We came to the property with 3 friends, 8 minute ride to off road park. Lovely house, very clean and cozy. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. It was a great weekend, thank you.
Mike and Pam are the sweetest and most delightful hosts I have ever met. They treated us like family. No, better than family! :) They took us to all the "secret" places of the area and shared their love for the community with us. The lodge was super clean, well maintained and decorated tastefully. If you are in the area, don't miss staying at this lodge.

Property was immaculate and was a beautiful cedar and pine interior. From the laz-z-boy loveseat recliner to the impressive whitetail deer mounts , this place will be enjoyed by all who are inspired by the outdoors. You could not find finer hosts who are focused on helping you enjoy your stay. They are personality plus ! We will be back anytime we are in this part of the state.
The lodge is absolutely beautiful. It is well maintained, well stocked and clean. The property owners are kind and welcoming. We really appreciated the extra touches, such as prepping our campfire the first night and leaving flowers to help celebrate our anniversary. We look forward to returning.
The inside of the cabin was well kept and nicer than expected. The pictures online don't do it justice. We had all the essentials when we got there plus a lot of extra stuff to make our stay more pleasant. The owner is a very friendly and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. The area was quiet but not too far from stores to get whatever you might need.
This area has a treasure called Goose Pond! We traveled to this destination for birding. The hosts, Mike & Pam, very welcoming and accommodating to ensure a pleasant visit. They are wonderful communicators.
In back of the home is a deck which was lovely for viewing some birds in the evening, for reading, listening to nature, relaxing with a favorite beverage together.
Very helpful in giving suggestions of other local things that might be of interest. It is a small rural town, but has everything needed for a visit.

About the host
Hosted by Mike Swinford
My wife and I are retired teachers. We moved to Linton, Indiana to enjoy hunting, fishing, and hiking. Our little town, Linton, has coffee shops, restaurants, and sporting/bait shops. We never have a dull day with Goose Pond Conservation, Greene-Sullivan State Forest, and crazy ATV rides at Red Bird ATV Park.
Why they chose this property
Our family has enjoyed this area since 1986. We were driving to our little trailer a while back. On our way, we passed this little property with a "For Sale" sign. We pulled in right away!!! We are nested in the middle of farmland. Goose Pond Fish and Wildlife Conservation area is in our "backyard." There're are a number of "small towns" around us. We enjoy these friendly country folks. Our farming neighbors have become great friends. They represent the kind and helpful ways of our community.
What makes this property unique
One thing that we really enjoy is sitting in back watching the sunrise and the birds wake up. Drinking our coffee... You can see as far as you can imagine. Have you ever seen a flock of sandhill cranes fill the sky? Ever get that nontypical whitetail? Shooting a turkey within 20 minutes of settling in? Catching crappie, bass, bluegill, red ear, trout, or catfish sound good?
