Deceiving

The outdoor pool and grounds and the lobby are the only saving graces. The checkin process is ridiculous and the staff are extremely unhelpful. So many rules!! The unit itself is in need of some repairs, paint, and some serious cleaning. Bed is terribly noisy and mattress is quite old. Dishwasher is not even secured to the cabinet. Was tempted to just move to a hotel on several occasions, but our stay was only a few days anyway. The pool is great. Not a great place to stay.

AVOID THIS PROPERTY! !I wish I could share a video with this review. It would show that the whole building was VERY dirty and in poor condition. In our unit, there were no window coverings, a broken toilet seat, an old bed with a mattress that slopes to the center and creaks loudly through the night, only one roll of toilet paper, only one small bar of soap, insects in several rooms, and dirty linens. When we contacted the property manager, he refused to correct these issues and even told us that the lack of privacy (no window coverings) was part of the design. I have pictures and videos of people looking into our room from the sidewalk that was 3 feet outside the window. Even though there was a patio in our unit, the door was broken so you couldn't open it more than 6 inches. When we talked to the manager about it, the manager texted and threatened to charge us more. AVOID THIS PLACE! There are better places nearby.

It was ok

The check in process was not the best. It said on the description that there was a $30 fee for your bracelets so that you can access the pool and other amenities. The $30 got you two bracelets for 2 adults so we thought that would be all we had to pay but we found out while checking in that age 14 and over is considered “adult” and we would need to purchase another pair of bracelets so we were charged another $30 for an extra bracelet for my 14 year old. As for the condo, it wasn’t the worst place but definitely could use some upkeep. The flooring had chunks missing in spots, the bathroom door knob came off every time you opened it from inside the bathroom, it looked like there was mold or something on the air vents, the dishwasher was wobbly and not attached to underneath the counter and was off balance. The TV in the bedroom would turn on, but you couldn’t watch anything on it. The cable box in there did not work. Other than that the place seemed ok. There weren’t any bugs and other than what I mentioned above it was clean. If you are not planning to rent a car or do not have a car of your own with you, this place isn’t very close to be able to walk to much. The broadwalk was about a 40 minute walk from the resort. There is a Walmart nearby that you could easily walk to though. Other than that the only thing near is a gas station and other resorts. The pool and outside area is pretty nice and it was convenient that there was beach access from the resort.

Not family friendly

I will start with the negatives then the positives. The condo had dust in every crevice of the unit. The tiles were cracked, outlets for electric didn’t work, the hallways smelled old. There was a smashed cracker in the hallway from the time we arrived and it was still there when we checked out. I messaged the property manager/owner multiple times during our stay regarding the bucket collecting water in the closet, the outlets that didn’t work and the dust EVERYWHERE. I got no response even to this day. However the amenities were nice and the beach was great but don’t forget your $30 non refundable fob.

Overall

Unit is good but needs some TLC. I feel that the owner needs to spend some money to bring it up to a good standard but overall good. Pros: clean sheets / towels TiVo Beach chairs / umbrella Cooler / kid toys Cons: I hd to fix 2 roll up blinds to be able to go to the balcony. The balcony door weighs a ton and it’s not rolling correct so I was the only one able to open and close it. AC set to a temp I want but does whatever it wants Wear shoes since the floor is travertine and has craters with sharp edges causing me to cut my foot open. Overall I recommend and would stay again

Just o.k.

Condo needs some TLC could be some much nicer. Bed sqeaks,AC extremely loud, needs drapery in bedroom and on slider..shades are not operable on the sliding door. Toilet seat is broken as well I did like first floor access Pool area very well kept,beach was busy Was nice to have umbrella and chairs in the condo. We took the good with the not so good.

The condo had everything we needed even the extras like beach towels, beach chairs, coolers. Plenty of toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels. The bed was squeaky and the closet had a leak but it was perfect! The view from the patio was beautiful 😍

Hallendale Best Kept Secret

Booked this location not knowing the area but we were pleasantly surprised, it isn't a new condo so there are little things that need fixed but the overall experience was great, perfect location, beautiful beach, staff was very helpful and we will be back.

Location location

Building is dated and has a funny smell, but felt safe there! Apt. was nice and mostly renovated. Not many towels for a weeks stay, and beach chairs didn’t work, pool chairs were scarce. Ocean is right there too! Local food places but don’t deliver… relaxation was the order and that’s what we got!…Convenient lower level so there’s not an elevator to get in and out of and not too many steps. Downfall was lower level, as Everybody walked by your sitting on the deck and they can see you. Will do this again in the near future!

The location of this condo was very convenient with just a short walk to the pool and the beach, and the balcony was a delight to use. However, this unit needs maintenance and updating. The photos were attractive, but they are not current. The furnishings were minimal and worn. For a unit that is advertised for 4 people, the only soft seating was the sleep sofa. Sitting on it for 10 minutes leads the cushions to slide forward and hang over the frame by 6 inches, requiring constant adjustment. The only chairs were the hard wood chairs around the dining table and one hard plastic chair in the bedroom. The sliding door handle was loose, and the door was very hard to slide. It also was missing a shade for the floor to ceiling center section so, being on the first floor, at night passersby could see right in. For 2 people for 16 days, we were provided 3 bath towels, one hand towel, and 3 small thin washcloths. The mattress and bed linens, except for the duvet cover, were old and worn. The mattress had a deep depression where someone very heavy likely slept for a long time. The pillows were old, worn out, and mismatched. The walk-in closet was a mess. Ceiling tiles were missing, and the floor was largely covered by foam mattresses (?) and a large, folded rug. The hangers were an odd assortment of cheap plastic store hangers with colored clothing size labels on them. We did see ants and a roach, so the property manager brought us roach traps and I told him the kitchen faucet was loose and wobbling and seemed ready to break, plus there was no rubber safety gasket in the garbage disposal. He said he would have a plumber come but none did. Each time I used the disposal I held up the plastic cutting board to block the eruption of ground up food particles coming at me. Only one of the knives was barely able to cut anything. The others were dull and useless. The first can opener I tried was old, dirty, and useless as it was missing the turning key needed to make it work. The second one was grungy, but it did open the can. The kitchen trash can had a broken latch rendering the lid mostly impossible to stay closed. There also should have been more dishes, especially in smaller sizes. Electric outlet covers weren’t well fitting, and many things were chipped or rusty, especially a strange air vent by the sink. The unit seemed clean, but it left much to be desired as it badly needs maintenance. I will not stay here again.

ROACHES! at GOOD LOCATION

I am very disappointed with the condition of the condo. It is located at The Tides. As soon as we started putting up groceries in the kitchen, I noticed small bugs crawling on the counter. And as soon as night hit, the larger roaches started coming out. That's when we noticed roach bait stations in the corner on the floor in all rooms and on the kitchen counter and underneath sink. We were going to try to find another place to stay, but it was New Years Eve and the cost was so high we wouldn't have been able to do anything. The roaches were mainly in the kitchen, which we cleaned thoroughly and kept spraying during our whole stay because a stray roach would pop up everytime we tried to cook which wasn't much. If this condo has roaches, you know the other units has roaches as well. I put a sheet on the couch because it did not look clean either. The bedroom and bathroom were the cleanest spaces in the condo. However, we didn't use the closet at all because it had old mattress pad that looked like had old menstruation stains on it. The check in was crazy....supposed to be valet parking but wasn't...then you can't check in at the front desk...you had to follow a maze to the office at the back of the building. The only saving grace is the condo is right on the beach with a nice pool. It is a little distance from the boardwalk though. I liked Hollywood, but I will never stay here again. I should not have booked this since there were no reviews. But I hope this review helps someone else.
