Beyul Retreat took over the historic Diamond J guest ranch outside of Aspen, CO in late 2020 and has transformed the century-old property into a hub of art, live music, wellness & outdoor adventure. Beyul Retreat has already received rave reviews from the Wall Street Journal, Vogue, Denver Post, Houston Chronicle, Yoga+Life, Aspen Times, Aspen Daily News, and more. Our guests choose Beyul for its creative, inspiring, and unique vibe that sets it apart from a traditional guest ranch.
Beyul Retreat is located 1 hour from Aspen, CO. The Frying Pan River runs right through our 32 acres, home to a lodge and cabins built by hand in the 1930s, sculptural art installations, and trails into the surrounding White River National Forest. Your restorative experience here will include our mountain onsen with traditional cedar sauna, hot tub, and cold plunge, complementary yoga classes upon request, and perusing curated local art & goods in our Mossy Rock Mercantile. Nearby you'll find incredible hiking; rock climbing at Lime Creek; road & gravel biking; fly fishing on the Gold Medal Frying Pan, and more. The Frying Pan River remains a wild solitude, traveling through a gorgeous canyon formed from the 250 million-year-old red sandstone Maroon Formation.
The retreat is surrounded by the White River National Forest, which creates privacy and access for backcountry skiing, hiking, backpacking, and hunting. It’s 26 miles up from the confluence with the Roaring Fork, just five minutes beyond Ruedi Reservoir, a beautiful 1,100 acre lake where you can enjoy sailing, water skiing, windsurfing, kayaking, and fishing. World-class mountain-biking, climbing, paragliding and skiing are within a short drive.
Mountain View is the star of Beyul's cabin lineup. It's really a lodge itself (some might call it a chalet). It's got two stories, 3 spacious bedrooms, a full kitchen and laundry, and best of all, a great room where you can gather around a long dining room or the fireplace. It sleeps 11 in beds and has a wrap-around porch.
