Great Stay Near Hershey & Lancaster
My family & I had a great vacation staying at Jay and Jodi’s home. It was a beautiful place filled with goats, sheep, and the friendliest cats (never were allowed in the house). My three kids (ages 1, 5, 8) had a great time, especially getting to feed the animals. The beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. The lack of kitchen sink/oven was perfectly fine for us. The only frustrating part was having to go upstairs every time we wanted to use the bathroom, but was a perfectly acceptable trade off to being able to stay in such a lovely place. Thanks again!!!

Farm house
Different from a b&b - an actual working farm - rustic feeling- ancient wood but restored. One bathroom a bit of a challenge. Convenient to all venues in Mt Joy. Quiet - restful.

Farmhouse Escape Perfect for Families: A+ stay!
We recently enjoyed a fantastic stay at this historic farmhouse. It was the perfect choice for our large family group (3 adults and 4 kids, ages 6-16). Situated just 30 minutes from Hersheypark, the farmhouse location was unbeatable. We spent our days enjoying the thrills of the park and came back each evening to a relaxing and charming atmosphere. The farmhouse itself was beautifully maintained and decorated in a chic farmhouse style. It was warm and inviting, a perfect escape after a long day at the park. The owners clearly put a lot of love into the place! One of the highlights for the kids was getting to feed the goats and sheep each morning. The owners thoughtfully provided buckets of feed, making it a fun and interactive experience. Jodi and Jay, the owners, were fantastic. They were incredibly friendly, communicative, and ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The farmhouse was beautiful, the location perfect, and the little touches like the animal feeding made it extra special for the kids. We highly recommend this farmhouse for anyone looking for a spacious, charming, and family-friendly stay near Hersheypark.

Spotless house & farm!
With a spacious living room, three large bedrooms (and one small) this beautiful farmhouse was conveniently located to Mt. Joy. The owners live on the other side of French doors, so there might be some noise transference. (We were never there during the day, so we have no direct knowledge of this.) The only thing that was awkward was that there was no sink or water on the first floor. Since we weren't going to be cooking, I didn't think that would be a problem. But to dump your coffee cup or wash your hands, you had to go to the bathroom on the second floor. I think this would have been more of an issue if there were children involved. On a personal note, I was disappointed with having to do housekeeping chores for checkout-- it's a minor issue, but stripping the beds and taking the garbage out to the barn, while packing and goodbye-ing, was an annoyance I could have done without. All in all, a very clean, comfortable stay!

Peaceful weekend with young kids
This is our second stay at the farm. The children aged 1 to 10 all had a blast feeding and petting the animals. We made wonderful memories. The beds were comfortable, and the dining/living area spacious to accommodate 10 people. But nothing beats a cup of warm coffee on the porch! See you very soon I hope!

Clean, Comfortable, Relaxing Weekend
All details have been considered by the host for a comfortable stay at this working farm. The farm house was impeccably clean and the host was very responsive. Our group of 7 was attending a swim meet for our daughter at York College (30 minutes away). We would definitely recommend this property for families or adult groups. We look forward to a future visit!

Wonderful!
I started there while visiting for a wedding. It was perfect to the location. Close to Manheim, but in a space I could have peace and quite. The owners are friendly and can be seen on sight since it's a working farm.

Labor Day Family Trip 2023..and Engagement
Flipping through the listings while planning a family gathering Jodi's quaint, serene and welcoming farm house property grabbed my eye immediately. The spaciousness, cleanliness and beauty of the house and farm found in the pictures are true to life. The home was perfect for our family of 8 (5 adults and 3 kids). Jodi and her husband were welcoming way prior to our stay, with great communication in advance and were amazing hosts. The working farm offers views in every direction, with full feed buckets for the kids (and adults) to feed the goats and sheep each morning. We had access to a good sized side yard for ourselves with games/activites and swingset. The rooms are all a great size, and incredibly well kept and clean. Jodi offered guidance on the local area, and we split our time between Hershey and Lancaster. The atmosphere was so full of love and beauty that it became the perfect backdrop and site of a proposal to my now.. fiancée! We couldnt be happier with our experience and we know you will be thrilled as well! We will be going back!

A bucolic slice of tranquility
There aren’t enough words for me to adequately compliment Jay and Jodi for the amazing experience we had in their home. The gorgeous farmhouse against the picturesque backdrop of acres of open corn fields is enough to make one long for the tranquility of country living. Not only were Jay and Jodi such a pleasure to meet and talk to, they were kind enough to patiently show us around their meticulously manicured farrm; introduce us to all of their cats, goats and sheep; and graciously welcome us into their spotless, updated, beautiful family home. I looked at a lot of Vrbo listings and picked this house based on the pictures and reviews. They have earned every perfect review on Vrbo plus some. They exceeded every expectation my family and I had and I would recommend you look no further if you’re looking for a place to stay. I sure hope to be back there again someday.

Beyond clean, beyond comfortable, and an absolute joy. Stayed for a basketball tournament at the Nook and would advise anyone to stay here. Hosts were outstanding. If you are from the city life this is the perfect sense of country life with all of the luxurys. P.s. basketball court for the kids!!!

Excellent Property
Very impressed with the cleanliness and set up of the property. Very spacious and lots of yard to roam. Beautiful porches and so fun to feed the sheep and goats. They have a peaceful little trail thru the fields to get a little walk in. Owners were super responsive and very friendly. We had a group of 11 people and worked out perfect for us. Will definitely book again next time we are in the area.

Lovely farm retreat
We had a great time during our weekend stay while also visiting Hershey Park! The kids loved feeding the goats and sheep, petting the friendly cats, riding on the little bikes in the barn and playing on the swingset and basketball court area. The owners were very sweet and accommodating and quickly responded with any questions we had. The house is nicely decorated and the beds were comfy! Despite no true kitchen access, the space provided was perfect with microwave, toaster, Keurig (and pods), plates, cups and cutlery. The fridge was larger than expected and met our needs (larger than a mini, smaller than full size). The porch area was relaxing and we enjoyed a meal at the table. Would highly recommend this home for a long weekend away!!

Loved the Farm!
It’s our 3rd year staying at the farm and we loved every minute. Our kids played with the kittens and fed the goats every morning. It’s so nice to be away and enjoy nature, feel completely safe and stay a beautiful home. I couldn’t recommend Jodi and her farm house more.

Jay and Jodi have three grown children who live in the area. All three of their children have gotten married at the farm in the past five years. Now their three grandchildren love coming to GiGi and Pop's farm!
We have decided to move in the direction of renting the guest area as a whole. This better serves each family in the area of social distancing and safety during these times. We are excited about this new venture and look forward to providing a relaxing place to stay!

Why they chose this property

Formerly owned by Jim and Mim Brubaker, Country Log House Farm is now owned and operated by Jim’s daughter, Jodi, and her husband Jay. The farm was originally purchased by the Brubaker family in 1945. The farm was a dairy farm which milked about 80 cows. Jodi’s father, Jim, sold the cows and started the bed and breakfast in 1994. The farm was named Country Log House Farm because the guest section of the house was a log home built in the 1800’s.
