walls of this this Greer original. It has a personality & spectacular forest views! We no longer accept pets at this family cabin.

The Space:
Whether you are looking for a quiet porch spot on a rainy day with a good book, chilling in front of a giant TV with Netflix, game night in front of a roaring fire or family dinner cooked in the upgraded kitchen...this cabin has it! Kiddos can enjoy their own bunk room with lots of beds and carpeted area to play in. The loft entertainment room has a large flat screen TV (streaming and DVD player) and lounge-style couches for hanging out. There is also a top deck off of this room that is great for squirrel & bird watching. 2 bedrooms and a split 1 1/2 bathroom are also on this floor above the sunken living room. On the main floor, we have the bunk room, King bedroom, kitchen and breakfast bar, dining room and sunken living room with brick hearth fireplace and lots of family seating. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to prepare and serve a family meal. Dishes, silverware, glassware, utensils, pots and pans, wrap and foil...all at the cabin. We have a drip coffee maker and a K cup brewer. There are 3 doors to access the 3/4 wrap around deck. Spectacular forest surrounds you on every side. Access to the main floor is either from the sliding glass doors at the top of the driveway (Wheelchair accessible), dining room door or front entry and screen door. The propane gas grill is located on the porch closest to the kitchen. Propane is provided for the grill. Parking is above or below the cabin as the driveway loops the house providing easy access and unloading from the top. We have a nature trail that leads directly out to national forest property, too! You'll find plenty of hiking, fishing and outdoor activity information located at the cabin upon your arrival. Getting to the cabin in snow can be a bit tricky so be prepared to arrive with 4 wheel drive, All wheel drive or snow chains (that you know how to use without assistance). We plow and maintain the driveway but Mother Nature can be an unpredictable force November through April.

Guest Access:
You are welcome to use the property but please respect the neighbors boundaries and keep an eye on the kids. The lower portion of the cabin including the garage are for owners' private storage. No guest access to these areas.

The Neighborhood:
Greer is a special hamlet at 8500 feet elevation in the White Mountains of Arizona. While the population is small, the heart of Greer is huge. We have a few locally owned restaurants, gift shops & galleries as well as a convenience store for all of the basics and souvenirs. The Little Colorado River meanders through the willows in the protected but usable riparian area. Arizona Game & Fish stocks nearby lakes and rivers April through September. Also in the Summer months you can enjoy Sunday worship with the Greer Chapel folks, weekdays at the beautiful little library or museum visits and outdoor pavilion activities. We also have our own post office. Our cabin is located on the hillside West of Main Street off Wiltbank Street. We are off the beaten path but a short distance from the Greer Village Walkway. You will never know you are "In Town"!

Getting Around:
Side by sides and E-Bikes are a great way to get around town. There is a lovely walkway through Greer village for family walks and safety. 4WD and/or chains may be required in the Winter months but the roads are plowed after a snow storm.

Other Things to Note:
We DO NOT allow pets at the cabin. We fully inspect the home upon your check out but please let us know if something was damaged during your stay out of respect for the family and future guests. We understand that accidents happen.

Interaction with Guests:
As caretakers and co-hosts of the cabin, (we) Kristi and Michael are on call for emergencies and can help out with info about Greer and lots of other stuff. We live in Greer year-round, so we are just a couple minutes away most of the time.

GORGEOUS CABIN!!!
We spent Christmas 2022 in this beautiful Cabin! We felt so comfortable, it was so spacious and cozy! When I picture a cabin this is exactly what I envisioned. The pictures for the cabin don’t do it justice! The beds were comfortable, there was enough room for us to spread out and fun game boards that we definitely took advantage of. We appreciated that there was wifi and only ONE tv it definitely allowed for more well spent “quality family time”. The adults were able to disconnect completely and enjoy every second of the 3 nights we were there! The house manager was super friendly and helpful!! Thank you Kristin!

Perfect Cabin for Large Families in Greer
What a lovely cabin in Greer! This place is much larger and more beautiful in person as compared to photos. A lot of care and thoughtful planning went into the construction of this beautiful cabin. From the wide wrap around outdoor deck, to the lofts off the second floor rooms, to the large built in seating area in the family room, to the beautifully laid bricks in the fireplaces (there are two fireplaces - one in the family room and the other in the primary bedroom), to the driveway that wraps around from the lower level up to the kitchen so you don’t have to traverse stairs. In addition to being spacious, this cabin is very well kept. The beds were all very comfortable with good quality sheets / blankets. There were dressers & closets in all bedrooms with night tables, ample lighting, & individual thermostats. The cabin stayed very warm even with heaters turned down and temps dipping into the 20’s at night. There were plenty of quality pots, pans, utensils, glassware of every size and type, bowls, serving dishes, a large new crockpot and even a colander. It was also stocked with Tupperware, spices, cooking oil, foil / plastic wrap, condiments, etc. There was also shampoo/conditioner, Advil/Tylenol, hair dryer, games, puzzles, books, etc. There is only one TV in the house & it’s located upstairs in the loft. There is no cable/satellite, but it’s a smart TV, so you can stream from Netflix. Although it would have been nice to have a TV in the lower family room, we did ok without it. We ended up doing a lot of visiting with family and playing board games/cards in the evenings, and spent the days hiking & fishing at various lakes in the white mountains. The cabin has a built in speaker system that can be connected to your smartphone to play your favorite music. We had fun taking requests from family members & singing along to different songs. My kids had a great timing finding their grandparent’s favorite songs on Spotify from back in their day. This was a nice change from watching TV. There was a nice newer propane bbq grill on the wrap around deck just adjacent to the kitchen which was very convenient. The communication with Kristin, the property manager, was excellent. She responded quickly to all of my inquiries before, during, and after our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful cabin in Greer and will definitely be back. We will highly recommend to family and friends.

Winter wonderland
Greer and this cabin was better than expected. We had a magical stay in the snow. Our kids had a blast sledding and building a snowman outside and the cabin was warm and comfy. Beautiful kitchen, tons of space for the kids to sleep and play! So many memories, we will be back.
