Rawky Ridge Retreat is a 4 bedroom/3.5 baths log cabin that sleeps 15 guests.

Our mountain getaway is located in the exclusive log home community known as Smoky Mountain Retreat. The community is private, gated and the roads are fully paved. You will be provided a gate code for accessing the two gated entrances - one leading to Maggie Valley and the other to Waynesville, where you’ll find lots of shops, restaurants and breweries.

Our cabin features a two-car garage, two gas fireplaces, Wi-Fi, a cascading waterfall on the property, fire-pit, wrap around deck with trek decking and a gas grill, a beautifully furnished interior, including a Rec room with pool table and board games. Also, a new hot tub on the lower deck!

Our cabin is a short 45-minute drive from the airport and attractions in Asheville!

PLEASE READ BEFORE RESERVING: NO MOTORCYCLES OR SLINGSHOTS ARE ALLOWED IN THIS COMMUNITY.

Main level: Living Room, Gas Fireplace, Dining Room and Kitchen featuring granite counters, a gas Wolf cooktop and stainless-steel appliances. Master bedroom with king bed 40" TV and en-suite bathroom. Also on the main floor is a half bath, laundry & access to garage and upper deck.

Upper level: The first bedroom features two queen beds with a window seat and the second bedroom features a queen and a full bed also with a window seat. Both bedrooms include a large closet. The bedrooms share a full bathroom with shower and jetted tub. A pack and play crib is also available for your littlest travelers!

Lower level: The lower level includes an entertainment living area with a gas fireplace and TV, a game area with pool table and board games. The lower-level bedroom features two sets of bunk beds, twin over twin and twin over full and an en-suite bathroom with walk in shower. Access to covered deck, hot tub and front yard fire-pit from the lower level.

No Pets allowed.

June-Dec: $350 (night)-$2250 (week)
Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years: $2,625 (7 Night Minimum)

As we explored our mountain top lodging we found that every little detail from the beautiful interior, to the perfectly stocked kitchen, bathrooms and comfy bedrooms, left us nothing to do but relax. The beautiful deck, with its breathtaking views was our favorite spot to begin our day for morning coffee and our spot to unwind from a busy day over evening night caps. We left for home feeling relaxed and pampered and would recommend The Bears Lair to all!

Spacious and Quiet Mountain Retreat

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful two-week stay at Bears Lair. The cabin is very spacious and nicely decorated. The beds were very comfortable. The cabin was generally clean with the exception of a few items in the kitchen which needed better cleaning (microwave, coffee maker, pots). We enjoyed the pool table and fire pit outside for s’mores. The cabin is centrally located in Maggie Valley and close to grocery and other stores in Waynesville. Being from Florida, it took us a few days to get used to driving up and down the mountain. Thankfully there were very few cars sharing the road. Wifi at the cabin is not very good if multiple devices are being used. I suggest having hotspot available. We had good cellular reception with AT&T. Overall this is a wonderful cabin, very comfortable, and in a good location for seeing Great Smoky Mountain National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and surrounding areas. We would definitely recommend this cabin.

Very clean, well appointed with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. Plenty of indoor & outdoor space to accommodate our party of 7. Grandkids loved playing pool after a day of running around the mountains. Would highly recommend to any family.

Fantastic Lair

The location is minutes from Waynesville and a convenient 30 minutes to Asheville. The cabin was everything you could want in a modern mountain cabin; a bit rustic with all the amenities you need. We had cold temps and enjoyed several nights of family time by the fire pit and also the fireplace. The cabin was clean and well-stocked and the beds very comfortable. We already miss morning coffee in a rocking chair looking out at Maggie Valley. We can’t wait to come back.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a true log cabin experience with each floor and bedrooms named to coincide with the Bear Lairs name. Open beam ceilings. Gas fireplace I loved that the kitchen was well equipped. A wood fireplace, sofa, recliner, bedroom, and full bathroom made for a cozy setting. Majestic views from every window. I also loved the double decks. The open view of the living room from the third floor. I have high recommendations for Bears Lair.
